  • Whaly 370 boat showing how easy launch and recovery is. Note the wheels are just touching the water so no worries with hubs in water.

      They are great boats and very stable. Paste - Whaly 370 testas - into UA-cam to see how stable they are and also look at - Łodzie WHALY testy -to see how tough they are. I got this as it has a C rating for 4 people which is very good for a 12 foot boat.

    Looks like a great and light boat, how does it handle chop. Will it be suitable for Kent coast? Thanks 👍

      They are great stable boats. Very robust and very sea worthy. However we found it could take a small amount of water spray from waves or wake from another boat over the front. This was never an issue and we never felt in danger just had a wet trouser seat. This can be minimised by shifting weight to the back as much as possible and minimise going out on really choppy days. We used ours mainly in an estuary and close in inshore on calm'ish days. I am sure they can be used in different conditions but we are more fair weather boaters and it had to be enjoyable for my partner. My only criticism would be lack of storage which is why we used the white storage bins you can see at the back of the boat. We loved the boat and only changed as we wanted to go further along the coast.

      @@robertpaterson7311 Thanks for getting back, Robert. I might pull the trigger on whaly, not sure if I should go for 370 or 435. How many people can 370 cope with easily? Also if you don't mind, can you tell me what boat did you replace whaly with? Appreciate it.

      @@GurpreetSingh-op3ie Hi, we have taken 5 people out to sea (inshore) which was fine on a fairly calm day. I am sure the boat could handle rougher sea and be totally safe but I never tried it.
      We then went for a Pioner 14 Active - ua-cam.com/video/cc9U0wg5tI0/v-deo.html
      Which is still plastic, a drier boat (but still could be a bit wet) with storage and we went for a steering wheel. Only rated for 3 people at sea and heavier to handle on to the trailer. Liked this boat but have got a Terhi 475 BR but have not done a UA-cam review so far.
      I find the perfect boat for me does not exist so it is trying to find a boat that hopefully does most of what you want to use it for.

    Thanks for the info rob i liVe on the east coast and intend to use it in the estuaries near felixstowe and harwich so it should be ok, what size engine did you have on yours, most of the videos on UA-cam show them fitted with a 15hp.

    • @robertpaterson7311
      @robertpaterson7311  3 роки тому

      I put a 15hp on ours also. We made a mistake of going for a cheap engine and should have spent the extra as it would have saved a lot of hassle. The storage boxes we used are pet dried food containers and fitted well at the back of the boat. We also had rowlocks fitted but they were too high for normal oars so if you have them fitted make sure normal oars will work. If there is anything else please ask.

    James - Sorry just seen your question but do not seem to be able to reply to it.
    James asked - "what boat do you have now?" - After the Whaley I bought a Honwave which was good as I could put in car but got a leak in a tube and only realised when out at sea. Then I bought a Pioner Active 14 ( ua-cam.com/video/cc9U0wg5tI0/v-deo.html ) which was good but found to be a wet boat. So now I have a Terhi 475 BR.

      Hi David, I do not have this any more. They are a great boats and really stable, so brilliant if you are standing to cast. They are tuff so no worries when landing on beaches. The down side, for me, was lack of storage and the nose is low so can get water spray over the front when going through choppy water or other boat wake. I used 2 'Dry Feed Containers' at the back of the boat and worked well for extra storage. Hopefully the video shows how easy the boat is to launch and recover. I mainly fished with this boat out from Exmouth and trailed it a lot to Fowey. Sorry about lack of videos. Most of the time while travelling I was looking at the fishfinder but have just found one and uploaded it - ua-cam.com/video/KMbTW9mK6ww/v-deo.html - They are good and safe but could be wet in choppy seas. I sold it to a sailing school who are going to use it as a safety boat. Hope that helps.

    • @robertpaterson7311
      @robertpaterson7311  5 років тому

      It is a standard Indespension COASTER MICRO (BUNKED) trailer. I was going to get a roller trailer but advised against it as the bunks support a plastic boat better. I found spraying the bunks occasionally with a silicon spray helps the boat slide on and off. They are great boats and the one in the video is up for sale on Gumtree.

      Probably would help but it is only the lower part of the bow touches on launch and recovery but once on the bunks it all stays clear of the trailer. Also if you want to dunk the wheels it will probably not be an issue, but I do not have this boat or trailer now so can not try your suggestion. Cheers Bob
