She didn't say anything anti trans! She didn't want to put her pronouns in her bio. These people are insane
All she did is make a very accurate observation, one that I stand by to this day. I think people are mad at her because deep down they know its true, they just don't want to admit it.
Not wanting to put pronouns in your bio is anti-trans!!! LOL!!!!
@@gasperdn exactly!
Always remember, liberals are demons
I’m trans and I’d *never* put pronouns in my bio smh -.-
Anyone who needs a “safe space” are people we should all strive to avoid 💀
Eh, depends on the context. If it's someone with severe trauma, then of course they need safe spaces. If it's someone demanding that every place they go cater perfectly to their ideology, then absolutely not.
Depends
@FormerlyDuck People with trauma need support, the term "safe space" is completely unnecessary as it pertains ONLY to abnormal ideologies.
I hear the inside of volcanos are safe spaces...
Any chance we can make volcanos great again?
So, a safe space?
I attend a public high school and half the people are wearing cosplay costumes to school. The administration can’t do anything about it because it will make them feel unsafe in our school. 😂
Same here I’m a senior in hs right now these kids are nuts lmao
Yeah this is why I am so happy I graduated when I did in 2009. There’s no way I wouldn’t get in trouble for making fun of these people.
i highly doubt HALF the student body wears costumes to ur school - stop overreacting, it doesnt affect you
can’t wait for Jesus to come back
2009 grad here. Are you guys fking shtting me??
imagine not feeling safe because one of the optional panels you dont have to attend will have someone with a "strong opinion"
The educational systems in the US and Canada have betrayed the last two generations of young people. They are so weak minded its frightening. You however give me hope, please keep it up our culture, what's left of it, needs voices like yours. Don't know what you were up to before the show but you're positively glowing. Congratulations on the engagement you are the picture of a happy young woman!
It says "Mr" in your name so I am going to assume you are a male.. but you also tried to pick up on whether or not she is pregnant? For a woman, that's weird as hell and none of your business (Not everyone wants to do a show and get questioned about whether or not they are glowing 🤦🤦🤦). For a man, there is no greater shame? Beating up your wife would be less insulting than what you just said. You are aware that to produce quality videos you need lighting correct? Don't say glowing as a man ever again, you are apart of the problem with those kids, somewhere somehow you made them weaker and softer.. maybe if you were an actual adult male instead of the saddest man I have ever seen those kids would be strong willed enough to superceed the school system (whatever kids you have in mind).
"Congratulations on the engagement you are the picture of a happy young woman!", she will never read that and why make it even sadder. Did you flick your wrist when you said that??? We have a testosterone pandemic going on, you are the poster boy for it lol. You are the picture of a happy young woman HAHAHA. Man, save the rest of us from this embarrassment
"If you don't share my ideology then you don't belong in my fandom."
Only a Sith deals in absolutes.
Fandom is supposed to be a safe space, but if you want to exclude people who think differently from your space, then you have become the very thing you swore to destroy.
Well said, Master Kenobi!
Are you single?
the WORLD is not a safe space. how do you even leave your home???? shop for food??? you must live in a bubble. if your scared , DONT GO!! try to ruin everything for normal people.
That would be epic to be told to these ppl when they said all that
Nice one ☝️
I’m a Christian and in the cosplay community. It is madness sometimes.
The irony of this is that you have to pay EXTRA to meet the stars at cons. If you don’t want to meet them, you don’t have to. You have to WANT to meet them, you’re not just going to run into them.
These people act like breathing the same air as someone who doesn’t agree with someone is going to kill them. They’re so incredibly insecure with themselves they can’t even be in the same room as someone who won’t go out of their way to affirm all their nonsense.
I can only imagine how fast a bunch of the cosplayers I know would turn on me if they knew half of what I believe. Despite having no problem with being their friends and following them on SM knowing full well what they believe and disagreeing with it. You don’t see me dragging them in the dirt and calling them nasty names and hate commenting.
