Would you recommend getting this one or the 70mai a800s dual camera, or another dual camera? Looking for a dual system to install in my new dacia sandero stepway
These look like a great camera and I've heard nothing but great reviews about them. I use a very cheap dash cam and it is nowhere near as crystal clear as this one. Could you tell me more about this battery pack that Blackvue sell? I would like to see about recording constantly but am not great at electronics. I will definitely get this camera in a month or two.
I can tell you it's heavy! The whole point is to be independent from the car's battery and to avoid any possibility to drain it. And guarantees proper parking surveillance support, which is also great.
I have a device that you plug the camera into that makes it record continuously. This is wired to the car battery directly. If it detects that the car battery is low is turns off the camera to avoid a flat battery.
It should be able to, with a slight quality degradation. Try with your smartphone - if you are happy with the results on your phone, the dashcam will do fine.
4k Dash Cam with dual recording - Very nice review, Quality is excellent, Everything is available one can ask from a Dash Cam, Premium Quality comes with Premium Price Tag. But I'm not a big fan of adhesive sticker based mount......Amazing European Road footage.
You don't like the adhesives because of the inability to quickly dismount? Or due to another reason? Thanks a lot for the comment! This is by far the best dashcam I've tested - and it is impressive, especially on the software side.
@@TechMishka I dislike because of its inability to switch from one car to another if the family/person own more than one car. A family with two cars most probably the person will buy the second unit for his better half but these days many families owned 3 to 4 Cars and they are not on the road at the same time, So it just save the trouble if there is the option of the suction cup mount....About Extended Warranty which comes by default these days, unlike European region where Dash Cam Mandatory for Insurance & Stuff, Country like mine and many others don't require any. So when Cars goes to a Yearly visit at Service Center for regular maintenance, the SE (Service Executive) become the officer in charge who is on duty at Mexico - USA border, Any 3rd Party extra fittings will disqualify 5-7 years Extended Warranty / AMC (Anual Maintenance Contract) paid by the user earlier - These things go for Regular People......... Now comes to Car Enthastics and Premium Car Owners who obviously owned more cars than headcount of their family , They will not allow this as they are always on the verge of quickly flipping the car in the market with the most resale value and go for the next big thing and that leads to keeping the car in mint condition, I know those cars can be customized as factory fitted surveillance package which directly linked to the Data Bus system and remote server but that not always there due to cost.....They obviously needed the assurance of Dashcam most but the choice is limited due to this permanent fixture trend.
@@Arijit_B Sums up my concerns about adhesives too :-) Not that quick-swappable indeed. For the B1W I have ordered a few extra holders, as it is very small and easy to bring here and there. Excellent point!
Hi, would you recommend to run it at 4K 30fps or 1080P 60fps for the numberplate to be the most visible ? (when crossing a car in the opposite direction for example)
Impressive you answered every comment posted and sometimes even twice whether it warrants comment or not. Can I use any larger SD card or do i have to get one from blackvue or can I order from blackvue? How do you compare this to the thinkware models q800 or the 1000?
Yeah, I do my best to be around in the comments. It may take time, though 😇 You can use any larger SD card. The last one I've tried is a no-name card I got on sale (Alfawise 128GB) and it was fine. I like the Blackvie device more than the thinkware U1000 because of the compact form factor. But both are awesome dashcam makers.
Hi, nice review. I know it's an old one, But how is the boottime for Dr900S? I've have a 750s and thinks it's fairly slow. Have missed some near incidents in the beginning of a drive.
Oh dear, no, 160 + 140 degrees do not give you 300 degrees of coverage - that would only be true if both cameras were mounted back to back in the centre of the car, while in reality, they are mounted 2-3 meters apart. So they offer ca 40% coverage, not 90% around the car.
Originally it's powered by an adapter that you plug in the slot for the cigar lighter. I Use a hard-wire. As for night-vision - if you mean infrared support or something similar - no, there's no such thing.
I just got one of these, idk if it's just me but the connectivity is absolute trash. The wifi keeps turning off/on every 5s, the app keeps throwing errors, the app needs wifi but you also need a wifi connection to connect to the dashcam? And all of the cloud functions just don't seem to work (doesn't connect to wifi in garage).
