3:22 with live drumming is one of the most subtle flexes I will ever hear in my life. The guitarwork is amazing but this song really is special with the full group.
I've never tried hybrid picking before this song. Needless to say, I'm now pretty good at it, seeing as I spent a solid three hours doing it straight -_- so fun to play though!
Sure seems like it! I believe Mathieu (on the right) is hybrid picking in some places as well. It's hard to tell, but it wouldn't surprise me, cause they sure know their way around a guitar!
If you don't like Tech Death because of the vocals, try out Sleep Terror, they're instrumental technical death... but the growls started to grow on me and now I seem to love'em, and Gorod vocals are among the best.
@phili666 Yea fuck yeah. Honestly I'd get a little bored of Gorod without vocals. They're a technical death metal band and there's no reason tech death shouldn't have vocals.
hahah, what you're saying makes much sense with this piece of music. They do have a vocalist and he does a great job on their riffs though.. go and listen to the album version of this, the whole mix sounds much better than that, the instrumental is clearly audible and not pulled down by the vocals. But as a musician, I do get your point.
To me, the music is just not death metal, it's too...light. Don't get me wrong, I fucking love Gorod, but the only thing that makes them DEATH (emphasis here) Metal are the vocals. Anyway, their guitarwork is so awesomely excellent it isn't funny anymore :D
Disturbed is no Death metal... Defeated Sanity: Not really, the second guitar, yes, but there's always one guitar that plays a *cough* melody *cough*. Also, I wouldn't say that DS is Death Metal, it sounds more like a blend of Brutal Death Metzal and Grind to me. What DM do I listen to? Just to name a few: Atheist, Arghoslent, Behemoth, cannical Corpse, Necrophagist, Death, Spawn of Possession, Decapitated, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Psycroptic, Prositute Disfigurement, Nile, Quo Vadis...& more
I like your music very much, it's just beautiful! Although vocals sound tiring (even though I used to listen to black and death), could you come up with something more suiting your music or split albums with and without vocals ? :] Fot those who like growling and other, who don't. That could probably widen your auditory.
No, that's not even close. They are technical metal, but, come on...where's the death in the music? Without their vocalist they would definitely not be death metal. I didn't mean light as in not metal, so I don't understand why the fuck some idiot would rate me down. I didn't mean the 'higher register' when I said they're not death metal. Oh, and, BlackEarth, show me one Death metal band that plays powerchords in 8th notes over a longer time span. There is none...
I like the intro a lot, but the song loses interest from there. The beginning riff is quite jazzy but it just goes into technical shred midway in. The main riff should have been repeated again later.
I love how technical their songs get while keeping the brutality and melody foremost. I need to learn some of their stuff.
This album will always be my benchmark for Tech Death. Phenomenal

I think you two should do this for all of your songs , holy shit
encore bravo
Eh bien voilà, vous êtes maintenant définitivement mon groupe de technical death métal préféré. Merci!
Bow down to the revolution of technical death metal.
@phili666 I will say one thing though, I find Gorod highly accessible due to the thick melody in all the riffs.
Just amazing!
Quel talent!!!
Bravo Mat & GOROD...
One of the sickest tech death bands out there, love it.
Fast becoming my number 1 favourite metal band. Just goddamn amazing.
So tight, congratulations!
GOROD IS THE BALLS!
I love you guys, pls come to Mexico (Jalisco).
so progressive, best groove tech death metal ever
Mat is an amazing guitarist and has got such musical taste!
awesome playing, I really like the guitar tones. Programmers of Decline is a really good album too.
best five minutes of my day
You make it look so easy :(
Awesome video!
Amazing !!! bravo les gars :) 10 out of 10 for sure !!
The Ibanez on left is also great
me encanta!!!!!!!
The chicken picking for the verse riff is just completely ridiculous... Sounds like clean taps... Fuck
PLEASE HD! THIS SONG IS FUCKING AMAZING!
just saw these dudes in london. absolutely sick live and nice guys too. gojira might no longer be my favourite french band!!
Thats actualy an interesting idea. I like death growls, but when I listen to Gorod I prefer to listen to their instrumental stuff only.
the french touch !!!
cocorico... aaarrgghhh !!!
You inspire!
I want to see some tabs for this now!
Anyone please tell me they know where they can get them. =)

FUCKING AWESOME!!!
i'd say you guys are robotic because of your flawless technical playing, but theres so much feeling in these riffs as well!
@MaskedEmrys Yeah he is, I'm trying to learn the song and HOLY crap it's so hard.
mat is my hero :D
First time watching this video.
The Riff At 0:30 Is A FACE MELTER!!!
Thats some sweet ckickin pickin right there!!
when the new ep going to be released!
fuck yeah!
@kfkslayerkfk :
Yep, this is a Fender Esquire Custom GT... he's got also a blue one...
@MaskedEmrys Yea man he and Joe Haley from Psycroptic frequently hybrid pick. They rule.
@arnogorod is the main riff hybrid picked?
@ChuckisGOD1 Yup they are (awesome) =)
what kind of guitar is the guy on the right using? looks sick
I thought their previous albums had a lot more diversity in the vocals, this album totally slays though
@arthasbr yea man!..too good!
They have one of the better death metal vocalists. Without him it wouldn't be death metal!
And 2:56 gave me a commotion
Is that an Ibanez RG3120F??
@mohammedwong Yep.
Keep on rockin' \m/
Mathieu 1:42-1:55 is the greatest shit ever
I agree, RonJarZ is a god
cool guys, lets do it the same way!
Fuckkk...anyone have tabs for this?
@KutViZ Yah
Gorod.....making telecasters metal.
@phili666 Yea fuck yeah. Honestly I'd get a little bored of Gorod without vocals. They're a technical death metal band and there's no reason tech death shouldn't have vocals.

if this was to ever be on guitar hero these 2 would hella kill lol
i tried to play this today.
im not amused.
@kfkslayerkfk Clearly they're using custom tridents straight from the pits of hell... duh.
looooooooool
Obscura,who again?
it raped me, fucking epic riff
the dude on the right looks just like my bands guitarist just a bit older, even the guitar skilz are equal
gorefinder Doubt it!
\mm/
reaspero
Now don't tell me I don't know anything about Death Metal. (And yes, I know both Disgorge and Defeated Sanity)
look a the middle of the screen an try to focus to the wall behind the monitor and you wil see the guitars in 3D :-)hahahahaha

I'm not criticizing the vocalist or anything, but I personally like this instrumental version far better than the original song with vocals.
Tarek Tantawy congrats

cjgone2 Shut the fuck up
awesome!!!
I watched all of your gorod and cynic covers and they're great, didn't think I'd see you here lol
encore bravo