That’s supposed to be the beautiful thing about fandoms. They bring together people from all over the world and all walks of life who might otherwise have nothing in common. It’s great because it’s inclusive in that the only thing you need to get in is a mutual interest in the same book, movie, tv show, game, etc. but the liberals make about more than just that. And they’re destroying fandoms from the inside, tearing apart the fabric of once beautiful communities with their hatefulness and intolerance.
I used to think that all these people should fit into the same boxes. Maybe they think that too, but from their own (obviously) warped perspective. In my previous understanding, all nerds and geeks were basically the same. Good at maths, good at computers, not good at sport, and have an interest in sci-fi/fantasy stuff....as well as smart, careful, introverted, ambitious and funny.
Let's be honest: you just formed a well-articulated and, frankly, factual argument... which now makes me feel unsafe, due to my constant need be the center of attention. I'm literally shaking or whatever.
Seriously, the fake fandom outrage is both exhausting and insulting. People are literally dying by the thousands in war and genocide ALL OVER THE WORLD... and Trudeau has wrecked Canada faster than a Mondalorian on a mission.
You took the thoughts right out of my head.
love hearing of Christians in fandoms 🩷
Bravo!! You took the words right out of my mouth (fingers?) Been going to cons since the 80's and if there happened to be someone at one I either didn't like, or just didn't care about was stunningly easy not to see them and their presence had absolutely no effect on my enjoyment of the proceedings. I simply didn't go to their panel or join their autograph line. NEVER did it occur to me to have them forcibly removed simply because I didn't want them there...but then again I'm not a raging narcissist.
And I hear ya on the Cosplay front. There is a cosplay/performing group I've been a part of for over 15 years and no one used to care what anyone's beliefs were outside of celebrating our shared fandoms, even when some of the folks who knew I didn't subscribe to groupthink didn't care because that wasn't why we were there. Now? persona non grata and have been quietly removed. The funny part is, the guy who is kind of the leader (at least he was who we all knew first and most events happen at his home) still calls me all the time as he is being driven nuts by all the PC crap and alphabet people demands that all the new folks brought in, but I'm the only one he can talk to about it as he'd be destroyed so just keeps his mouth shut and tries to hide his disgust at things like the recent episodes of Dr. Who (for example).
It will never cease to amaze me those calling the loudest for acceptance and diversity are the most violent when you show any sign of not following them to the smallest degree. I used to go to multiple conventions every year, now I've been to two this decade (granted, COVID didn't help, but wasn't the only reason). It makes me sad, especially as I want to share this with my son who's at a great age for it, but in many ways just isn't worth it anymore because it is no longer about a bunch of people getting together to celebrate their shared love of geeky stuff, but about seeing who has the most letters and pronouns in their bio.
Imagine being so offended by the presence of one person that you have to make a petition and an essay to describe why you’re offended.
One of the many definitions of pathetic 😂
It makes it easy to know the kind of people to avoid
I actually agree, her presence creates an "unsafe environment". So if anybody finds her presence dangerous, they should not attend the event or just leave. More space for the rest of us.
as a counter-strike player I feel Globaly Offended
sounds like a detention for a 6 y/o.
If her presence can drive those people away, then please always invite Gina! 😁 😂
The Trump as Darth Vader cutaway joke was a stroke of genius. I always wonder if Brett makes suggestions on these jokes or the editors do that.
If you're a person who needs a "safe space" there are these buildings with bars on the windows, nice 8'x8' rooms lined with padded walls and beds equipped with straps to ease your tossing and turning. But they have beautiful entryways AND personal assistants for you.
and great drugs, that will relieve you of all worries.
Not anymore, they shut all those down, now we just have the streets of San Francisco.
Yeah, those are really not safe spaces.
Cosplay used to be for people with guts; go out in crazy clothes, live through the ridicules and feel great, because you did it anyways. Now people seem to need a social worker just to choose a costume. 🙈
É meio que um "poser" ou algo falso do tipo em algum nível kkkk você definiu bem 😅
Si você precisa de um assistente social pra dá um apoio moral pra conseguir coragem pra sair por aí si sentindo especial caramba isso é só zoado mesmo
As a cosplay maker myself, I totally agree.