Why did you install the front camera in your line of site of the driver? And why did you install the rear camera so low, again right into your life of site?
@@TechMishka If there were reasons I'm sure you would have given them by now. Your video leads people to believe the cameras should be installed that way, which is dangerous and irresponsible.
From what I know about my 650 its essentially a Linux server Which is available over your local network. I wrote small package (that I don't really use anymore) that exported the videos when the camera came into range of the WiFi deployed via a raspberry pi. I was thinking of updating to this version as my camera cannot make out any number plates
Can you tell is there a some kind of light on in the front of the camera while it is parking mode? I would like to have a dash cam with visible small red light to let robbers know they are being recorded.
As always this is awesome review. Footage is excellent, front camera is crystal clear. But. That price.. I know this is new and in the dash camera world top of the line technology but the price is really too high. If you want the unit with 128gb card, OBD Port Charger and Power Magic Ultra Battery that whole package is 970$. That is more or less 850 euro and for that money you can buy a car, not a great one but still :D The same thing was with gimbals when they where first released. Prices where really high, at that time gimbals where absolutely incredible technology and now you can buy them from 50-250 euro.
Hey, true that - the price is a bit steep, especially for an end-user. THis is what we recently discussed, indeed you can buy a 15-year old VW polo for that money here where I live :-) This dashcam looks to be perfect for enterprises - has been designed to work in scale and the cloud capabilities are awesome.
I got a 2ch DR900S for US$379 on Amazon with 16gb memory card, along with the Power Magic EZ OBD adaptor for $29. Bought my own 128GB high endurance SD for $40. No need for the battery pack unless you are parked for multiple days in a row, the PMEZ has settings to protect the car battery from excessive drain. Easy to install and I could avoid messing around with the fuse box because of the PMEZ
I have very tinted rearwindow. Can this camera see through dark windows. From outside you can't see through from inside after dark a little bit. Thanks for you're help Peter
Wish it had a camera for inside the car. Which is the sole purpose of why I want a dash cam. Can't seem to find any. Need a good one with a working infrared sensor to be able to see at night. For security reasons while I take people to their destinations.
At 10:20 with that white van ahead of you, I cannot make out the licence plate till he moves to the right lane and is stopped. At which point, I cannot make out the licence plate of the car ahead of you either. It looks like your headlights are washing out the view. Also, when cars go by, I can't make out their licence plates either. That defeats the main purpose of a dash cam.
Yeah, you are right to say that - and I must try looking for a better angle - but at the time doing the review of this dashcam there weren't many mounting options left 😇
@@Ray-gu5kp The plates are well readable here, and I can see others with well working cams too. Could be because of many reasons - angle of the windshield, material of the cockpit, angle of mounting ... Maybe you will find a better model soon enough 😇
@@TechMishka I do not think, in fact I am sure it has nothing to do with "mounting options" since where you mounted it is where the cam should go. At 5:11, the car that is passing you, I cannot read the plate at all and just prior to that, the mini van that was in the same left lane, I could not read that plate as well and that is at a distance I can easily read a plate at. I expect a dash cam to produce the same image my eyes can see at this price. If I buy one of these, I will make it a local buy so that I can return it. I am not spending some $650 for something that does not do the job.
