This man is so profound but in an earthly way kinda. Like, he's so grounded but he has such different thoughts than your 'average human' about everything, and his thoughts are so refreshing to hear too. Absolute legend.

This might be a bit of a reach. He’s definitely a unique individual but nothing hes said was particularly deep or profound. I think you might be a little starstuck if you think he’s that profound. Don’t get me wrong, he’s interesting for sure but acting like anything he’s had to say way beyond surface level is a bit of a reach. I’ve been blinded by fan girling out before, too, putting my idols and people i look up to on a sort of pedestal.

Josh and the others are the same age as me (and coincidentally grew up in a town a half hour from me), yet they seem so much more connected with the universe than anyone I’ve seen. I only discovered them a week ago, but I feel like I’ve known them my whole life. Their first two albums were outstanding, but their new album is literally if life, itself, had its own soundtrack. I’m so grateful for them. 💛
Josh has changed my life! After singing through the new album countless times my vocal range has improved SOOO much! He has the most unique and beautiful voice. Honest to God, he embodies all that is good about music and has made me a better musician. I will always be indebted to GVF. Bucket list dream would be to sing a duet with Josh! Haha A girl can dream!

@@they_call_me_deb1264 Naha, he “fumbles over words” all of the time in interviews. Some have even said he has a stutter, he does not. The pause and correction of words while he is speaking is a sign of intelligence, speaking, stopping to correct or determine the correct words he wants to use. Not a fumble or inability what so ever.
OH MY! I could watch and listen to the two of you for hours! This was way too short, but long on fun! You love him like we all do and it shows. I know this may sound a little creepy, but what's he like off camera? Is he upbeat, fun and cracking wise like he is on cam? You've hugged him several times - does he smell like a forest, a lake, patchouli? 😂 These interviews make me so happy and I hope you DO tour with them - you'd be AWESOME!!! 🥰🔥🥰🔥
He is totally the same off camera. It's awesome! I had patchouli oil and cedar wood going in my diffuser for his arrival and he lit right up when he walked in and commented on the "wonderful aroma" 😉

it's actually mind boggling how much he looks like my ex boyfriend, but personality wise, empathy wise, brain wise; they are complete opposites. my ex was cold, harsh, emotionless.
josh is so warm, open and genuine.
i was so attracted to Josh's personality at first, primarily, it wasn't until i was able to take in his inner beauty, i realized he is literally identical to my ex. (my ex is from Michigan)

I have watched a lot of their interviews and sense a weirdness toward Josh, especially from Jake. I don’t think Josh realizes how integral he is to their success. I bought all their albums because of josh. His voice is magic. They need to show him more respect. I always get the impression the others think they are more important than Josh. He may not play an instrument in the band, but his vocals are the heart and soul. I hate watching interviews where they don’t let Josh talk. Josh has stage presence and charisma. He’s amazing to watch.

i’m not sure that’s true. in other interviews with their mother she has said that Jake recognizes josh gave up his dream for them as a group, and is willing to do the same when Josh is ready. You have to realize 2/4 are siblings and very much act like it. They interrupt and get frustrated with each other, but they’re all on equal playing field. Josh talks the most in some interviews and the least in others, and he interrupts and gets interrupted, it’s just how it is. In some interviews there are comments upon comments talking about how much sam gets interrupted because he’s the baby, or how all 3 always talk over each other.
Josh is definitely the most talkative and the one that actually interrupts the most haha. Jake seems more reserved and shy, and honestly seems like he'd rather let josh do the talking most of the time. In any case, they really are best friends and love each other dearly. Not only they themselves have said it, and people close to them, but I think if you watch closely how they interact it is evident.

Everyone compares this band to Led Zeppelin, and they should, but listen to Rush too, Geddy singing Bytor and the Snowdog comes to mind.
These guys are a nice addition to the long list of great rockers from Michigan.

Hey Melissa, I love you but I just wanted to say that I think saying “all” of the female fans act obsessive and creepy just isn’t true and it’s hurtful. We all can admit they’re beautiful on the outside, but the real fans have fell in love with music and the message that they put into the world. They are so unbelievably talented and most of us just focus on that.

If by Indigo child you mean gifted, you are spot on. I know quite a bit about gifted kids, and he’s a gifted kid if I ever saw one. All four of them are, of course, but Josh in particular is a prime example.
@@kellycole5671 Yes, gifted, but more in a spiritual/metaphysical/philosophical sense than academic. Music, art and film are just the mediums he chooses to express his philosophy. I would love to sit down and have a serious philosophical conversation with him.