I do school online and im living my best life, almost every classroom at my in person high school has a little rainbow ‘safe space’ sticker and it’s what drove me away. I’m sick of LGBT kids being promoted, gender identity is something that needs to be decided as an adult 😭
Schools should either have a safe space for all or just independently help students with their individual issues. This safe space for gay people, especially children, serves only to have them believe that they have more rights and privileges compared to straight students. It is wrong and should not be allowed.
Thinking of home schooling my kids too ... for the very same reasons... some things should be tackled when ur a grown up... not when ur 10.
@@trashwebsite_user01I wish I was homeschooled when I was still in School. I literally learned nothing of value going through the US Education System.
I still remember the time when "safe spaces" in schools were for disabled people autistic people and people with extreme anxiety now I CANT go to those "safe spaces" (that given im disabled DO require) because "The queer kids need them more"
As a Canadian I don't claim those other Canadians.
I’m an avid cosplayer. I love going to cons. And honestly the amount of security they have is insane. Even if there was an ‘unsafe’ guest they wouldn’t be able to do anything.
Basically, finding another human being, that’s different than you, makes you feel unsafe, that is a sign of a very under developed emotional palette.
I'm going to make it abundantly clear.. that as a Canadian (even though our country is being run by clowns right now) that these people ABSOLUTELY do not speak for me (and also the majority of other Canadians as well, I assume)!!! These people are insane lol
Yesssss!! This!! As another Canadian with common sense and actually uses my critical thinking skills!!!
it's most Canadians, theres a minority of people ruining our image. Just as many woke people in Vancouver as many places in the USA.
Are you sure? You must have had a majority vote for Mr Blackface. I have a Canadian friend who actually believes the freedom convoy was racist.
@@rodiusmaximusnope. The conservatives won the popular vote. The liberals won because of our shitty first past the post system
Crazy? I was crazy once, they locked me in a room, a room filled with nerds in costumes - I had a nice time and made friends and was treated with respect
Some of my favorite people in the world are cosplayers. I have no idea where they stand politically, but when I said I modify a lot of cosplays because I’m not comfortable with how revealing they are, they respected me for it. Even cosplay contest judges gave me props for sticking to my guns about wearing revealing outfits and modifying the outfits accordingly. (Judges also completely look over my glasses despite the fact that they don’t ever work with my costumes lmao)
How can someone who belongs someplace be "unsafe"?!!! What are they expecting her to do?!!
Just a bunch of cry-bullies trying to control other ppl’s behavior, as usual.
Imagine being so powerful that simply walking into a room oppresses people.
I wish I was that powerful. Could pivot that into something better and make some good changes.
Corollary: Imagine walking into a room and having immense power simply by claiming to be oppressed.
That's always the first on my list if I could have super powers
So basically Darth Sidious.
Man I wish!
Hey! I'm that Cara Dune cosplayer you showcased with Gina!
Thank you for doing all you do, Ms. Cooper! Glad there is an informed voice of reason out there defending Ms. Carano.
There are plenty. They just get drowned out by the idiots in the media.
🫶
we need to bring serious mockery and ridicule back
As a Canadian I think all these kids complaining need to either learn to get their priorities straight or their sexuality bc you can’t be confused about both and expect us all to care
I believe that they are scared that she will make sense and turn more people to our side. They are scared because they know they are wrong, and they dont want people to realize that.
The woman is an absolute doll, wasn't able to meet her at the con you showed but I was standing in line (didn't have the right amount of money) but standing there watching her with her fans was an absolute joy she is everything you say she loves her fans and is just a giant nerd. Hope to be able to have the opportunity to meet her at hopefully FanX this next year or in the future.
As a Canadian, I do not take responsibility for Vancouver! Like wow!
Are you single? You're brave.
Oh god, you are asking again. Creep x 2 @@LiamColeman-Halla-yq2jl
@@laurenelizabeth2505 are you single?
Good thing Fan Expo tweeted something, basically saying that they’re not gonna oblige to a minority group, and also Gina tweeted that she’s gonna be an extra day 😂
Donald Trump's voice over Darth Vader had me rolling in laughter 💀
She’s coming to MegaCon in Orlando for the second time in 3 years. She had some of the longest lines of any of the celebs that came. She was insanely popular.
