Of all the 40k imperial guard songs. This one is the most real to me. This song isn't about the glory of the Cadians, or the dower of Krieg. This song is about the men and women fighting in the guard knowing they stand in a meat grinder but still fight on. Knowing that they must fight for everything even if they get nothing.
What about Stringstorms Krieg Song? Mostly about the sin they believe they carry and how they try to go about "repaying their debt" and how "worthless" they think themself to be.

Ok, on a more serious note, this might be one of Stringtorm's finest works. The XXth is blessed by the Emperor to have them working on it. The tone, the references, the lyrics & instrumentals... they all fit together in a very XXth-y fashion.
Didn’t think I’d be almost jumping at the opportunity to grab a lasgun and screaming “FOR THE XXTH!” While charging a trench line but hey, life’s unpredictable. In any case, good work to both Rimmy and Stringstorm for creating such heavenly music! May the XXth not be slaughtered to the last again!

The sentiment of the song is something that we desperately need more of in 40K, having fun and a joke in spite of the circumstances but also believing in your buddies and what you’re doing. Something about the lyrics of the song lends itself so well to a military unit wiped out countless times, but still remaining on paper only to be reinforced and reorganized each time until they stopped keeping track of their own name. Happy Birthday Rimmy. This, this was really good.
The idea that there is a regiment of guardsmen out there that gets wiped out and replenished with other regiments so often that the administratum just gives it a variable instead to save on paperwork is unironically a very 40k thing and I really want GW to make the XXth canon now. Edit: I realize that I basically just described the Lamenters minus augments.
It also reminds me of the Cain novels and how the Valhallans that Cain served with were originally two different regiments that had each been halved in combat, one fully male and one fully female. The 301st and 296th had been forced into a single unit and Cain had the brilliant idea of just combining the two numbers to make them the 597th.
Cadian XXth is the story of an Astra Militarum regiment that, by some sheer unfortunate circumstances, always has new recruits inherit the memories of the men and women they replace. Instead of a battle hardened regiment of those who can overcome any obstacle based on skill and experience, it's led to the regiment being filled with cynical arseholes. Discipline and order are hard to maintain when, knowing they'll be back later anyway, the order of battle often devolves into "fuck around and find out" tactics. That this strange, numberless, reincarnating regiment still exists and hasn't been properly filed or purged is down to several errors in the administratum that never get corrected because no one wants to admit the mistake. @@classicalpotato Been stuck in tradoc for 6 months. Have another 5 months left before I even get to my unit. And my god is it true even from my short time here so far.
Is it weird that this is by FAR the most inspiring Warhammer 40k song I've heard yet? Something about the honesty of it. For every Cain out there, there's a couple fuckups just trying not to explode and live to the next meal. And lets be honest, a sense of humor is the last and best defense against an uncaring universe. RIMMY! If you see this! ""There's not a thing we can't overcome with spite" sounds like a great morale motto for the Cadian XXth don't you think?
"tough our path is not always right, there's not a thing we can't overcome with spite" My man, I fucking LOVED this song, and have been following your videos from a while.

