I've seen several of the lantern diy's. Yours is by far the best. The tiered blocks and the handle with the copper and thick rope give it a very "expensive" , classy vibe. Very nice.

I'm new to diy and doing some of the diy project's for my home. I must say I did do this pattern but did mine a little different didn't have enough window sticks for all my window's lol. It did turn out like I said I did it a little different. I will attempt this again for my Sunday school class where the young youth girls love to craft!! Thank you very much for sharing... Love it great job. A suggestion for the lid is to put on the inside of the lid just a little bit smaller than the circumference of all four sides put a piece of poster board and glue it on there so that the lid does not move side to side.
Very cute! It looks so good! I am glad you used the nicer thicker frames from DT. I've seen this done with the thin black ones and it doesn't look as nice as this one! I love seeing DT DIYs. Great Video!

It came out very very nice! One could also use the Jenga blocks from the dollar tree in place of the wooden blocks on the top and bottom of the lanterns and the nautical rope from the dollar tree could be used as well, just a thought. Beautiful lantern!

I worked at Home Depot for 3 yrs. Lumber dept. will make 2 free cuts, after that there is a minimal fee per cut. Cute DIY project!