I had the Dr-650 GW 2ch with rear truck camera (outdoor mount) but the 2 ch 900s does not work with the rear truck outdoor camera , now i gotta pay more money again to get the compatible outdoor camera, not hsppy coz i dont care if the rear is leas quality, it should be compatible as it has the same connecting plugs
Richart Asia: Unfortunately, with Blackvue, that heat does not produce a camera or cloud service that’s worth the price you pay. Blackvue cameras are not ready for primetime. Full stop. But, much more of a problem for Blackvue is the unethical business conduct. Despite these ‘free stuff I get in the mail’ reviews that don’t ever tell you about the realities of living with Blackvue products and just how amazingly frustrating it is to actually own Blackvue products, Blackvue seems to only care about its internet marketing campaigns that it runs through UA-camrs making a buck from subscription and NOT in doing the homework necessary to make a viable product. The lies in this video were many. Good Customer Support from Blackvue? That’s a joke. I’ve owned the 650s and 750s Dual channel systems and NEVER got reliable or easy technical support for any of the cams I spent nearly $1,000 to own! Blackvue Cloud Service is a complete joke. Cameras disconnect and reconnect all day long. They don’t stay consistently connected to your HotSpot. I’ve tried the three major data providers (ATT, Sprint and Verizon) and always had connection problems from Blackvue, despite getting 5Mbps to 3Mbps HotSpot connection speed tests all the time. Blackvue produces expensive cameras that never live up to anywhere near the internet marketing campaign hype they promise and that is a fact that many Blackvue customers are well aware of. Complain about Blackvue products to Blackvue and suddenly your cameras start rebooting all by themselves during Korean Business Hours! That’s no coincidence. Their technical support is nearly non-existent and when they stop offering the same old tired solutions that never solve your problem, they simply stop responding to your emails asking them for answers they NEVER provide. I may be stuck with $1,000 worth of crappy Blackvue trash, but I will NEVER make the same mistake of buying Blackvue products again. And, to make matters worse, as if manufacturing inconsistent and completely unreliable cams were not enough, Blackvue recently injected ADs of their own into the data stream of your camera’s videos. So, just after someone hits your vehicle and you need to show the police what happened, you had to watch a Blackvue Advertisement BEFORE being able to watch someone hit your vehicle! It was such a huge problem for customers that Blackvue was forced to remove the in-line ADs. Now, they place an AD that infringes when you launch the phone app, instead of injecting it into the video stream. Rather than focus on making products and services that actually work as they promised (stable cloud service, true 1080p:4K quality and technical support that actually solves problems), they continually pump out subpar cameras and a cloud service that cannot remain connected end-to-end (server to camera). These Blackvue products are not ready for prime time, despite what these “I got free stuff in the mail” UA-cam marketing campaign videos tell you. Way too overpriced based on the headaches and frustration you actually end up installing into your vehicle. From 0 to 5 stars. I have no problem issuing Blackvue 650s and 750s Dual Channel cams a solid 2. Cloud Service gets a solid 1. Customer Support AFTET the sale gets Negative 5 Stars for being literally useless. I mean literally USELESS. Now, that was as honest a review as I could give as a totally frustrated Blackvue customer of nearly $1,000 of my hard earned money.
flipmode00 squad: There is absolutely zero reason to be undivided if those are your two final choices. Hands down, I would NOT be buying Blackvue. Poor video quality that is not what they promise in terms of clarity and pixelation. Non-existent support which you most certainly will need when your cams stop working. My rear camera simply decided to disconnect itself last month. No answer or response from Blackvue, whatsoever. This is the fourth major/critical technical problem I’ve had with both 650s and 750s cams. I do not trust Blackvue to get their 900 series correct, because they came out with it suddenly after coming out with the “new” 750s which I foolishly purchased. Cloud connectivity problems are persistent. Don’t expect consistent connections from the camera to your HotSpot. My HotSpot is very fast and runs exceedingly well on a major LTE network all the time with great coverage no matter where I’ve been. Yet, my Blackvue cams have always dropped their connection to the HotSpot sporadically and nearly every single day, multiple times per day. You never know when the cams will drop off line. Random camera reboots out of nowhere happen all the time. No rhyme or reason. Just “Cloud disconnected” then “HotSpot Unavailable” (even though the HotSpot is available and speed tests between 5Mbps and 30Mbps consistently) followed by an un-commanded camera restart. My next SUV purchase will have dual F800 cams with 360-degrees of coverage. I will never buy from Blackvue again. They do not care that their customers are frustrated with their lack of concern for faulty products and very poor cloud service. F800, easy.
how do you NOT understand what its for? you really don't even have to think about it. have you heard of accidents, insurance fraud, vandalism, and situations where its, he said, she said? a dash cam can actually pay for itself, saving you the cost of your deductible
Hi there! I need your help. Someone has been scratching my car with their key while is parked in my parking lot and this is the second this happened. Is this a good camera to catch the jerk who’s been doing this? If it is, what do I need to do to have this camera recording even when my car is turned off? Thank you so much what the capacity for the card is needed?
It may help if the person is scratching on the front or on the back. Unfortunately the best kind of camera to have is something outdoors, pointing towards the car. Usually 64GB card is a great choice.