Apparently they added days for her because the ticket sales to meet her went up. 🙌🏽
That's awesome! 😁
If she came to one of the conventions, I attend, I would go and thank her for standing up and holding her beliefs!
Canadian Vancouverite here. No one is talking about this. Hadn’t even heard of it. We are just trying to not slide off a mountain in the freezing rain. Who still watches Global?!!!
Precisely. The vast majority of Vancouverites isn't aware of this, and even if they were, they wouldn't side with the regressive minority.
Hopefully Sean Strickland becomes president for Canada in 2025 lol
Gina Carano is one of the extremely few women that would make me feel MORE safe in whatever environment I am in.
Dude her leg kicks will make most fighters jealous.
lol I live 20 minutes from Vancouver and I’d never spend the money to go to fan expo but now hearing Gina will be there TAKE MY MONEY
I’ve been cosplaying for many years at conventions. I’ve also been part of the press team at some of these same conventions. while I hate fan expo for just being a poorly run franchise con, when I meet celebrities for press promos or even as a cosplay attendee, I can separate artist from their opinions. Because that’s just what they are, opinions. If opinions are harmful to your safe space, then it maybe time to reevaluate how you interact with the world around you.
When she was announced to be attended Fan Expo Denver some years back, there were multiple commends in the Facebook post were all up in arms about her attending. From people shocked, to some saying they'd cancel their tickets if she wasn't removed. A lot of the same stuff seen here.
She refunded her ticket because she didn't feel safe? What, did she think Gina was going to jump offstage and start beating people up? #smh
“Safe spaces” used to be called mental institutions 🙈
I think we really need more cameos with Brett's dogs in these videos! Brett always looks so happy with her dogs, it's so sweet!
As a Canadian it's probably the one time in my life I wished I lived in Vancouver so I could go and support her.
Participation trophies for everyone!!!
I'm Canadian and I HATE the political climate where I live right now. I also don't like being put in the same boat as these "woke" crazies.
Poilievre!
I'm American, but if I was Canadian I would vote for him!
You ever gonba get rid of Fidel Castros son? (And no thats not a rumor, its an unassailable fact, Justin Trudeaus mom had an ongoing affair with Fidel Castro that lasted the better part of 2 years. The trudeaus ARE swingers, with a very open relationship)
Having Rocky in the Ruff Greens ad read was SO CUTE!!!!
Incites a hypothetical threat to deplatform someone is a stupid and dumb tactic.
I have stopped attending comic cons because I feel extremely unwelcome and uncomfortable letting people know “the real me.” Half of what they seem to want to talk about is how their political views are mirrored in their cosplay or character, expect me to applaud every cosplayer and actor, and expect that if I am a fan of a person’s work I must also get into lock-alignment with their political and ethical ideas.
I’ve always felt I’m too weird for the normal people and too normal for the weird people, but at least the normal people are nicer about it.
Yeah your safe space is called home.
I love the new out of studio “studio”❤
Same thing is happening when she was announced in Megacon this motivates me more to pay for her and meet her
i like this set of "brett cooper in witness protection" episodes
I appreciate it when a select few go through this garbage for the rest of us, and parse it out. I despise giving these outlets any more clicks than is absolutely necessary. Which is just a longwinded manner of saying, thanks for making this vid.
We, society, needs to truly understand the DEFINITION of an “unsafe environment.” Someone in attendance who simply disagrees with you does NOT make it “unsafe” it just makes YOU uncomfortable. And that is a part of life, in the famous words of Candace “life’s tough kid get a helmet” 😂
If, for instance, Jeffery Dahmer was in attendance then THAT would qualify it as an unsafe environment.
Tbh at what wokes would consider a 'safe space' there are likely way MORE jeffrey dahmers in attendance than otherwise. Just look at the furry "community", there are SO many pedo and animal abuser catches in that circle alone that it's not funny.
I can think of a safe place, it used to be called the asylum.
