- Well, hello guys
Welcome again in my Illustrator tutorial,
In this video, I will show you how to create a Geometric Gradation Background in Adobe Illustrator. Actually, I also do not know the right name for this design, but this design is quite interesting to try.
in this video, you will learn
1. How to use Transform effect in Illustrator to transform an object into an attractive form.
2. How to use Blend Tool to create color pallet in illustrator.
3. How to effectively use the Eyedropper Tool to sample colors.
4. and finally, how to do Clipping Mask on illustrator.
To get a color pallet you can visit
color.adobe.com or coolor.co or you can find it on google with keyword "shade color pallet"
Please leave a comment if you want to ask or give advice.
so keep it simple and see you in the next tutorial.

Very neat tutorial. Thank you very much! I love to play around with the functions of the transform tool. One question: It seems that your edges are soft, while mine remain sharp? Did i miss one step?
If you want soft edges use direct selection tool and select every corner of holexagon then drag the corner widget.
if im not mistaken, hes just describing how to round the corners, not how to soften the edges.
i duplicated the effect with gaussian blur. adjust the intensity it to your liking, depending on how big your artwork is ;)
I think it's due to being recorded. I think in person, the edges would be sharp as well
Am I First? Awesome tutorial..
😊😁🤩
yes, thanks.
Man your tutorials are great. I really like the ones that are short and very quick but show something very cool. Is there another way to achieve this effect with having to manually apply the color to each one? By the way, when you're doing those repetitive tasks, try speeding it up a lot more to condense it
Thanks,I have not found how to apply color automatically.
You can use recolor artwork, if you want to change the color automatically, but you have to do manual coloring first.
You could try blend color tool in edit color menu. Give you the exact same effect without having to assign the colours to every polygon.
To avoid too many steps. before transform, create the litle one hexagon, and transform for 108%
You could've scaled it first while in transform menu, instead of scaling down so that you don't need to bring every single shape to the front. By the way, nice tutorial. Thank you.
or just reverse order of all elements in the layer panel! graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/53392/quickly-reverse-layer-order-of-objects-in-illustrator Awesome tutorial!
@@angelaleon2241 Ty for this !
Faster way would be to create 2 shapes, one bigger and a smaller as shown at the beginning, then separate them and choose the color you want, then apply the blend option and desired steps. Then ungroup and align, they would be all facing the same way from large to small. Now clic on each shape and double click on rotation tool using the desired fixed number or manually rotate holding shift each shape. The result should be the same and much faster.
no es igual no forma el torbellino
posso utilizar a sua ideia para fazer um trabalho escolar ?
After the blend on the colour palette, when you go to object and expand, I only have the expand appearance option available. Am I doing something wrong?
i also press bell icon please soon upload new work :)
Thank you.
You are very lucky
Is there a way you can make the same tutorial but narrate it with your voice?
Great work. But I have some beginners question: The "Effect" item on menubar is some PlugInn? I don't have this automation possibilities. Thank in advance anybody for the answer .
The Effect tab by default is in Adobe Illustrator, not a plug-in. Which version of Adobe Illustrator do you use?
@@nobudesign I have CC2019 version.
I have not used 2019 cc, but I think the tab effect also exists by default in cc 2019. ua-cam.com/video/cvVS4yGYNYE/v-deo.html
@@nobudesign Thank you for the link, but it takes me to the Samsung commercial and nothing more?
Hi Nobu, I made really beginners mistake. I just run InDesign instead Illustrator... Sorry for your time. But thank you again for willingness.
Shoutouts to Lakey for his music
I thought I was good at this software until I read your video
The transform breaks when applying the copies
First you have to switch fill swatch to none
Why when i make a copy of it , it dissapears and it's just the normal shape and in the middle nothing?
you have fill set to a color, it should be set to none and stroke to black
Its does not show your tools at you double click and double click for some reason that it is so confuse in the way you use your mouse and tools of pick and like the Geometric Gradation Background
Excuse me! I tried it but at the third step, eyedropper is not filling the colors. It is just giving it stroke.
Is there a faster way to assign the colours, looks very tedious
as far as I'm trying, I have not figured out how to speed up the coloring process. but after coloring, you can change colors quickly using Recolor Artwork in Illustrator.
Nobu Design ok thx
when i use the align tool on the box, it just won't budge. what's wrong?
Try aligining to artboard. Its an option on the align toolbar
To avoid too many steps. before transform, create the litle one hexagon, and transform for 108%
i couln't fill the color the color is only filling in Strokes can u tell me how can i do it
did you find the solution yet? having the same problem
@@kiranmahato5034 In the left toolbar it goes fill colour, stroke colour and gradient (only usable in fills or strokes that aren't solid colours), change are you have you colour in the wrong place... Switch them out next time you open it
why not use blend ?
I've tried using blend, but the results aren't good.
1:27 количество копий задается на увеличение объекта. не работает так как автор показал
всё работает.
How to save from illustrator
save for screens (ctrl + alt + e)
its not working properly in illustrator cs6
Very annoying the moment I add more copies the inner lines just disappear
I'm stuck at the copies step, it just doesn't work, i don't know what's wrong
I had the same problem, chances are you didn't remove the fill colour so your biggest hexagon's fill is covering up your other smaller hexagons. Try to remove it and see what happens!
why is it moving though
your videos pain me to watch as there are so many better ways to do the things you show people to do.
I feel the same way but the videos are done so that even beginners can follow along so shortcuts aren't taken
