Best option yes, but if boiler still not working then you dont know if it is the condensate pipe unless you then strip of the insulation and use the water. Personally I prefer as is and use hot water which only ever had to do twice in 20 years. (central scotland)
Mine was fully frozen. My worcester boiler had the old 227, ignition/ ionisation fault. I thawed it bit with the kettle and had to bash the pipe to break the ice up and loads fell out. Boiler worked fine after that.
Just done the exact same thing to the same boiler with the same error this morning, the stick really helped break up the internal ice and eventually it worked.
The pipe look like need to be replaced also I would replace with push fit then glue as can be easily removed and cleaned out also new regs it has to be 32m pipe all the way through the it was before 22m then outside 32m pipe also can prevent from freezing if you put some lagging on it
This doesn't work at all, my copper pipe is inside a plastic one outside so no amount of hot water will reach it. This is the 3rd year it's frozen, I'm fuming
And why not put some pipe insulation around the pipe to try and prevent the freezing .?
@@radiotowers1159 That would usually be the best solution. This is just in the case of all the people that decide not to insulate it!

@@radiotowers1159 it's insulated twice, on an outside wall and frozen solid

If its outside manufacturer says it should be lagged even if its in 1"1/4 .

@@loby24 thanks for the comment! We do in fact install lagging on all of our own installs but this isn’t one of them.
Prevention is better than cure in all walks of life.sadly not everyone knows this or acts on it .
@@Tyroneguy77 exactly👏 this is just for those that haven’t for whatever reason got insulation on their condensate pipe!

Also it's lagged
Fumming? Just insulate it
@@mysterygirl-xt4ic it is insulated
Baxi said nothing they can do as it's on an outside wall, seeing as you are so knowledgeable would you like to come and fix mine before you judge?
A frozen 32mm pipe? Really
Mine 32mm pipe does this every bloody year. Does my head in.
