Pretty sure the father would be more worried about what he's done to his son rather than just helping him light the bday cake

But you gotta appreciate the work your kid puts in to giving you a birthday gift when you can

Worst father and scientist, ever!. not even mentioning he leaves dangerous chemicals without secure lids, in a house with a child and on top of the kitchen counter. This guy should not be put in jail for life for turning his kid into a living weapon. To top it off his first reaction to his kids situation is not " holy !@##$!! what have I done" its " awww cute! here son, light a candle with the hands that can never again touch another living being without cooking them alive". WORST FATHER EVER.
It is a metaphor
Logically, the future of this hot-handed young man will be dictated by things such as:
Do the effects start to wane in their effectiveness?
If the effects do dissipate, how soon does kid need another "fix"?
Does the father's "perceived love of his son" encourage him to use his son as Guinea pig for future experiments in the name of bonding (chemical or otherwise) with his son?
Actually when you watch the credits in the right hand corner you can see the dad dropping some blue liquid on his hands, cooling them down, but causing them to look blue. I think that it made them a little too cold but it doesn’t seem to be hurting him, just freezing drinks from the images
I love it.
What I love most is that you show how smart the boy is and how he finds new ways to overcome all obstacles.

5:41 5:47 the dad used that to get his son's hands fixed
6:00 but that turned his hands super cold😂
This short was about how the son accomplishes what he wants to after fighting the obstacles and finding alternative solutions..
the dad shows us that the hard work pays off at the right time even if it was a failure in the beginning
they've also given this short a realistic touch in the end by showing that things might not always turn out the way we want..
I love how the kind finds ways to make lemonade out of lemons, and when his father figures out what happened, he's supportive and actually has a little fun with it too. Lord knows most parents would have blown skyward seeing the mess in the kitchen.