Here is some stern advice for Josh. Find other bands to ripoff other than Zeppelin. Change it up a bit ya know. One day...wake up and pretend to be Black Sabbath...OR say...Fleetwood Mac.
Ya know. Give yourself credit. A Zeppelin tribute band named Greta Van Queef or Greta Van Suck ya know. It can be more than one thing. Like the Van Halen thing you guys have going with your name. Since Eddie Van Halens gone...here's a perfect oppurtunity for you guys to move in on that game. Hell....change your name to Greta Van Halen. I'm not saying you have to stop pretending to be or ripping off the mighty Zeppelin. Just change it up a bit...and rip off other bands too. Josh is EVERYTHING, the full spectrum of light. The critical thinking and wisdom of an old soul, yet so young with his silly and goofy humor. He's absolutely beautiful inside and out. "A smile that can light up a room" doesn't even come close to describing the light that shines from him. The person that gets his love and devotion....I can't even describe how lucky that individual is.

But I have the feeling that at least Josh has his own way of keeping things in perspective. I think he's such an intelligent, thoughtful and well balanced soul, I could listen to him talk for hours. josh is so beautiful in every way, especially energy. as an empath i can tell he is just the most pure human and would never purposely harm another being. he has such a bright, loving, and welcoming energy to him. it’s so interesting to see someone so popular have the exact same thought process as me and to see him look at the world how i do. it makes me so happy to know we have people like him in the world still and i’m not just alone. i would so love to meet him

“Fuck fear and live your legend through the intelligence of love” is my favorite quote.. he said it for the first time some months ago in an interview, I think, and ever since I heard it, it’s always been on my mind and written on a paper on my wall, where I can always see it and be inspired by it.
Also: “everybody is his type?” Thank you for saying that, now I’m a happy girl! 😂 I’m starting to think that everyone in the peaceful army is “their type”, because we love them and understand them and believe in what they do.. There’s always a lot of love spreading from them that you feel loved somehow.. I don’t know if this makes sense, but yeah..

I love your approach with this interview, it just seemed like being in the basement having a conversation. Loved it! I truly believe all of Greta Van Fleet as so kind and for real. Both sets of parents are also so nice. No wonder they turned out the way they did. Rooting for you to get to go on a gig with them. That would be so fun.

I personally think as an interviewer you should never point out favoritism among brothers. It’s awkward for him to hear that all the girls like HIM and everyone favorites him over the rest of the band. 1) it’s wrong and 2) it makes the person you’re telling this to, and the others you’re excluding from it feel extremely uncomfortable.
Imagine if everyone told your sibling she’s way better looking than you and everyone knows it. You’d be like… ehhh, that’s not true. Everyone perceives things differently

The tone of the whole interview is fantastic. It felt like being included in a personal conversation. You guys mesh to well. Can't believe I've spent all this time not knowing about Josh & his band, especially considering I've lived in southwest Michigan my whole life. Apparently my husband knew about them & didn't tell me lol. People are holding out on me! 😆
Josh is beautiful in every way!! Another completely beautiful and talented human is Dimash, if you haven't heard of him check him out, start with SOS, it will blow you away! A completely different genre but so super talented (oops did I say that already?) hailed by many as the best singer in the world and I would be hard pressed to disagree. The same as with GVF I was instantly hooked the first time I heard him.
Dimash is the greatest vocalist to ever live...hands down!

I knew these young men were down to earth:) I really love the fact that they're from a small town in Michigan, my boyfriend is a musician as well and he's from Lansing, and he has similar values as these young men! They have really good manners and respectful towards others:)

I remember thinking that Greta Van Fleet was a band of the 80s and then being unable to process the fact that they are so young. Their music is genuinely some of the best music released in the last couple of decades. But in addition to their unbelievable talent, to say that these guys' personalities and the way they have approached their careers has really impressed me is an understatement. They give me hope for the future of music and artistry. We are all tired of the hollowness and industrialization of music, and seeing what they stand for is the biggest inspiration one can ask for as an artist. It's all about the music, the message, the art, the LIVE experience of music and making the world a better place. The fame, the manufacturing of music, the money, the stupid pretensions and the absurdity of the "celebrity world" is all bullshit. Hopefully their amazing career paves the way for some real artists with some real honest music to follow. Thank you for giving us an insight into Josh's mind, he and his brothers (danny included) are exceptional people.
