Alpha is the best performing & safest wing ever and will be regardless... !
How does it compare to Mescal 4?
Thank you Flybubble. I like to add for the other comments: for a new student get this glider. It is safe glider but still make sure you know what direction is the wind and land as you were always toughed, etc.... The safety in this wing is that it recover fast if it collapse and it doesn't stall easily. I started with Low 'B' but I would of start with this Alpha 6 then continue to Epsilon 8 and then think about some EN 'C' later
what about bright 5 by gradient?
Many thanks! (Alpha 4 owner)
great summary , thanks for that , on which town is that beautiful flying place?
Do you know what finesse this wing have ?
Where is flying in this video?!
Can I buying. In india?
thank you! Good info.
It's pretty small. Must be because it's a EN-A wing?
+ParaglidingManiac No it's quite big, just like all EN A wings (for any given weight range). It's just low aspect.
Both wings are great, I have alpha 6 and friend sonata.
Perfect
I am doing EP and CP training next month. I am looking at the Alpha 6, Mojo 5, Gin Bolero 6 and Skywalk Mescal 5. I am 6'1" tall and weigh 97!Kg. I did skydiving years ago when I still lived in Cape Town. Which wing would be the best to choose?
Is that a Triumph or a Honda ? Where are you doing your course ?
Advance PI 2 or Phi Symphonia - I would suggest ( look at the reviews ).
Regards from R1 man...
@@istra70 Honda VFR750. I have read every review, and watched almost every youtube review as well as manufacturer marketing videos. The problem is I can't yet fly so I have no idea as to what I should buy?
@@istra70 I am doing my course in Spain. I am a bit worried about buying a wing that is beyond my capabilities. For now I am going to focus on a EN A wing.
@@theflyinggauntlet Yes, go trough the course first , and while doing it or after, while you are still there in school, you may get the opportunity to try few different wings. Wings are expensive so you can't buy them every year as you progress.....Also you will quickly get skills and get used to flying and don't want to be stuck with some flying mattress. Just very good A class wing should do.....
Knowing wind ( landscape - meteorology ) is most important part of flying ...
Wish you good luck....
@@istra70 Thanks that is great advice.
Is it much better than Alpha 5?
+BaSiC47 evolution works in small steps. slightly better allround.
I was flying the Alpha 5 from my first flight (March 2015) until early this year and found it a BIG step up! I always had the feeling, I was fighting against the Alpha5 and that radically changed on my first flight with the Alpha6.
It did exactly what I wanted it to do and helped me to do 78km on my first ever XC flight ;)
I learnt on a 5, but bought a 6. The 6 is lighter, has slightly better performance and glide, but it's still a very safe beginner wing. I'm happy with it for now. Once I've got some more hours under my belt I'll get a high A or low B.
