All these emulation boxes got this problem. They always run in 16:9 which they aren't supposed too. I get it they want these consoles to fill the screen for HD TV but they're killing the performance in the process. All those game are supposed to be 4:3 aspect ratio. A fire stick with RetroArch on it is 1000 times better then that. Dreamcast with a full 60fps depending on which fire stick you have.
