Magic sponge and/ or pink stuff. ‘Pink stuff’ is an abrasive paste for helping agitate in ground stains on hard surfaces. Watch for scratching though on some surfaces but should work good for the plastic .
Hey dude, I cant lie, out of every automotive channel I watched, you have been the most useful and informative. Partly because you are using tools and products that everybody can access at home and mainly for me anyway, similar ones that I already use, but after watching your videos, I know how to utilise them better, but also because you are really clear and describe things well. Love videos like this, keep them up. Cheers
Thanks for the kind words dude, very much appreciated! I’m glad you find the videos useful, that’s why I started making videos was to help people out 👍🏻
Magic sponges are abrasive, they are a great tool with interiors but you should be careful with sensitive materials. It is extremely easy to go trough the thin layer of colourants on your steering wheel leather with a magic sponge.
Oh for sure, that’s why I keep the focus off the road in the winter 😂. This merc is an absolute beast and you can tell when cleaning it how much better build it is than a focus 😂👍🏻
I agree as I run a 211 aswell build quality is way up there. But I also have a 190e and 2 w126,s. Build quality on all of them is amazing. My 211 is so easy to keep clean even being same colour as yours. Top job y the way and like your work!!
Have a try with a Clay bar, meguiars compound or nail varnish remover for those hard stains on the plastic. That car looks so mint considering it’s age. You do a fab job!
I’ve had this hard plastic spots and used a Magic Eraser to get the bulk off and then a “medium” bristle toothbrush to clean out the texture. I use an organic cleaner called Remove.
Picked some up the other day 👍🏻, must say I’m impressed at how well they work! The new ST I’m about to rebuild has a manky steering wheel so going to use it on that when it comes time to detail it 😃👍🏻
@@DaveRebuilds you will love them i use them to give the first wash down now of the interior of a filthy car with just water great for windows of a smokers car aswell.
Mothers VLR is one of the best degreaser I can recommend for oil and grime. Mr.Clean magic sponge is the best solution for stains or paints on plastic. But, please don't use magic sponge on wood, media player screen or gauge as it may scratch. And, please do not use same brush on all surfaces :) I strongly recommend magic sponge to use gently on steering wheel after you degrease the oil. It will be matt and natural.
as for the black marks in the end of the video,I suggest you to use regular dish sponge! put some dish soap, mix it with warm watter, and gently rub it on the plastic! circular moves, and you shall have a good result! I used to do that a lot,and it worked quite well for me!
As some others have said, a Magic eraser should take care of that. pre soak them in water first, squeeze the water out and then be generous with the APC :)

The one thing I noticed that you didn’t look at was the driver’s seatbelt, the beige/cream ones always get grubby. Do you have a good method for cleaning them.

I know Chrisfix did an awesome video on how to clean seat belts, or I can post a video at some point on how to do it?
