Jackson Chourio Blue Wave /150 sold for $393 last night. Top 5 rookie auto color match /150 won't pay for a jumbo or a Breakers Delight box. Let that sink in folks
2024 Topps Chrome is immensely overproduced...including rookies that havent and probably wont even play a game in the MLB. Its a corporate money grab as there are way too many breakers that buy them up on Fanatics live, Whatnot, etc. As a regular collector, you have to go in knowing you are likely losing 80% of your money. Appreciate the content!

The Jeter box was nice and both orioles autos were solid, but man, Topps is ripping us off. Most of those boxes weren't worth $100

As long as the high-end card sales keep being able to hold the prices high, I doubt it’ll come any time soon. And if it does, it’ll drop like $40 a box lol not enough to move the needle for us normal folk
@@Delmiester yeah, that and the other major problem are the giant breaker channels busting dozens of cases each day.. what incentive do they have to lower it when each channel has 500 guys ready to gamble because the break is more "affordable" when broken into teams or players
After spending too much on cards the last 2 years I think I’m gonna unload a lot for fear of this. Even if it never “bursts” I think the chances of most of my cards losing value is better than them gaining value.

@@jp82cards30 agreed, if sales don’t really get disrupted and there aren’t boxes sitting on shelves for years, what reason does Topps, or any big distributors have to lower the cost? And I have gotten into many breaks over the years, not so much in ‘24 because I can’t justify the price for return. When you need a case hit, or some type of legendary auto just to break even, not a gamble I want to take.

This is nuts, but if not for sets like these, we either don't get $59 complete sets or no hobby at all. I do wonder where these players are getting all the time and energy to be autographing with what is literally 10,000 cards plus like Masyn Winn has.

These are $700 per box now. And I get them for about the same price I sell them for. I add 3.5 percent PayPal fees plus shipping. I don’t set the prices so I don’t know why you’d leave a nasty comment accusing me of price gouging
Both the breakers delight and the jumbo cost more than my monthly mortgage payment ( taxes and insurance included).

@@Delmiester in a small town in PA. If you know how to work on a fixer upper, you can find deals. Please understand, when I moved in the kitchen drain was a hose with a funnel on it going to the basement.
@@altonT man, that is something I’ve always heard was a good idea if you had the resources to work on it, which I don’t. I live in Oregon and housing is pretty bonkers all over, crazy to me the difference depending on location.

That’s what I do. The market is pretty low so you can get some steals on PSA 9 and PSA 10 cards. Rather pick up 5 Tatum psa 10 for 500
Getting base cards are sometimes important. I had a Dave and Adam's group break in 2012 Gypsy Queen, where I drew the Angels. I noticed something watching the livestream that the breaker didn't, so I asked for the base cards. I got the one photo variation in the case of Albert Pujols. Now, those 2012 Mike Trout cards were worth asking for.
This is like someone selling you a “custom mystery box” on eBay and selling it for $500.
This being the only thing you can pull the Griffey out of is deceitful and topps should be ashamed. They're not saying anything about it. 😒
Legend autos are exclusive to breakers delight. How is that deceitful. Breakers delight has a few exclusives to them.

Its labeled as such on the odds sheet. So where is the deceit?? If you don't look into a product to see where certain variations and the like are found then you ignorance is nobody's fault but your own.

This is a no-go for many of us. The hobby is pulling away from the average collector more and more every day.
I’ll never understand how a breaker’s delight box is more than a jumbo. Same amount of autos, so in practice you literally get more value from the base cards in a jumbo. Same deal with Bowman BD boxes. Unless there’s a specific effort to put bigger hits in BDs, I see no point in spending the extra money on them.
Edit I only now just realized that you get one less auto with chrome BD boxes. I stand by my argument.

