Thanks for this great series. Getting his perspective and stories first hand is just fantastic. Which book are the games taken from, e.g. at the end of this episode?
The interview is legendary! Thanks! Just the subtitles are too long and harder to read because of the long texts. I wish I understand Russian because it must be even cooler to just listen and watch. >(
wow, this material is pure gold. I must thank to Garrys interviever to deliver to us so much unknown information about Kasparov. Here one of them about Fischer Karpov match: Fischer wasnt psychologically prepared for that kind of challenge. Fischer was used to playing against people who were older than he was." and men, I ve never thought about that! indeed, when you think about it, Ficher was playing mostly against older opponents, feeling like he is a prodigy or underdog. That was psychological advantage, not to mention when your opponent is 10 years younger in professional sport, like it would be if Fischer Karpov match would took place...
Kasparov is great in Chess, like Topalov in Bulgaria they won at tournaments., Bobby Fischer once told very short that Kasparow has had great talant, sorry my english is not so great but some things
My mom i asked once who she think the greatest best player was, her answer was Kortchnoi! And i asked what about Kasparow? She told :also great player. Privet za Magerramov!
Kasparov's love of chess more than any other player except Judit Polgar...comes across first...his story reveals how the game not only gave him a path towards greatness but it was also the saving force for his mother....who he speaks unerringly about.......where Gary hints that without his chess she may have lost her mind...after her husbands death... interesting though is how maybe even subconsciously....he as well as most top players....always find a way to backhand the genius of Bobby Fischer....there is always a comment that undermines his ability.....notice here that it is all about what Botvinnik said....that Fischer was losing his mind..falling apart afraid to play....Gary thinks Bobby just couldnt handle the young players....because he came from a different era....but notice little time is given to his playing skills...Gary even throwing in the dig...that Spassky played better against karpov than he did Fischer....while taking a worst beating..... Gary Kasparov is without question the greatest chess player in history and NO Magnus does not come close.....but at the time that Bobby Fischer won the Championship.....He was the strongest player ever! fine video.......looking forward to the rest...
He has always acknowledged the greatness and genius of Fischer including in the series My Great Predecessors. He has acknowledged that the dominance Fischer achieved in 1970-72 is unparalleled. He frequently describes Carlsen as a combination of Fischer and Karpov. In this episode, he is only reflecting how they saw it in the seventies and there is no question Botvinnik was a central figure and his mentor- and it is not unfair for him to portray Botvinnik's perspective on Fischer- no matter how biased it was. Besides Fischer left possibilities of this type of conjectures by not playing Karpov.
Mnogo Armayn zanimali vysokie posti v Azerbaijane ! Stydno, gospodin Kasparov, govorit chto s familiyey Kasparov v Baku bylo ne udobno zhit. Esli by ne Karabahskiy konflikt, kotoryi nam navyazali russkie chekisty i dashnaki, to armyane v baku prekrasno zhili i prosto gospodstvovali !
While Karpov is pleasant and soberly factual, Kasparov is completely diabolical and ideological. Kasparov is a bad, unreliable character and has ended up right in the heart of the evil of this world, although of course as a very small number within it, one of many front-stage performers. But that is apparently enough for what he always wanted. But anyway, both of them, like all of us, need Jesus Christ - for "as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" (Hebr. 9:27). As already mentioned, Kasparov has probably already chosen his side explicitly ...
What an ungrateful liar, as if being an armenian in Azerbaijan was any sort of an issue at the time, as if nobody knew of his ethnic background. It was his own choice because of anti-semitism in USSR. Azerbaijan and Heydar Aliyev in particular gave him every kind of support in his preparation and training, yet he never mentions that, of course.

Kasparov is great in Chess, like Topalov in Bulgaria they won at tournaments., Bobby Fischer once told very short that Kasparow has had great talant, sorry my english is not so great but some things
My mom told that story Bobby could be better look alike but my father (with Beirru, Líbia was schocked, ans6 Bobby Fischer to talk to us.
What book are they always checking with Kasparov’s games?

interesting though is how maybe even subconsciously....he as well as most top players....always find a way to backhand the genius of Bobby Fischer....there is always a comment that undermines his ability.....notice here that it is all about what Botvinnik said....that Fischer was losing his mind..falling apart afraid to play....Gary thinks Bobby just couldnt handle the young players....because he came from a different era....but notice little time is given to his playing skills...Gary even throwing in the dig...that Spassky played better against karpov than he did Fischer....while taking a worst beating.....
