Nice Plasma Cutter! This brand is in the dark and frankly I don’t know why. I have the LOTOS LTPDC2000D (the RED one), purchased at Home Depot on late 2017, and it’s been a good solid machine. The Plasma Cutting was new to me and seeing is believing, this machine will do a fine cut on ¼ inch plate, rough cut on a 3/8 inch and will go up to ½ inch leaving a severance cut. Good video and thank you for sharing.
Greetings to you, my friend, I have one just like him that ignites arc, but when the pieces don't cut, the pieces are extinguished after the arc expires.
Tio Dave that is awesome! What CNC will you be using it on? I have heard some people had better luck with the CNC version and it not causing electrical interference.
Did you ever get this to work for a CNC table? I just got mine installed on my home made CNC, no electrical interference but it keeps losing it ground connection and the arc stops.
Looks nice. It would be nice to see the consumbable side of the torch and hear what you think about quality of it, how it connects to the plasma cutter etc. Just didn't learn much
Jeff lyon sorry to hear that, I did some videos on the consumables but unfortunately life got in the way of editing/posting. I will say I currently do not own this plasma cutter but I was extremely frustrated by the consumables since they shipped with s45 consumables even though it was labeled on the side as a PT-60 torch. This made for some definite frustration when I went and locally purchased PT-60 electrode and tip and what do you know, it didn’t work. Otherwise it wasn’t a bad unit, however I moved more into CNC and it gave me some high frequency troubles with my first cnc so I went with a different one for the second.
So I’m thinking of buying this. So tell me if the drag cut is the way to go or above cut? Also will this work on a generator? So why the difference in the voltage I’m confused. 110 or 220
Johnny Mensi this comes with a spacer that goes around the tip allowing you to have it spaced the proper distance from the work surface but still have contact with the surface. I have never tried this on 110v. The only thing that I just recently found out and was slightly shocked is that they sell this unit with consumables from an s45 torch even though it is an IPT-60 torch. It does all work, however it seemed to me I was using higher amperage than the recommended to get the cut I wanted. I hope this helps!
I honestly wish I had more time for videos. I did build a table, this Plasma worked with it but not great, the table had some flaws as well, so that made me purchase an actually cnc kit from Langmuir with another plasma and so far it’s been great! Love their stuff
Man I bought mine months ago just got around to hooking it up and had an air leak out the back too I see you don’t ground to the piece your cutting but next to it I have to do some car work figured I’d disconnect the barrier to make sure nothing looped to the ecm
Aaron Brown yeah I found that I had serious leaks if I send anymore than 70-75 psi from the compressor, anything over that it automatically dumps I think. Currently I am clamping to whatever the piece is sitting on with my cnc machine and it seems to be working well. Eventually I would like to have a magnetic ground because I have one on my welder and love it.
@@ajbrown2013 yeah I just purchased my third magnetic “ground” clamp, I use them for welders and plasma cutter now, just makes it so much easier and lower profile!
@@chrisbaima1512 NICE MAN I JUST TOOK MY LOTOS 5500D APART AND NOTICED THE AIR LEAK COMING FROM THE REGULATOR -WATER SEPERATOR IM TAKING MINE OFF THE MACHINE AND GOING TO USE MY OWN I MADE AN AIR COMPRESSOR QUIET BOX AND SEVERAL WATER SEPERATORS ALONG WITH A PRE AND AFTER COOLER FOR THE AIR LINES.
@@ajbrown2013 I am sure that will be a great help. I have seen plasmas, even with different manufacturers, having problems with the internal regulator. I did an after cooler on my air compressor and that helped to dry my air significantly.
Dennis Kramer it comes with a metal standoff that is like a spring clip on the outside of the nozzle. I was dragging that, but it was gapped off the metal by about 1.5mm like they say in the manual.
Danny B so far I have been loving mine, it has cut everything I have asked it to and I am getting close on making it into a plasma cnc. That is crazy about the last name!
Just went to their website (since now I’m in the market for a plasma cutter) and see they added all the CNC interface options for an extra $50 to this model : (
goofsaddg gkle that is awesome! I need to make another video but I recently got mine working with a home made cnc machine, it’s actually very simple, just takes crossing 2 pins and it fires.
goofsaddg gkle I will do my best to keep working on it! Unfortunately, I think there are a number of gaps in filming since it took me almost 8 months to complete!
goMyles yes, I was able to turn it into a plasma cnc, but then my design wasn’t perfect and so it wasn’t as good as I wanted so I ended up taking it apart and upgrading/purchasing a Langmuir CNC and I love the thing.
@@chrisbaima1512 That's awesome and I really appreciate the response. LOTOS launched a newer model LTP5500D that has CNC Ports built into it, I've ordered that with intention to use it as the plasma for the Langmuir CNC Plasma as well. Thank you for your comment. You might notice that I do not call it a review, it was literally the first time to open the package or use it. Also, it has been so many years since I had this cutter I do not believe that the version I had then was dual voltage. The version of this that is sold now has additional ports on it for a cnc and I believe arc voltage. It might have been but there was no equipment/cables to use anything over than 240v. Finally, as far as the cuts, this was the first time I had ever used a plasma cutter and I didn’t realize how fast you typically should move and I had a lot of slow movement dross in the back that made it look like it wasn’t cutting all the way though. Sorry for my inexperience and sorry you didn’t enjoy the video.
Raven Rehbein honesty I have not gotten a chance to really use it much, life has gotten in the way, but so far so good. I hope to use it a decent amount soon!

I'm glad yours worked. My pilot arc wouldn't work fresh out of the box.
Joseph Diclaire I am sorry to hear that, did you talk to the customer service? They were very quick to respond to my questions.
@@chrisbaima1512 yes! They gave me the option to replace or refund. I chose a refund, but it's a slick looking machine. Much lighter then I expected.
I got the LOTOS LTP5500D-CNC. I'm setting up my shop atm. I'll make some videos on it and hopefully have space to run it on my CNC by next year.
Tio Dave that is awesome! What CNC will you be using it on? I have heard some people had better luck with the CNC version and it not causing electrical interference.
The Mostly 3d Printed CNC or MPCNC. I've done some vinyl cutting and routing on it. I'm excited about cutting metal on it.
Tio Dave that is awesome! I am excited to see how that works! Pretty versatile cnc
You and me both. I got the shop compressor setup today. I'm working on plans to try to set it up temporarily until the final resting place is ready.

Nice vid Chris - was that a drag cut in the video or was there a gap maintained by the tip - thanks

You didn't cut through the metal on the first couple of attempts at 240v. You didn't attempt 120v. Not a good review.
