Dar Salim deserves an Oscar for this film. This whole film deserves a plethora of awards. The soundtrack really hits home. Best movie I have seen in a looong time
Not a big war movie fan, but my goodness what a great movie. Very different to what I've seen. The quiet moments, the action, the thrill, the emotion and humanity. Omg and the scene of Ahmed getting frustrated pushing Jon and sobbing on the mountain, wow.
I'll give this film a very-HARD-pass,hits home too much for me.Did 4 deployments to go fight in Iraq and some interpreters led our people into ambushes.Although on my first tour to Iraq my unit had a female Iraqee interpreter who was-LOYAL-but,the Iraqee men didn't like a female interpreter and at times tried to get-ROUGH-with her,so we had to put the WWE smack-down on them.We had to show this female interpreter we had her back and wasn't playing no games with her protection.
This movie was fantastic. So many elements came together. I'd have to say the soundtrack was one of my favorite parts. It was solidly driving the story all the way through. Also the acting was incredible. I loved the dead pan delivery of the lines. It was like an inside look into the life of a modern soldier, but when the shit hit the fan. The acting took on a completely different tone.
I loved the connection between two man, between two souls, the pain of commitement and that hook "inside of him" that would kill him if he would not went back. The obligation to save other´s life, keeping a promise and paying debts. PAY YOUR DEBTS !!
Dar Salim was so real, I literally was afraid to breathe the whole movie. Such a brilliant actor's work. Also the director did a great job! I didn't like Guy Ritchie before but this movie made me change my mind

What a Guy Ritchie's war movie would look like ?... well, to an Award Winning one ! That was a moment of humanity and genuine generosity transposed in a brilliant way. Without the usuals effusions and emotions' demonstrations, much closer to the reality of men than to the films' "characters" . For me, spectator, that was a pure cinema moment

It's been quite a long time since I had seen another war film that kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time. This film was one of em. They executed it really well the whole part of it as well the telationship between the main characters of the film.

I was so impressed with this film! I love Guy Ritchie films. It was incredibly emotional and the way Guy portrayed the PTSD and flashbacks was incredibly moving he captured it so well. I suffer from CPTSD. The actors were phenomenal I will watch and Jake Gyllenhaal films. The soundtrack was amazing as well!! 😊
What is CPTSD ??? I suffer from PTSD also,did 4 deployments to go fight in Iraq,once had a female,Iraqee interpreter and the male Iraqee's hated that !!! LOL. Didn't like being dictated to by a woman,but,she did a very-GOOD-job for us despite the difficulties.She was also very-PRETTY-and had gorgeous,brown eyes.
@@powerbadpowerbad it’s called Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: just means that after suffering from trauma and abuse that abuse continued to happen from support system so it prolongs the healing process from traumatic events. It took me a long time to work through it with my therapist. But I have a much better understanding of what I need to do to take care of myself. Thanks for asking and thank you for your service!!
One of the best movies of this genre, One thing I really liked in this movie was how good karma comes back to you, Ahmed helped John with expecting nothing in return, He went out of his way and undertook such a horrific journey to save John and see how good karma came back to him to help Ahmed out of the hell hole.
this movie was so entertaining for me, people risk their lives for a better tomorrow for their families even in wartime.. I'm glad that they shined light about the unsung heroes (Interpreters) during wartimes.. specially the ones that lives in a wartorn country like the one portrayed in this movie...

Despite all the current negative attention on masculinity, this movie shines light on the side of masculinity that is the most beautiful and only known to real men. Always wanted a movie that could make the world understand this side of being a man.

I just watched it in an airplane, hooked and the 12-hour flight turned into entertaining because of this movie. Love the Act, the storyline, and the Soundtrack! 3 thumbs Up!

But in reality, you have hordes of hot women with not so hot men - on the looks factor. The women are often with them on the secondary factors. Looks alone don't necessarily guarantee long term partners in real life. Look at Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. The same with many hot looking female celebrities.
