Many of my residents became family-ish and I miss them. This video is right up my alley with Pharrell's song "I'm Happy". His song has taken on A life of its own. This video is wholesome and wonderful to watch and I'm going to share it with others. Please don't let this video be just A one AnD done. This happiness is SO contagious 🎉

This is such a great song to get you going. I have this as my ringtone on my phone. Every time I get a call I just let it keep ringing and ringing. It’s so great to see the staff entertaining the seniors. I am 85 years old and thank God I’m still in a home of my own. God has been very good to me. May God bless all the seniors in this center.

Joy still resides in a soul, no matter how old we are! I'm 71 and still dance. I dance alone, with my dogs or my daughter , just for the sheer JOY of life. And music brings me joy.
I sent this to my daughter, who is The Activities Director of a Senior Facility , where most of her residents are btw 80- 100 +, most with Alzheimers or Dementia.She always has them doing fun and active things.This made me smile so much.❤❤

This made me cry happy tears. My late mom had Alzheimer and she loved music and often I would play her favorite songs so when I saw this it brought back all of those memories. Love this wish they did this in all longterm care facilities. Love from Canada ❤
My Granny would wheelchair down to Sunday brunch, wave her hands and tap her toes. She didn’t know who she was.. or recognize her family, but loved her Sunday music.

Hello...this brings me to tears cause when I was young I was a dancer. I took tap and dbl.tap, and ballet lessons from 4- 18 years old and I loved every stage of the popular dances. I even had my picture in the ROTO section of our Akron Beacon Journal in 1962. But now at 78 and health issues I can only watch and move my upper body. I am 77 this month and not in a care facility yet. I don’t move very well but this is the kind of thing that makes everyone feel happy. I am in the process of moving about a mile from my daughter from about 20 miles away. A neighbor was worried about me a week ago. I didn’t hear him knock, he called another neighbor who called my son, he called my daughter who txt me that she was leaving her house. My son drove 1000 miles and somewhere in this flurry of phone calls someone called the sheriff. All of this was going on and I didn’t know about it until the sheriff showed up at my house😂😂😂. I laughed but not because my kids were worried. Poor guys.
Pharrell would love to see this. His music has brought happiness to many, changed lives. I love to see its our beautiful black sisters who get the party going.
I literally cried, watching this it reminds me of the time when my mom was in the nursing home. How wonderful to see everyone being so joyous dancing ❤

Nursing homes in my state and assisted living have all kinds of events and opportunities for fun. It's much different than what we saw in the 70's and 80's.

@@janetsmith2870 Well. Ma'am I'm 76, God willing. I will be 77 this August. Guess what I think I am Adorable and Cute, God blesses me every day. I am still in my own home. No care givers in sight, considering that both our parents were already in senior centers at my age. My youngest brother still drives a big rig all across this country, not only is he also adorable and cute. But a chick magnet even if I do say so myself. Don't try to heap us seniors in some box created by your own imagination. We deserve better than that.
Love the enthusiasm of the employees and the residents looked like they enjoyed this as well. I remember at my facility, we had a dance, and the wife of a resident didn't want to dance, so he partnered with me, and he danced and danced and danced, and no one would cut in to relieve me LOL. Too bad "Happy" wasn't out then!
This was fantastic. It was wonderful to see such a happy vibe going on in the room. I was bopping along to the song and smiling from ear to ear. It was great to see the elderly enjoy the show and join in, just having a great time. Well done to the staff for their fantastic dancing skills.
I used to work as the Activities Organiser in a Home for seniors with dementia. I used to do things like this but with music and songs from the 1940s as that’s all they could remember. They loved it!
