I like how Motorola keeps up in the market by offering affordable phones because not everyone has the budget to buy Apple or Samsung.
I just grabbed one from costco at $150 Canadian for my daughter. I refuse to buy her a phone that costs an arm and a leg just for her to use for texting and calling.
I feel like Samsung really beat Moto to the punch this year by releasing the a14 5g so close to this phone's release. Really no reason to buy this phone, just pick up the much better a14 for $30 extra dollars.

I got the Moto G 2023 128gb (5g variant) for 180 bucks. 220 without the Black Friday discount.
Honestly they should slowly start upgrading more storage options in the united States because 64 or 128 gb would be pretty nice at least for some people on a low budget but that just want something basic but with enough memory for some that use it a lot for work or what not I mainly use 128 gb phones now being I can have them longer and I still got a lot I only used 39 gigs in some time had the moto slg stylus 5g 2022 it pretty good after a while some lags and glitches but I don't appreciate there fast approach on things but I think Motorola falls behind in some point with there mid flagships and budget phones spec wise and storage wise and a lot of the good ones are hard to come by after some time so that being said I think availability is another factor that needs work as well

I was wanting to buy this phone. Until I found out it has no face id. I think the Moto G Power 2022 is probably a better phone for me to replace my Moto G Pure with.
Does anyone know how to turn on this phone without using the power button? My power button is kinda worn.

Poor you, this phone is abslolutely terrible. I wouldn't even use it if i got it for free...
The time and date and battery level comes on when ever I barely touch it. What is that??
Its called a "peek display", but if you go to the settings or also the Moto app which is pre-installed, you can turn it off so the screen only shows when you turn it on. Hope this helps!
I just found out my Moto g 5g doesn't have a built in stylus
This phone is awful I can't wait for my new phone to come in. This phone is good if u have been lost in time and want to upgrade your flip phone. Spend the extra $2-300 for something else. Very glitchy, slower than slow, camera is awful, I haven't dropped it or got it wet and I'll watch a video then out of nowhere it'll just close it out
As a 18 year old I'm happy with this phone I just picked it up last week
I kind of feel Motorola is kind of starting to slip with their budget phones. Used to be more and way better options. I hope they start picking it up this year.

I wish it had a 1080p display, even if the panel isn't AMOLED or anything I would like to have a higher resolution display, but for $170 bucks, 720p isnt bad for the price and there's an old saying, " YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!”
5g is overrated. 5g phones just come with fast processers.
@Kevin Breeze Hi I know you're busy but thought I would ask my question if you have time to answer. I got a new Moto G Play 2023 and I cannot tell if it has a screen protector on it already or not. Is it normal for the glass to stick up and not be touching the edges. It looks like a screen protector however those aren't usually put on for you when you buy a new phone. With all my other phones the glass was basically one solid piece with no spaces between the edge and the glass. This has raised glass you can even insert your fingernail in between the glass and the edges. Sorry to go on and on. I'm kind of scared to try to lift it off I just noticed a small chip on the edge of the inner glass. Anyway have you seen phone's like this? As I mentioned mine has always been one piece. Thanks.
I just got this phone Friday and I'm okay with it. I am a Samsung girl 100% however this will do for now. I do have a Samsung Galaxy a13 5g but for some reason it wouldn't make calls with the SIM card that was put in but when the lady at boost Mobile put in her own SIM card it worked but that's how I got the Motorola g play 2023. I do wish it was 5g and I wish it was more customizable like Samsung is (such as changing the font) but I do like the shake for the flash light feature.
I got mine for literally $2 at walmart with tmobile for a whole month.

Brought one n year later Verizon too k over Motorola android and Verizon sent out a malicious update that disabled carrier service and disabled wifi calling switch rendering my phone useless, Verizon needs to be investigated for this criminal act

I watching this video on my moto g play 2021 and it crazy how this phone looks like a downgrade from the 2021 when you would think the 2023 version would be better than 2021 version
I have a Motorola moto e22i-and Lo and behold, came without a wall adapter in the box unlike the G Play (2023).
I have a moto e as well. My cord and charger block crapped out. I found replacent at The Source. Both work better than what Motorola gives with the phone. Their blocks 😢have actually fried my phone's twice.( Made them die) The brand I bought is Logiix model S-TR 153A and same brand cord but 5 feet.😊 They charged my phone much quicker.
Wow I just did my Geekbench on my Moto G play (2021) and just wow way better this is big downgrade
I think 4G LTE is still pretty good. They'll be fine.

I just recently bought this moto 5g power 2023. I'm somewhat disappointed. Even with the higher refresh rate, there is still lag when scrolling up and down. It seems slow. My previous phone performed better.
I ordered the wrong phone amazon switched it to g play when i wanted g pure and i am scared they won't give me my refund but oh well i only need this for calling
My wife's phone went dead on her, I let her use my G7 play, it's barely been used, I have a Motorola one 5g, she likes the G7 play the apps still update on it it's a good phone still.
It sucks that this guy cant even bother to reply to any of his viewers questions. That makes me never watch anymore of his videos ever.

I just got the Higher end Moto G Power (2021) 4GB Ram / 64 GB Storage a few months ago, while I'm still on Android 11, I'm enjoying what the phone has to offer. This phone would be a downgrade in my opnion even though it's newer.
I'm watching this video on my Moto G Power 2021 phone,and I gotta say the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 octo core processor is a true beast with streaming UA-cam videos,streaming Netflix,streaming Paramount plus and playing daily games,I love my Moto G Power 2021 phone to death good friend buddy XD🤗🥰🤙

Yeah they could've done so much better with the Moto G Play 2023 smartphone,they could've at least gave it,4 gigs ram,8 gigs ram,64gb/128gb of storage and they could've gave it 15 watt fast charging or 18 watt fast charging,and to me personally they should've stayed with the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor's,cause I'm sorry to say but,those MediaTek processor's just ain't it chief just my personal honest opinion
@@Terranwilliamson1745 I agree the Snapdragons chips are better option. The Moto G Pure uses it and it's the bottom tier of the Moto smartphones.
I think Motorola is starting to kind of slip with their budget phones. I bought my mom the Motorola g8 power a year and a half ago and it's still running well and she surprisingly still enjoys it. Snapdragon 665, 1080p display, 4gb/64gb, stereo speakers, and 5000mah battery with 18w fast charging. All for $139. Now that was obviously a discounted price, but I haven't been able to find anything more recent with similar specs from Motorola for around the same price. The closest thing I've found is the Motorola G Stylus 5g 2022, but I can't find any new ones unlocked.
The last Moto g Play had better specs then this 2023 model.....
The specs on this 2023 Moto g Play are much like the last Moto g Pure.... Which was about as low as can be....so Motorola may have just Rebranded that Pure to become the 2023 Moto g Play....& Save $$$...
The Moto g pure 2021 has better specs than this.
I've always been simple with phones. Just need it for the basics. So I never really have high standards for myself when it comes to smartphones even at 30 years old. Haha. Getting mine today in the mail $100!

I have a Motorola Edge Plus 2022 that has 5G but there is no 5G network where I live.
Motorola has gotten bad with theyre phone updates i just got the samsung a14 5g and its way better than this phone