Didn't even have to get past the first 40 seconds before I could see this is pure gold. Immediate thumbs up! "Between a cluster bomb and a cluster fuck"- Man, that really got me. Edit: Also, just read the notes. Happy Birthday, Rimmy! May your health never fail, may satisfaction match your troubles, and may every fuckup be met with laughter.
To me this is more than just a Warhammer song or a song for my Friends in the XXth. It's an Anthem for every ArmA unit I've ever been in. I look forward to the next time I find myself by you guy's side.
The song is very catchy and actually sounds very inspirational. Without a doubt, all the hard work you and the others put into it (if there was anybody else) was not wasted. P.S Happy Birthday Rimmy.
I am going to be honest: I thought it was called XXth because they were just a division that no one cared about, as guardsman that are easily replaced they weren't even given a designation, or were so insignificant that it was censored, as there was no reason to know their designation when reviewing their accomplishments
This regiment is the exception that proves the rule on Cadia of "If their names are remembered, they will never be forgotten". The casualties are so bad, they've been reconstituted so many times they don't bother remembering the name anymore. It's like armour - there's no point getting swanky bling and fancy shit if it's just going to get ripped to chunks by enemy fire.
This is genuinely beautiful and I feel like of all the Warhammer lore which is created by the fandom the XXth should be at *least* mentioned! Also I absolutely adore that artwork.
"For every one that falls, another ten rise up to take their place' - that's a beautiful sentiment as you aren't the corpse they replace." Damn... that's deep. Accurate like you won't believe even discounting how hopelessly grimderp 40K is - it sounds badass to be able to ignore losses, but every loss is a father or son, mother or daughter, brother or sister... a farmer, a factory worker, a family (wo)man, a friend. Sometimes you just gotta grit and eat the losses, but it's never something to be proud of. And then it goes full meme that the only mistake is not playing and friendly fire, stupidity making people want to cry, etc. :D
Its explained in the song why stuff like that is needed "Just smile - what are we without humor in horror?" and "Our laughter - Keeps the dread from out of earshot" You can laugh or your can cry. They choose to laugh.
"It's not insubordination And it's not having your back But trusting your calls is like waiting for a heart attack" Someone has a butter bar they haven't broken in yet
I don't know how, I don't know where, but somehow in the hell that is life, this became a comfort song for me. Just... the feelings of being replaceable, the worry that they'll be able to shift the world up once I'm out of here, the stupidity of the higher echelons, and the only fucking good in this world being the joy you get with your friends and squadmates. Just... fuck.
Welp im going to loop this song for hours as its just that grand. I hope You be able to make a compilations video with all the previous Cadian XXth moments with the song. Praise the Emperor!
Let's go more warhammer 40k music for my warhammer 40k list and amazing job (I don't care if this is not all serious like most warhammer music it's still epic)
goddamn rimmy and friends, goodjob! "As I try to impress on the young whelps in my charge these days, it isn't the scarlet sash and the fancy hat that makes you a commissar, it's the way you wear them. The troops you serve with are never going to like you, but if you can get them to respect you that can be almost as good. Remember, you're going to spend most of your career on a battlefield with them, and they've all got guns, so making them think you're a liability is never going to be a very good idea".
"the bolt pistol, a fine work of machinery and an even better killing machine.... But I mostly use it to warm up my hands" -some madlad from the Krieg regiment I played with that one time... Fuck snow.
Great work Remy I just got off at 12 hours shift with this blaring in my ears for the last 5 hours to keep me going keep up the great work I love you channel
I don't know much about Warhammer. But Id likes to think that they made immortal soldiers but none of them really followed any rules, and they couldn't execute them so they just let them run around the universe, fucking people up, and left them alone. And that's the back story of the Cadien XXth, they tried to number them, but they stopped giving them numbers after the 8th squad death.
It’s more or less a regiment that has been reinforced and supplied so many times the original members are long gone to the point no one remembers the original number
This song seems to perfectly capture the shitshow that is Arma milsim, the song even starts all proper when everything is mostly in order and it just devolves as the mission continues, Relish in the suck and keep fighting!
"Gentlemen, if you step on a mine, congrats you just disarmed a mine, if you get shot, congrats you just made the enemy waste a bullet, if you die, congrats you get to join the sandbag division"
Honestly, it's grim, but with how grim 40k gets, it really is a beautiful sentiment. Even in death, you serve the cause in a beneficial way.

I am a currently serving member of the U.S army and this song more then any song made in the tribute to the military defines our mentality. "EVERYTHING IS SO FUCKED ITs HILARIOUS"
_'Theres not a thing we can't overcome with spite'_
If that's not the fuckin Army I don't know what is lol
@@classicalpotato Been stuck in tradoc for 6 months. Have another 5 months left before I even get to my unit. And my god is it true even from my short time here so far.

@@bluenight104 Hey the good part is that you almost always get weekends off and you get 72s and 96s during holidays the government recognizes
Man, I remember when this channel was small.
It's been a long journey to this huh?
Make Digby sing this as a Commisar. It should both amuse the guardsmen and raise their morale.
And shake the heretics
Now I have that in my head
Now we just need these guys in tts and I can die happy.
Corvus and Vulkan have a net loss of military forces by including the XXth in their crusade.......but the job would still get done.
@Noneya Business Hell yeah!
Who's gonna tell him?
Is it weird that this is by FAR the most inspiring Warhammer 40k song I've heard yet? Something about the honesty of it. For every Cain out there, there's a couple fuckups just trying not to explode and live to the next meal.
And lets be honest, a sense of humor is the last and best defense against an uncaring universe.
RIMMY! If you see this! ""There's not a thing we can't overcome with spite" sounds like a great morale motto for the Cadian XXth don't you think?
this makes me appreciate the 90% Casualty Rate missions more
"tough our path is not always right, there's not a thing we can't overcome with spite"
My man, I fucking LOVED this song, and have been following your videos from a while.
Through Xeno fire, Through the heretics lines,
Through the hungry maws, Through the Eye of Terror,
Cadia Stands! The Emperor Protects!
The Guard Serves!

🐍 no step on snek! 🇺🇸🇭🇰
No step on snek. Unless it's a xeno snek!
@Kaydon Rose traitor. Unless you're not American. Then it doesn't count.
@Kaydon Rose *Takes breath*

*Smiles*
*Loads bolt pistol*
Cadia stands!

🐍 Step on snek
@Kaydon Rose the reason why you don’t step on snek is because the snek likes to bite back.
Stringstorm came right out of the gates swinging with this one
genuinely the best song they ever made
Didn't even have to get past the first 40 seconds before I could see this is pure gold.
I wonder what happens if the whole regiment sings in unison when fighting the Black legion? This is glorious!
The heretics shake.
Heretic: I would rather fight the kreig, then we wouldn't have to fight chao
This Song is Dope, and Happy Birthday Rimmy!
"Also Friendly Fire" I thought was hilarious.