With Blackvue a big part of the price seems to be the software. And the certifications they pass for most of the units... These unfortunately cost a lot.
Seems to be quite nice product but the price is sky high. I am not sure what is it for as you can get a really good smart in that price range which will do a lot more. Also memory size options price differences are ridiculous. 32gb for £300 and 64 for £430, 128 for £530 and 256 for £650 😯 Even SSDs are not that expensive for those sizes, not to mention SD cards. But if budget is not a problem then cool.
Yeah, you are totally right. Let's put it like that - I test a lot of dashcams, and I've tried to switch to another one a few times. COming back to Blackvue again and again...
@@bigkaki000 Hey, very good questions! Both support parking mode. As for hardwire kit - yes - but it will have to be from Blackvue. Otherwise you will have to soldier the cable yourself, as they use proprietary connector. There are two extremely good options - Power EZ - to take power from the OBD port; and a few battery pack options. To be reviewed soon.
Also, recording is not instant upon powering the device. This is never mentioned in reviews. I want a dash camera that records within 3 seconds of powering up, this dash camera takes 30 seconds to start recording. Its 2020, this is not good enough
I wish I can get a review that shows the recording at night in a hi way out of the city where there is no street lights, only car lights. I am driving 70 km everyday in dark streets, I have already dash cam, but at night without street lights the cam don't capture good.
This one is among the best to capture complete darkness - as I have the feeling the software makes the night footage overexposed. Overall - these dashcams have very small sensors and it is hard to get awesome night quality. \If you want to go for a cheap camera with relatively bright night capability - I remember the original SJ4000 was quite good about that (note that the SJ4000 has a second edition, and I am talking about the oldest one)
Well yes, but car thieves are aware of such cameras and would pull them out in seconds. Friend of mine had his BMW X5 stolen and all the additional tracking systems were removed in minutes. Mind you these were hidden GPS trackers inside the car and engine bay. Police said that thieves use GPS detectors and can pretty quickly take them out before getting to their main location. Now depending on the car you have you might consider more advanced tracking devices a part from this dash cam.
How does this work in states that have snow accumulation? I live on the east coast. If ice or snow accumulates on the windshield, back and side windows, what good are the cameras if they can't see someone or something hitting the vehicle or anything else happening to the vehicle? What about condensation on the glass? The windows fog up from temperature and humidity changes as well as the interior of the vehicle being warmer than the exterior? It doesn't matter if the system is 4K, 8K or even higher in the future. If there's snow, ice or condensation on the glass, it's all worthless. Am I right or wrong? I've seen countless UA-cam videos and there's no addressing these issues! How about some honesty?!
Hi Timber; Of course you are right - no dash camera will be able to monitor the car if there's snow on top; I have noticed no condensation, even with sudden temperature differences.
5 accident in 4 years, its time for me to get one , none were my fault 4 of them I got hit and one of them was an animal ran in front of my car while driving on the highway at night.
:( Yeah - with having more and more cars on the road it gets tricky. Hopefully you are unharmed after each one of them! I also had an accident recently, and now will always have running modules both on the front and back side of the car. Fingers crossed no more accidents to happen!
@@timelessr9407 very true and after getting the cam one lady hit my car again and she tried to leave, all that happened right in front of me. I had to run and tap at her back window and gave her shit.
Guys and girls, serious warning: This camera is very fragile and it can be rendered pretty much useless if you disconnect it upon initialization or formatting of the SD card, even when you think the initialization is done. Please leave it alone at least 5 minutes before you even begin to think about disconnecting it or removing the power cable, otherwise you will end up with a dead Blackvue with a constant flashing white light.
Don't waste your money you can't even use the SD card unless you subscribe to their jaxi cloud service the cameras are good somewhat the service you get is that of a cheap Walmart camera

sadly I've seen better videos from go pros than even this dash cam... what good is a dash cam if you often enough can't read the license plate at high speed... or with lighting... dunno... for me it feels like throwing money away... at the part where he is driving 80 km/h you can only read the license plate close by because the 4k is upscaled... so much for a good review if you don't understand the tech behind it.. you can't read the plate when the BMW was still a bit further away until he stands right next to you and the yellow car passing by losing the ability to read his license plate pretty quickly... usually this gets even worse if you have a treeline next to the street and the cam is even more busy... if you couldn't find a weak spot.. uff... sorry but then please don't check tech stuff... as even the best cams aren't able to do what they should do as specific chips and so on are only from a frew companies and very old and not up to the task... another tech channel was already reporting about it long time ago... and hasn't changed to this day sadly...
