Monitoring, telemetry and alerting is something that every production-grade service needs to run effectively and with minimal downtime. Azure Monitor combines logging, metrics and alerting into one tool to help you gain the insights you need into your platform, no matter if it's running in a micro-service or monolithic architecture. I'm going to show you how to use Azure Monitor and how to make the most of it, in an extensible manner. Last but not least, I will also show you the true power of the Azure Monitor query language (Kusto), for when you want to truly unleash the power of Azure Monitor and hook it up to external tools or APIs.

If it dumps your connection string into the browser, doesn't that make it really easy for people to sidejack your Azure resources? Anyone can grab that connection string, and flood the App Insights with Terabytes of data that you then get charged for.

hi, before i try it can you tell me if its free and if it offer the possibility to see which part of the code takes the most time and how long it takes to execute for a specific action, for example when i log in, i want to see how long it takes and which is the slowest part in the code for that operation (see precise timing and call counts of function in my code), for example a particular function or operation which takes 2 seconds, and the entire login takes 3 seconds?

uhh, I have to watch it at almost 100% volume, and then when the you tube ads cut the video (which happens every 10min) I'm about to loose hearing. cool stuff otherwise
