I had this done in 1999. C 4 c5 disk and spur. Piece of cake.Had bad weekness after initial tingling. Took a few months to get to the weakness. Now at age 68 bad pins and needles when lifting my neck. Disk buldge and spurs. So far one surgeon said fusion is only option but try a epidural first since I have no weekness. Pretty devastating. No pain. But worried that weakness will come.
Thank you for this very clear, precise explanation. I am going to have this surgery soon and I appreciate learning about what it involves. Your explanation has been extremely helpful. I read many of your UA-cam presentations. You are an excellent teacher. Thank you for sharing your medical knowledge so readily with readers.
Helpful information, I had this operation done to remove a schwannoma that branched into my T4-T6 vertebrate. Never knew what was actually done though so this was interesting to watch
Thank you for your info, I'll have a bilateral l4 l5 laminectomy and l5 s1 laminectomy with diskectomy in Dallas in December. Do you have videos for this? Thank you.
I have a question I have a mass a size peanut on L1 L2 vetebral spinol my neorsergery told me he have to put a piece of bone in order to take it out n he told me I don't need to put a bone back is his right.
I will be having Laminectomy in two days for pinched nerve. My disc herniation is very minimal and doctor told me as if there is no herniation but the nerve stays in an inflamed state all the time. I'm afraid after the surgery the vertebrae becomes weak and I will have to abandon my sports and all the things I'm used to. I'm also scared that a couple of years later will need fusion because all the people did told me they had fusion after a while. Is that true doc?
Hi ,will you let us know how did it go ? I refuse laminectomy because of everything you mentioned and going to see the surgeon, especialized in minimum invasive incisions.

@@DonnallySpineConsult yes I saw that after I had a visit with an orthopedic surgeon there. I think it's a different clinic.

What about doing a laminectomy for tarlov cyst? How does that work.?
Not sure it does
Can you return the removed bone.
Can if you fuse