Yeah, that is the obvious/biggest weak point to this camera, and I am a huge fan of Blackvue. I got a 650s like 4 years ago because there were *very* limited options for good dual channel dash cams with night vision (very useful with Uber). Still runs like a champ though. I'm only upgrading because new dash cams have such better detail and ability to read signs and license plates now. The biggest problem is that the market has expanded greatly in the last few years which has been great for consumers. Two and three channel cameras, 1080 or even 4k, software to access the camera, and so many cool features that once set apart companies like Blackvue is now nearly universal. You can find a very quality camera in the $150-200 range. I can't find a good enough reason to go with Blackvue for my next dash cam at that price point. Nothing against it otherwise; it looks like another terrific effort!
No product is perfect therefore a product review without any con's or negative aspects mentioned is interpreted as being biased and untrustworthy. You do NOT mention if you were paid or sponsored to create this "review" but rather presenting this video as unpaid honest personal opinion. If you WERE paid(and I think you were), then this as a PAID ADD and NOT A REVIEW. This needs to be CLEARLY made a point of. Otherwise it just makes you AND the company look sleazy, misleading and unprofessional. You have hidden the phrase "a special thanks to them for giving me the opportunity to test the device" in your 'script', what does that even mean? A special thanks for creating this device so you can go and buy it with your own money and do an honest review? Somehow i don't think so. I wish i could give 2 thumbs down. Not coming back to this channel again.
After using the dashcam for 2 years, I can't point to weaknesses and the fact it is still a top seller means enough. If the video was paid or sponsored - that was about to be disclosed; I have at no point been influence, or edited by Blackvue, and will likely soon test some of their other models. But if there's something like a perfect dashcam - the DR900 is the closest to this definition.
@@TechMishka What does "..that was about to be disclosed" mean? Why can't you just stop beating about the bush and simply answer Yes/No to 2 questions: 1. Did you purchase it with your own funds? 2. Did you receive any payment/gifts/services from BlackVue? I too have been using this exact dash cam for a month now but even I can come up with half a dozen negative aspects about it. E.g. PRICE, No display, No emergency button (keep recording), Unable to change any settings without formatting SD card, Slow to boot up & start recording, Unable to disable greeting speech, concerning amount of heat generated during max quality recording. Having said that, in terms of sheer picture quality and ease of installation, it is one of the best cams on the market.
Ummm saying overpriced without any justification makes no sense. I got this over year ago and yes it did cost me £500 plus £50 professionally fitting it with magic pro box. Because of sheer details captured and intelligent tagging, I have Magee to recouped over £2500 and when I mentioned about the dash cam to my insurance company, they refunded me £57 as my insurance rate has gone down because of this added security feature. There are many cameras ranging from £20 to £1000, but I was looking foe something high end. I compared this against various other ones valued between £250 to £800, BlackVue excelled in many areas.
Wow I love that you can actually see the night sky!
Yeah, the night footage is super bright! Sometimes even a little overexposed, but that is fine.
You’re praising this cam so hard I think you two should get a room together.

Yeah, I do my best to be around in the comments. It may take time, though 😇
You can use any larger SD card.
The 900 series have a rather slow bootup process too... If you have a hardwire this won't bother you though
Is there a way I can add another camera that faces inside but still keep front and rear cameras. Something like single channel?
You can't do that 🤔
Does this have a tracker?
There's a way to link it to a hotspot, but it requires extra money to be spent on cloud account.
@@TechMishka but i meant if im away from my car does the app show where my car is?
Oh dear, no, 160 + 140 degrees do not give you 300 degrees of coverage - that would only be true if both cameras were mounted back to back in the centre of the car, while in reality, they are mounted 2-3 meters apart. So they offer ca 40% coverage, not 90% around the car.
Sounds fair. 🧐
What is it powered by and does it have night vision
Originally it's powered by an adapter that you plug in the slot for the cigar lighter. I Use a hard-wire.