As a german I can confirm that excluding people from events because of their political views leads to very interesting actions. We last had this around 1940 here in germany. My advice: Grab your popcorn and enjoy the show.
I think it’s time we show these people what real unsafe is.
No, that is not the way. They are already showing thier own flaws, emotional instability, and unwillingness to accept others. Let them shout from the rooftops to the world how wrong they are. Don't do anything that would prove thier point, it's just a loss.
Please understand that not us Canadians are like this. Vancouver and the area around it is one of the biggest cesspools in the country, British Columbia is our version of California
Not ALL of bc, just the south-west corner
Brett once again is the voice of reason. I blame out current education system for not teaching people emotional intelligence.
I don’t think regular people go to those expos anymore. Thanks to those weirdos
Ooh, Rocky's here! 😊💜
I’m not a cosplayer but I say let them do what they want without being judged out loud
The people that said accept everyone won’t accept these people 😂😂
They don´t need permission to open their big mouths. And why not judge them? A sane person judges others all the time. That´s how they can tell who is a funcional human being, and who is a jerk.
Wait.. Hold up. You own a home that has multiple floors? In this economy? Wow. Must be nice.
I would like to add that Gina Carano was the first ever UFC woman champion ; which to me is a great milestone for women athletes; and one of her greatest accomplishment. In perspective, her presence would make any expo safer. Period! And she's an awesome human being.
The first UFC Women's Champion was Ronda Rousey. Gina has never officially competed for UFC. She was Strikeforce for most of her MMA career and is only contracted to UFC because of that.
as a Canadian, i feel ashamed to live in the same country as anybody who complained about this
People who need “safe spaces” should go to jail. Because when you’re emotionally unstable due to the existance of humans that aren’t exactly like you, you’re probably ‘backed into a corner crazy’ and should just live in jail, it’s so super safe there. You can watch tv, play online, don’t be offended by the gym or the having to actually go outside and TOUCH GRASS
These people never had their lunch money stolen, shoved in a locker and generally bullied for going to these conventions, etc as a kid. Those conventions used to be a safe place from bullying and shaming.
As a practicing jew, it actually gets on my nerves when these people want to "defend" us by silencing Jena, but when it comes to people who openly call for our genocide, it's "well you have to look at the context." Like, get a grip...
As someone who has been an actual victim of abuse etc… it’s people who act this extreme towards others over a comment that become abusers.
As someone who has been bullied… what they are doing is bullying. Plain and simple.
And as someone who has special needs: if you can’t deal in an environment you don’t HAVE to be in, stay home rather than ruin it for all others.
Thoughts and prayers for Gina. I can’t imagine what she’s got to go through right now.
If someone's opinion honestly makes you feel unsafe - and that opinion is anything but "i don't think acts of violence are immoral and i like to do them from time to time randomly and you should too" - then you've never experienced feeling unsafe.
How’s the weather where everyone else is? It’s nice down in Texas. It was cold though.
Here in New Zealand it's hot not Texas hot but hot lol
Here in the Piedmont region of North Carolina it’s cold, but I wish it were snowing.
Cold in SC. We had some storms earlier this month but otherwise, we good.
In the PNW yesterday there was an ice rink right outside my door now it’s just slush 😅
Northern Alberta is a bit chilly at the moment
Here’s a thought: maybe if you the she’s unsafe to be around then why not choose not to go to her table or see her speak at the fan expo why ruin it for everyone else that WANTS to see her
Man I love my country.
Canada is such a nice and peaceful place.
Gina is absolutely incredible in the mandolorian and she should never have been fired for her views
The show declined when she left.