"Are you sure **we** aren't Chaos?" Is such a good line, given that the Chaos Gods revel in even the tiniest scrap of their domain
The first minute of the song sums up the Imperial Guard pretty damn well.
This sounds like a song written BY the Imperial Guard instead of being written for them.
It is both, naturally
I see you contacted an imperial saint for this project, well chosen.
Meanwhile the neighboring Krieg guardsmen regiment:
''I am a guard and I'm digging a hole, diggy diggy hole, digging a hole!''
This is actually one of the best songs I have ever heard
To me this is more than just a Warhammer song or a song for my Friends in the XXth. It's an Anthem for every ArmA unit I've ever been in.
I look forward to the next time I find myself by you guy's side.
This was a rad thing to see premiered live. Happy Birthday Rimmy!
I love the pervasive sense of optimism this song instills in the audience.
The song is very catchy and actually sounds very inspirational. Without a doubt, all the hard work you and the others put into it (if there was anybody else) was not wasted.
P.S Happy Birthday Rimmy.
This better be Fusterclucks new theme song Rimmy!
HENSHIN
yes it should have been
This is honestly fucking amazing, happy birthday Rimmy, I didn't expect we'd be getting a birthday present too.
This is going in the playlist with the other string storm stuff.
In the words of Lord Adorable:
This is funny to me
"Savor calm, this shit gets messy!"
That line always rocks me, so so good.
I was listening Stringstorm just now when this reached my notifications, it must be a work of Da Emprah
DA EMPRAH PROOTECS
@@kriegertechpriest7011 FAR DO EMPREAHWAAAAAAAGH!
This is genuinely beautiful and I feel like of all the Warhammer lore which is created by the fandom the XXth should be at *least* mentioned!
Also I absolutely adore that artwork.
This song really helped me learn how to count.
Honestly whoever did the art did a good job the song is also really good captures the XXth perfectly
"For every one that falls, another ten rise up to take their place' - that's a beautiful sentiment as you aren't the corpse they replace."
Damn... that's deep.
Its explained in the song why stuff like that is needed "Just smile - what are we without humor in horror?" and "Our laughter - Keeps the dread from out of earshot"
You can laugh or your can cry. They choose to laugh.
"It's not insubordination
And it's not having your back
But trusting your calls is like waiting for a heart attack"
Someone has a butter bar they haven't broken in yet
That background art reminds me of the orange and blue Battlefield series artworks, and that makes me want a 40k themed Battlefield game.
As a new player to arma, I felt all of that.
At least they has song to listen before into battle..
It has feel of folk songs basically .
Happy birthday Rimmy!
My pet kitten named fluffy died today.. Please pray for them!
I hope they are in heaven and having fun..
May the emporer protect you and your cats

This brings glory to whomever we are serving today
I don't know how, I don't know where, but somehow in the hell that is life, this became a comfort song for me.
Just... the feelings of being replaceable, the worry that they'll be able to shift the world up once I'm out of here, the stupidity of the higher echelons, and the only fucking good in this world being the joy you get with your friends and squadmates.
Just... fuck.
every time something shitty happens to us me and the boys say: "we are just building up our lore"
Rummy needs these guys and the musical power to keep moving forward
This is Where Legends Cried...............
Tears of Joy and Awe
Welp im going to loop this song for hours as its just that grand. I hope You be able to make a compilations video with all the previous Cadian XXth moments with the song. Praise the Emperor!
Yes a better why to keep away chao
I love this community, you'd never expect Stringstorm and Rimmy doing anything, but here we are.
This song is such a meme rimmy oh my God
I can almost hear a demonic airship spazzing out all over the sky as Rimmy takes potshots at it with a bolt-pistol...
Helluva secret, Happy Birthday nerd!
"the bolt pistol, a fine work of machinery and an even better killing machine.... But I mostly use it to warm up my hands" -some madlad from the Krieg regiment I played with that one time... Fuck snow.
The Cadian XXth will beg Rimmy and Digby to sing this
I am pretty sure that Stringstorm is an imperial saint at this point
I hear digby, zoran, rimmy, and many more. I think that all of the fusterclucks participated in this, and that makes all the mire special.
Great work Remy I just got off at 12 hours shift with this blaring in my ears for the last 5 hours to keep me going keep up the great work I love you channel
His birthday and he is the one giving gifts. What a lad.
Yoooo we got the same birthday!
Song ligit gave me goosebumps and a good five minutes of laughing
Shame about Stringstorm, but at least this is on Rimmy's channel. That makes me feel better about listening to it.
The Kriegers love the song man. Thanks for this.
this is the best song of the year and the peak of what UA-cam has to offer.
Hearing this as we shoot a giant airship in flames is something that I will remember forever. Great stuff my dude
Just earned a sub, good work you glorious Australian
This song seems to perfectly capture the shitshow that is Arma milsim, the song even starts all proper when everything is mostly in order and it just devolves as the mission continues, Relish in the suck and keep fighting!
Huh... Rimmy shares my BDay...
Happy BDay mate, hope you enjoyed it. Great song, fun lyrics...
The op this was in was absolutely fantastic
Happy birthday bro