As for night-vision - if you mean infrared support or something similar - no, there's no such thing.
I just got one of these, idk if it's just me but the connectivity is absolute trash. The wifi keeps turning off/on every 5s, the app keeps throwing errors, the app needs wifi but you also need a wifi connection to connect to the dashcam? And all of the cloud functions just don't seem to work (doesn't connect to wifi in garage).
Sounds like you could try connecting from another smartphone.
Why did you install the front camera in your line of site of the driver? And why did you install the rear camera so low, again right into your life of site?
Maybe I am. Or maybe there were certain reasons to do that.
@@TechMishka If there were reasons I'm sure you would have given them by now. Your video leads people to believe the cameras should be installed that way, which is dangerous and irresponsible.
@@JoePuffenbargerII In what way is that dangerous?
@@TechMishka You don't think mounting something to glass directly in your line of site dangerous? Are you familiar at all with road safety basics?

When I use dashcam, usually, after a while the suction cup is not good anymore, and the camera falls down. Scary .
Yeah, pretty unpleasant. Try to wipe it clean and do the same with the windshield./
From what I know about my 650 its essentially a Linux server Which is available over your local network. I wrote small package (that I don't really use anymore) that exported the videos when the camera came into range of the WiFi deployed via a raspberry pi. I was thinking of updating to this version as my camera cannot make out any number plates
Sometimes number plates look weird on dashcams due to reflections 😕
Can you tell is there a some kind of light on in the front of the camera while it is parking mode? I would like to have a dash cam with visible small red light to let robbers know they are being recorded.
The LEDs are on the back side of the unit. The rear module has a while LED that blinks while recording.
Where can I find the parking mode video?
I could share such if you're interested - just send me a reminder email and I will upload somewhere.
That is more or less 850 euro and for that money you can buy a car, not a great one but still :D
The same thing was with gimbals when they where first released. Prices where really high, at that time gimbals where absolutely incredible technology and now you can buy them from 50-250 euro.
Hey, true that - the price is a bit steep, especially for an end-user. THis is what we recently discussed, indeed you can buy a 15-year old VW polo for that money here where I live :-)
This dashcam looks to be perfect for enterprises - has been designed to work in scale and the cloud capabilities are awesome.
Got one today with 128 gb
Enjoy using it. A very good dashcam 😎
I have very tinted rearwindow. Can this camera see through dark windows. From outside you can't see through from inside after dark a little bit. Thanks for you're help Peter
Hi Peter - not sure how dark the windows will be - but yeah - it is visible. My rear window is also dark and image is fine.

What is (hard wire kit)??
Wish it had a camera for inside the car. Which is the sole purpose of why I want a dash cam. Can't seem to find any. Need a good one with a working infrared sensor to be able to see at night. For security reasons while I take people to their destinations.
They do have that. Search: BlackVue DR900S-2CH IR 4K Dash Cam
You can try the Akaso Trace 1 (one module, two cameras), or the Blackvie B2w (review is coming soon)
Can I use my Internet data while I’m streaming video with this dash cam. ?
Yes, this is possible.
I am from India. How to buy.
Flipcart, Amazon.in - perhaps this one is available there?
It has 5g? Does it mean that you can insert a Sim card?
No its for direct wifi between devices
Does the unit have motion detection activated recording when away from car/van??
Yes, it does.
No my friend you are wrong, you are way off on this one, or perhaps you no more than the folks at Blackview, and the Dashcamstore!
@@Ray-gu5kp The plates are well readable here, and I can see others with well working cams too. Could be because of many reasons - angle of the windshield, material of the cockpit, angle of mounting ...
Maybe you will find a better model soon enough 😇
Thank you my friend!
I can’t connect with my phone to get the videos
You can try getting the MicroSD card out and copying the files to a PC.
I currently have a BlackVue 650. Does this 900 use the same plugs? I would like to swap without running the new wires.
Warren, honestly I am not sure about this. Best thing is to shoot them an email - their support usually responds pretty quickly.
No it doesn’t.
750 and 900 have the same plugs , not the 650-s.
I get a "Unsupported video codec" message when I try to view my videos on my mac, using the black view viewer. What am I doing wrong ?
Try VLC player - it should work fine.
