I think Mirror's Edge has changed my life, it's a source of inspiration that never ends, not only the sound tracks but everything in the game, whenever I listen I feel that one day I will get to where I want to be, adult, alone or with someone, in a nice place and happy to have done the things I wanted, this is just a little of what this game means to me, the feeling that this game goes through is inexplicable
This track brings back the childhood memories when I didnt see the verge between fiction and reality, I saw films with laser guns and robots and thought that they existed somewhere else. The capital city where I grew up seemed big and highly technological to me, its neon lights, enormous malls, tall high rises. Perfect, flawless future.
I closed my eyes while listening to this and all I could picture in my mind is exactly how the game's city looked like. Big city, tall white buildings, blue sky with no clouds, but with futuristic cars speeding on the roads.
I listened to this while I was falling asleep, and I had a good dream and woke up feeling alive. Thank you Syslocal, hope you can possibly get picked for mirrors edge 3 😁😁

It doesn't catalyst is much better in every way.. U only say this because it's nostalgic catalyst has the same music if not better with an open world and much better graphics

You are on your way off planet to visit family in a near by galaxy; only a few hundred light years away. You are riding the magnetic rail elevator to the low Earth orbiting space port to begin the trip. You check in, find your sleeping chamber and enjoy the view of Earth as you launch into deep space. these yellow tubes really exist in the catalyst, I don’t remember seeing them in the first one, since this video is from before the catalyst, maybe someone was inspired on it
It's hard to go into detail because honestly I felt that pretty much everything was done wrong in one way or another. It just goes against all the design precedents set by the first one. And yeah, the music definitely wasn't as good.
I totally agree. One problem I had was that some of the environments weren't as believable, the layouts looked more like levels from a game then actual buildings where people live and work
@@SysLocal Yea, I especially hated all the drone and flying vehicle around the cities that makes it look like it tries to hard to be video-gameish. Mirror's Edge 1 was so good because it focused on comtemporary architecture, believable worlds and inserting as much soul into a small sections and areas as possible. ME Catalyst forgot what makes ME1 so unforgettable by trying to do too many things at once. All we wanted was to go back how how ME1 felt. The city we loved.
It’s hard to describe the emotions I feel when listening to this. Mirrors edge was such a cool experience for me (I first played it in 2014 when I was 10). Coming back to it after many years just takes my back to happier and simpler times in life as a child. But it also makes me feel proud of what I’ve become and also makes me hopeful for the future like anything is possible. It almost makes me want to cry but at the same time it makes me feel so happy and inspired that I can’t cry.
Would anyone like for me to re-upload this track again? That way the image would actually fit the video window & be up-to-date with UA-cam's new streaming standards (192kbps vs the old 128kbps). I'd still keep this video up for those of you who have this bookmarked/favorited and such. Basically the picture not fitting bugs me :P

I absolutely agree. I haven't played Deus Ex or really listened to any of Zimmer's stuff, but Solar Fields really out did himself with the soundtrack. I don't think there was anywhere in the game where the music didn't blend perfectly with what was happening around you at the time. And don't worry, your grammar is fine :)

The resort is overrun by long ancient aliens awakened by the human's presence, and they threaten the human race with extinction, The aliens kill a large amount of the holidaymakers, a soldier on holiday takes the fight to the aliens and the fate of the entire universe rests on him
