- Piran is the historic town of the Slovenian coast near the Croatian border. The dominant feature of the city is the Church and the Great Square. Above the city, the old Town Walls are preserved. Just a precisation before you enjoy your vacation. Istria used to be first Italic and then Venetian for 2000 years. After WWII the Slovenes and Croates became protagonist of the worst racial cleaning against Italians who were living there for 2000 years, forcing 350.000 people to the diaspora. You can search this
@@davidetoffoletto9981 what the hell are you talking about? ista was nevere part of italy but yes it was under roman empire (they shaped and bulid most of cities yes) which ended long ago. since then slavs came from eastern europe in 7th century and have lived there ever since. what the hell do you mean by racial? slovenes and croats never did anything to italians but italians attacked us in second war and claimed our lands, so dont even dare say shit cuz what italians did to us was horrible and thousands of slovenes still live behind your boredrs. learn some history before you talk cuz italy was the bad guy.

Fun fact: Piran was one of the shooting locations in 1985's cult film Gymkata. Only wish I knew exactly where in Piran they filmed.

The city looks identical to many other cities in Italy, especially to Venice and Its surroundings towns. Slovenian architecture is completly different in inland