@@josearmando726 absolutely

I live an hour away from Toronto. Went to Fan expo in Toronto a few times and did notice the majority of the cosplayers to people attending were the dweebs who barely left their basement to the alphabet group. I'm a geek for Sci fi and especially batman yet that expo turned me away from being proud of being a geek.
in a over crowded world , the grave is a "safe space" , feel free to go
I've been a cosplayer for over 8 years and a Star Wars fan for longer, and i can confirm cosplayers aren't the problem here, the Star Wars fans are. SW fans are CONSTANTLY fighting with eachother over stupid things, its idiotic. Most cosplayers ive met are super friendly, every group has its bad apples but SW fans are toxic asf
Oh man that Deadpool "Make it Stop" Got me. Editors nailed it again
if they need a safe space, there is always their basement. they can turn it into a survival bunker
I enjoy cosplaying and I am in high school… but never in a million years would I cosplay in public my god I would die of embarrassment 😭
Here's a thing you can do: if a con has a guest you don't like you can either (a) ignore the guest or (b) just not go. I have paid to see exactly one guest over the course of a dozen-ish cons. There are also people who, if they were on a con guestlist, i might think about skipping that one. It's not hard to avoid the guests you don't like/agree with. Acting like sharing the multi-level building's air with someone you don't agree with is a danger to you is ridiculous. I walk all over those buildings around people who I disagree with for an entire convention and nothing happens. Quit making con goers/cosplayers look insane-!
Thanks
Calling normal people "dangerous" really starts to dilute the meaning of the word dangerous... :/
I met Gina at FanExpo Denver, with my friend (the Cosplayer Brett referenced who was on stage with Gina), and boy… is Gina literally the sweetest person in the room. She might be able to take almost anyone to the ground, but she couldn’t hurt a fly.
And no one there was really protesting her attendance. In fact, she had the longest lines to meet her fans.
Sad that these “fans” can’t, for a moment, use logical thought (or proper grammar) to actually look at what Gina has actually said and done. Unfortunately, being brainwashed by their ideology, tends to keep them firmly planted in their “safe space”.
Hey, let them enjoy their “safe space”. I’m going to go to conventions now, without having to worry about them bothering me.
Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! Always on point. Lets just say its a very small minority that have the victim hood here in Canada! Great job clarifying the false news!
The fact that people need safe spaces is already ridiculous. The fact that you think not sharing an opinion with someone makes a place not safe is even worse.
'Safe' = forcibly purged of anything deemed offensive by a fringe minority
Remember now a days: “Words are violence” and “Silence is violence” so… yeah….
Most people who are worried about having "safe spaces" should be more concerned about their own behaviors than the ideology of the they are afraid of. It's as if the idea of a safe space exists more to protect them from caving to their own impulse to tantrum, rather than to protect themselves from the people they want excluded.
Your editors are incredible. How do they find these video clips? They work perfectly.
But what sort of safe space is a convention full of thousands of strangers?
This is so bizarre. Imagine being so weak and fragile that you avoid your favorite event of the year, simply because someone whose ideals are different from yours was invited. Jeebus, imagine that! So, so weak.
I used to go to new york comic con every year when i was younger. Its like 70% white dudes in thier 20s and 30s. 20% of those dudes have girlfriends, who they brought with them, dressed as Harley Quinn, Psylocke or Princess Leia. The other 10% is alphabet weirdos who are dressed as anime characters or Furries. The picture that first interviewee painted was horribly inaccurate. Then again, i havent been in about 8 years, and the world has gotten much crazier since then.
Literally reading The Coddling Of The American Mind. It really shows exactly what has been happening in colleges the last 7 or so years and now it's happening out in the real world. Ughhh
I bet the people in the article complaining about Gina don't even know what she's supposed to have said that was SO offensive. They just heard she's a racist and assume it's true.
Tbh, if you are imunocompromised you should stay away from conventions in general no matter the speakers.
As a cosplayer, this is why I don't associate myself with the cosplay community
I guess that user has no idea what an "unsafe environment" is.
I met Gina at Boston Fan Expo and she is extremely nice. An awesome woman with a GREAT sense of humor!!!!
They already do, it’s called “Comic-Con”
I'm 6" deep in snow and 3 layers of ice in that(Washington). Glad I'm enjoying my wood fired fire place for now.... Oh wait next year that might not be a thing. I'm not sorry I kept my house and senior parents warm and....alive? ALIVE that's my point, a lot of people depend on wood burning appliances for life
These Safe Spaces were stolen from the fans, twisted, and then they told the og fans that the space is no longer yours and if you show up, it's violence!
I larp and cosplay at renaissance festivals...and these people are just mental