@@TechMishka What is VLC player ? Is that a phone app ?

Omg! This dashcam market heating up....
It is! This model is not brand new, but is very good one! And Blackvue have awesome solutions for parking mode and hard-wiring. Soon to be shown 🤖🤩
I am so undecided between blackvue, thinkware and Iroadx9. its killing me lol
@@flipmode00 You are shooting for the best 🙃😊
F800, easy.
Excellent video. Pls. supply link to instalations.
I have no detailed demo for the installation, but it is well described in the user guide and is quite easy with this one.

It will probably be able to see.
Most of these dash cams are used for recording road accidents...
@@TechMishka I was wondering, bc kinda was interested for car security against vandalism opposed to road accidents.

Hi there! I need your help. Someone has been scratching my car with their key while is parked in my parking lot and this is the second this happened. Is this a good camera to catch the jerk who’s been doing this? If it is, what do I need to do to have this camera recording even when my car is turned off? Almost $500
Its amazing how much a good quality products cost.

I dont know how much profit is enough.
With Blackvue a big part of the price seems to be the software. And the certifications they pass for most of the units... These unfortunately cost a lot.
Where are they made please
Seems to be quite nice product but the price is sky high. I am not sure what is it for as you can get a really good smart in that price range which will do a lot more. Also memory size options price differences are ridiculous. 32gb for £300 and 64 for £430, 128 for £530 and 256 for £650 😯 Even SSDs are not that expensive for those sizes, not to mention SD cards.
But if budget is not a problem then cool.
Yeah, you are totally right.
Let's put it like that - I test a lot of dashcams, and I've tried to switch to another one a few times. COming back to Blackvue again and again...
Can you connect your hardwire kit to it?
And does both the cameras front and back support parking mode?
@@bigkaki000 Hey, very good questions!
Both support parking mode. As for hardwire kit - yes - but it will have to be from Blackvue. Otherwise you will have to soldier the cable yourself, as they use proprietary connector.
There are two extremely good options - Power EZ - to take power from the OBD port; and a few battery pack options. To be reviewed soon.
Tech4All amaizing review and thanks alot for replying to me! Cant wait for your next videos about this cameras
Also, recording is not instant upon powering the device. This is never mentioned in reviews. I want a dash camera that records within 3 seconds of powering up, this dash camera takes 30 seconds to start recording. Its 2020, this is not good enough
It takes around 10 seconds, depending on the power source. If you have parking mode - it practically starts as soon as you enter the car...
So if someone steals my car I can track it through the dash cam with the gps?
Well yes, but car thieves are aware of such cameras and would pull them out in seconds. Friend of mine had his BMW X5 stolen and all the additional tracking systems were removed in minutes. Mind you these were hidden GPS trackers inside the car and engine bay.
Police said that thieves use GPS detectors and can pretty quickly take them out before getting to their main location.
Now depending on the car you have you might consider more advanced tracking devices a part from this dash cam.
@@cristiantrifan7871 they also removed them from the engine bay wow , thank you for the info

Guys and girls, serious warning: This camera is very fragile and it can be rendered pretty much useless if you disconnect it upon initialization or formatting of the SD card, even when you think the initialization is done. Please leave it alone at least 5 minutes before you even begin to think about disconnecting it or removing the power cable, otherwise you will end up with a dead Blackvue with a constant flashing white light.

sadly I've seen better videos from go pros than even this dash cam... what good is a dash cam if you often enough can't read the license plate at high speed... or with lighting... dunno... for me it feels like throwing money away... at the part where he is driving 80 km/h you can only read the license plate close by because the 4k is upscaled... so much for a good review if you don't understand the tech behind it.. you can't read the plate when the BMW was still a bit further away until he stands right next to you and the yellow car passing by losing the ability to read his license plate pretty quickly... usually this gets even worse if you have a treeline next to the street and the cam is even more busy...
if you couldn't find a weak spot.. uff... sorry but then please don't check tech stuff... as even the best cams aren't able to do what they should do as specific chips and so on are only from a frew companies and very old and not up to the task... another tech channel was already reporting about it long time ago... and hasn't changed to this day sadly...

Why can't you just stop beating about the bush and simply answer Yes/No to 2 questions:
