-Claimed his first wife and daughter who died in a car accident were killed by a drunk driver; in reality, his wife inexplicably swerved on the opposite lane and struck an oncoming truck head: the truck driver was sober and was not responsible in any way for the accident, it was his wife the one who caused the accident
-Claimed to have worked as a coal miner which never happened
-Claimed to have worked as an 18-wheeler truck driver which never happened
-Claimed he held 3 college degrees, that attended college on a full scholarship and was admitted to West Point; none of that is true (he did enroll in ROTC but got an F)
-White House intern Vail Kohnert-Yount (worked for him while he was Vice President) accused him of attempted rape, stating he touched her and kissed her without her permission while complimenting her on her beauty
-Current wife "Doctor" Jill was originally his daughter's babysitter and they were having an affair while both were still married to their first spouses; in fact, they were in bed together when he was informed his first wife and daughter died
-Claimed to have travelled 17,000 miles with Xi Jinping (the Earth's diameter is around 7900 miles): his staff was reportedly puzzled about where he came up with this number from or why
-Since at least the 2020 presidential Democratic primaries, he has been forced fed dementia meds before each public appearance by his wife to render him coherent; an eyewitness (former aide) said that before taking the pills he was "like a small child" and "unable to speak"
-Claimed that he once traveled to Iraq to personally pin a medal on a war hero and that he was warned it could be dangerous but that he bravely brushed off the concerns by saying "we can lose a Vice President, we can't lose any more of these kids" and that as he entered Iraq he was shot at 3 times: he had never been to Iraq and had to retract his story and apologize
-When he did go to Iraq he said "he was shot at" which turned out to have been a single mortar exploding miles away from his hotel; his advisers begged him to stop telling the story because it could easily be debunked but flat-out refused until caught
-Claimed he went to Afghanistan where al-Qaeda and the Taliban teamed up to shoot down his helicopter forcing it to land with "three-star general and 3 United States senators" onboard, it turned out the helicopter wasn't attacked and landed due to a coming snowstorm 10 hours away; the other claims were also false
-Plagiarized speeches by Robert Kennedy, Jack Layton and Neil Kinnock (after he was caught stealing Kinnock's speech he withdrew from the 1988 presidential primaries in disgrace and was notable because the speech narrated Kinnock's childhood and family, meaning he stole another man's entire life story word-by-word; furthermore, during 'his' speech he explicitly claimed he created the speech on the spot)
-He plagiarized his thesis
-He claimed he finished in the top tier of his class at law school when in fact he finished in place 79th out of 85 (he earned only Cs and Ds during the first 3 semesters)

-Stole a "climate change plan" from several NGOs and presented it as his own
-Claimed that when he was 21 he convinced Senator Strom Thurmond to support the 1964 Civil Rights Act before he died (Thurmond never supported the act and they only met 8 years later)
-Claimed to have been an important figure in the 1960 American civil rights movement; among other things, he claimed to have participated in sit-ins, to have marched along Black activists and to have been arrested for his activitism; none of this was true and during his Congress career he was noted for openly sympathizing and negotiating with racist lawmakers to the point that he supported segregation and Jim Crow, publicly worrying desegregation could end and his grandchildren would grow in "a racial jungle"
-The day after becoming Vice President his deadbeat brother Jim showed up to work wearing cufflinks with the Presidential seal and arrogantly insulting his coworkers while openly boasting about being the Vice President's brother
-Was also accused of rape and sexual harassment by his Congressional aide Tara Reade; when she went public with the accusation she sought assistance from Time's Up (NGO formed in response to the #MeToo movement to provide free legal aid to female victims of sexual abuse) which refused to help her arguing that Briben was a presidential candidate at the time and they'd be effectively interfering with elections but none of this stopped them regarding Trump when he ran for President in 2016. She left her diary behind when she moved away. The diary held some extremely unsavoury entries, including that her father, the president, would take showers with her. She stated, in the diary, that she thought it highly inappropriate. I more than agree with her. It sounds awful.
If that diary was so important to her, why'd she leave it behind? Why didn't she realise that it she'd forgot and take immediate steps to secure it to a safe place and retrieve it as soon as possible. Why would you leave something like this lying around for something to see. It's like leaving your car unlocked with the keys in the ignition in the worst part of town. It's still wrong to steal it but you have to admit it's your own fault. That's how it is with Ashley Biden.

I don't know about California's laws but anything left for over 30 days in a place without you claiming is considered abandoned in Michigan.

There's a big distinction to be made here between leaving something at a friend's house and leaving something at a place that you were staying like a airbnb.Or a hotel where the person doesn't have a relationship with you and doesn't have your personal contact information.
