Listen, nobody is wrong because sometimes some dragon fruits can be tasteless, sweet or even sour
Very true. I had it multiple times but just like any fruit it depends on each one.
I hate tasteless dragonfruits, most at my school are sour

Well the pink one taste more sweet than the white ones.
They remind me of a kiwi texture wise. The taste is like alovera but a slight sweetness. I love dragon fruit with the white monster.💜
I was just saying it has a kiwi texture XD and kinda to me has the slight taste of one too
I just tried dragon fruit for the first time, literally five minutes ago. I'm IN LOVE with it. It's slightly sour, slightly sweet, and the seeds are delightfully CRUNCHY! I could easily eat a whole one by myself!!!
bruh i eat an entire dragon fruit myself
how do u eat this stuff, its so sour-
I treat myself once a year with a dragon fruit and eat it all alone🥰
Sour? I guess it's a very enigmatic fruit then because the ones I usually have are either tasteless or a hint of sweet but no sour.
that sounds like something that would easily become my favorite fruit 😂
Here tips to never bought a tasteless dragon fruit:
1. First pick the fruit with the most vivid color
2. Check the softer leaves, the softer it is the sweeter the fruit
So if you want the mid sweet fruit go for the most vivid color but with not so soft leaves.
Thank me later
Also here the fruit is just $1 each, pretty cheap.

Most dragonfruit you can get in the store are not picked when ripe, they are picked early and let ripen as they are shipped. This destroys any chance they have to develop the proper flavor and sweetness they have when let ripen on the cactus. I strongly urge you to at some point go somewhere where you can get one at peak ripeness right off the plant. It’s a night and day difference
YES IM SO GLAD YOU SAID THIS. Having eaten both fresh and shipped dragon fruit, I can testify to this claim. Fresh and local dragonfruit is not only extremely cheap, it’s extremely tasty too.
Where would you go?
@@rewind3334 well in the southwest they can grow just wild, but your best bet anywhere is like farmers markets in the southwest, you can also probably find some better product online from smaller growers maybe?

As someone who tried Dragon Fruit, it’s both in my opinion, flavourless but has a slight sweetness, and the seeds give it a kiwi type of feel, definitely not bad but not good to me, but making smoothies with other stuff makes it taste better

the pink one is sweeter
Yes.
the taste of dragon fruit is very mild, and depending on the ripeness can taste gross or great. also, what you eat prior to it can change how you percieve it as well, if you ate candy than had some, you'd think it was gross and a weird texture. if you had just eaten a savoury meal, you'd think is was nicely sweet and refreshing.
From my experience, the sweetness of a dragon fruit varies from piece to piece. Some dragon fruit are abnormally sweet while others are just water with seeds and fiber. It’s the same with the color on the inside; some are pink and some are white, though the flavor is more a spectrum than a black or white thing.
there is a kind of sweetness sometimes, other times it tastes like depressed water
It tastes like maple water tbh
It taste like kiwis
Most store-bought dragonfruit in the U.S. are pretty tasteless. However, if home-grown or bought in Asia, dragonfruits are actually really flavorful, sweet, a bit tart, and super juicy.

I went to China for an economics class in college. I ate dragon fruit for breakfast EVERY DAY. It tasted *EXACTLY LIKE VERY SWEET KIWI.* I was beyond disappointed when I returned home and the dragon fruit I bought tasted like nothing.

I think it depends on where the dragon fruit comes from, because the ones who are purple in the inside taste very sweet and just heavenly and the ones that are white don't taste as good. But I'm not sure why anymore, it's been a long time since I watched the video about them, but I think it has to do with the Climate or the ripe time.
I like dragonfruit, but they’re not easy for me to get - the nearest ethnic market that carries them is an hour away from my home, and they can be quite expensive for me, so I only get a couple at time.

It mightve not been ripe enough yet! In my experience dragonfruit thats more translucent than opaque is sweet, similar to a yellow kiwi

I also have quite a few dragon fruit plants and honestly, it's a blessing, they can be really expensive and I get them for free :)e
Dragon fruit is mostly tasteless because they are shipped not-completely-ripe and during shipping it loses most of its taste, sadly.