This sample size is big enough to know that they are about $400 too much. This is bordering on unethical.
15:48 I never comment but when I saw a taylor kohlwey mets autograph as a mets fan whos watched over 95% of games this year I had to Google who the heck he was, this dude never played even a single game for the mets played 11 games for their AAA affiliate and has been released since april, there is no way his autograph should be in ANY products let alone a $500 product, that is robbery by topps and should be unacceptable

So you pay to be included in a break but they won’t ship your base cards if that’s all you get? They just keep the money and then single the cards out on eBay or what?
I’m not sure what they do with the base cards but I’m not interested in breaks where all cards do not ship

The first box you opened has literally $50 in cards in it. Shameful Topps . Tire fire of a product. These boxes are $700 min in Canada.

I collected cards from 1986 - 2006 and saw a major boom and bust in the hobby. Living through the junk wax era was painful and cards of that time frame didn’t hold much value. The box prices of then vs now is crazy. When this bubble finally pops, people are going to feel some real pain.
Yep it's coming soon. The card manufacturers are pressuring dealers,breakers,card shop owners to step up their game. Buy more product. Open up more stores. Promote their product. While they print the sh$t out of the cards. It's comming soon repet of the junk wax era.
Topps hyped this product to the moon and really played hard on people's fomo. The price point for these boxes are God awful for the return. At some point Topps and Panini need to be looked at for unfair and shady business practices

No way to cut it - these are a rip off. Series 1, 2, and now chrome have been rip offs. Big league was my favorite this year for gods sakes. Not just bc of the price.
Buy one of these and get about $50 return ( -450 ). Buy a blaster for 40 get about $10 return ( -30 ). Blasters are the way to go if you are only looking to rip some cards.
This year Topps chrome offers a great opportunity to learn about players who you otherwise would not know about. (/s) I have a suspicion that Chrome blasters are even worse this year but we will see I guess. I have a suspicion that good autos and numbered cards have been disproportionately distributed to hobby products but maybe not.

I enjoy your program as always, sir. However, Topps cards for quite sometime have not been worth for the price we have to pay. I've seen and, had better cards with Donross, I know investors are trying to stay with Topps but, I don't see the value. I opened some cards in monster, hobby boxes in the 2024 Heritage and had several bent corners, on the back it was shiny of 25% of my opens while the front was very dull. I'm done with Topps, as the new name in investing for me as a collector over 50 years is Donross. My loyalty used to be topps.

What’s the logic behind the redemption card mail ins as opposed to just getting an autographed Jeter card in the pack already? I’m old but new to the modern hobby. Also, did they accidentally add an extra zero to the end of that price or are those really $500 each lol? What world did I wake up in?

There should be no base autos in this product. They should all be numbered. Getting 15 bucks if cards for 500 bucks is worse than the lottery lol

Only Bad about these boxes is you don’t see any rookie refractors or # colors, It’s all base veteran parallels. I’m sticking with Jumbos!
I used to just bust boxes at my local card shop. Now i just buy a blaster and usually get nothing.
Friday is my trash pick up day, which is where these boxes should go. That was rough to watch, but appreciate the content!

Prices are too rich for me but if your gonna drop 5 bills on this or jumbo. Jumbo seems to make a bit more sense. Chrome base are worth something, and you have the chance of getting maybe 2 or 3 buy back cards if your lucky. Plus one more auto.
I don't see the reasoning behind spending that on a Breakers Delight when the jumbo is the same price and actually offers more than these.

at $500 a box each card would have to sell for at least $50 to break even after any sort of seller and paypal fees. That's insane.

Why are players like Blake Rutherford still being included in sets, he’s playing in an unaffiliated league. I know other teams also have to have players like this. It’s ridiculous he was in series 2 let alone chrome with a 500 dollar box.
Kohlwey was released from his AAA contract 2 months ago. Never played in the majors as a Met. Currently on the Long Island Ducks roster. But, on the IL. Why was even put in the set

The should ship the base....youre paying for the whole team not just the "hits". Also, definition of a hit is different for everybody.
