i know Im asking randomly but does anybody know of a method to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my account password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me
@James Bowie Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
I have finished reading the story, it was really good! It has such a touch of magical realism that I really enjoyed and it was also a good coverage of the changing times during a period of almost 100 years. My favorite part, the pass of stories from daughter to daughter in an a way of maintaining the past alive
1) When the Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie Mclemore 2) Next Year in Havana by Chanel Cleeton 3) Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz 4) Daughters of the Stone by Dahlma Llanos-Figueroa 5) We Set the Dark on Fire by Tehlor Kay Mejia
But were is Elizabeth Acevedo the Poet X was such a good book read it over the summer it has themes of struggling with religion in the Hispanic community and lgbtqia themes it’s amazing and not a hard read I strongly recommend it
OmG! Thank you for this! We get slept on so bad! My name is Alexandria Infante, and I am a paranormal, Contemporary, Suspense and Historical Latinx author, and I write in 5genres; but we don't fit in any category, because people overclock us on the regular. ! Thank you soooo much for this video!
I JUST finished reading Juliet Takes a Breath by Gabby Rivera and it spoke to my soul 🥺💛💛 but the Brooklyn Brujas series by Zoraida Cordova is my fave forever
The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo is really good book told from the perspective of an Afro-Hispanic teen. The book is written in poems but she talks about her life and the struggles in her household, it's such a good book I really recommend it.
Idk if there’s many people who are into the military on this page but one good book is “Bounty Hunter 4/3” by Jason Delgado. Talks about being raised in the Bronx, joining the Marine Corps, and his life after the military Channel* not page lol
Yesss as a half Mexican, half British book lover, am loving this video! These books all sound great, especially We Set the Dark on Fire 🙃📚 Will definitely check them out 😊👍
I read “Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of Universe” while working at the my local public library. It was recommended by the librarian and let me tell you it was E V E R Y T H I N G my gay ass would hope for! 10/10 recommend 💜
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe!! I loved that book and I was waiting for you to mention Lin-Manuel because his narration of it was utter perfection (as with everything else he does). I'm stoked about the book club!
Thank you Claudia!!! I hope this series continues, I literally just text my primas to start a book club because we don’t give our Latin authors enough support!!
I read Daughters of the stone and honestamente I cried while reading the book but I couldn’t put the damn thing down. Literally stayed up till like 2 en la mañana for 3 days until I finished it. The most beautiful story I’ve ever read.
I've been wanting to start to read books in Spanish to help me learn and get more comfortable when speaking but I dont really know where to start can someone give me some recommendations for beginning-intermediate Spanish books to pick up?
Hola hola! You may like start on childrens books or for youngs: Abran cancha que aquí viene Don Quijote de la Mancha -by Adela Bach. (Its really funny) Dailan Kifky by María Elena Walsh. Or maybe Las Rositas by Graciela Cabal. They are Argentinian
Claudia Restrepos thank you so much for the love and support. I can not wait to hear your review when you finish the novel, Daughters of the Stone. Thank you, Dahlma!
I love this!!!! Please make more videos like these. I seldom see my culture being represented, especially in the literary scene. Thank you for making this video
Hello Claudia, this is a great idea for a book club and thank you for the recommendations to start us off, I look forward to reading these. Please keep sharing the info :o)
@@trevornunes2004 Couldn't agree more. For me personally, her work was one of the factors that helped me find my way home to & reconnect with my Mexican roots.
The House on Mango Street is such a good book and I recommend seeing the play. I saw the play in freshman year and it was amazing the actors did an incredible job 10/10 would go see it again!
I loved Next year in Havanna! I totally agree with the comment about the past being a bit more interesting than the present day story. I'm definitely adding the rest of these books to my reading list for the year.
Can we get a movie club too?? Fundamentals: American me, blood in blood out, Mi familia, mi vida loca, bajo la misma luna, nicotina, y tu mama tambien!!
Other Latinx books you may enjoy: Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Córdova Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia The Grief Keeper by Alexandra Villasante Don’t Date Rosa Santos by Nina Moreno
Next Year in Havana is one of my favourite books! I have read it three times. The characters are absolutely amazing and the use of imagery throughout the book, especially in regard to Cuba is wonderfully done. Such a great read!
Wasn't much of a fan of Next Year in Havana, though, I did like the political parts of the book. Would be interested to read some nonfiction books on Cuba's political history. I've read some of McLemore's work, but haven't read When the Moon was Ours. Don't think her writing style is for me since I don't like flowery writing, but I did enjoy her short story in the anthology All Out. But I love and adore Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. I've been reading it once a year, every year since 2017. It's by far my favorite book ever. Sáenz is a wonderful, talented author and I've read two of his other books as well!
I'm in for the book club plus watching more videos like this one. I'm puerto rican and a book worm, plus looking for more latinx recommendations. My reading plan this year is read more books by latinxs.
Currently reading Gods of Jade and Shadow by Sylvia Moreno-Garcia and I am loving it. I also loved Labyrinth Lost (Brooklyn Brujas #1) by Zoraida Cordova and want to listen to the audiobook for The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo and read ShadowShaper by Daniel Jose Older and Yaqui Delgado wants to Kick Your Ass by Meg Medina
Yes please thank you for sharing. I want to support my community. However none of the books caught my interest. I love mystery. Do we have any mystery books?
Omg we definitely need a Pero Like book club! 😍 and Zoraida Córdova's Brooklyn Brujas series is great! The first one is Labrynth Lost. Claudia you have to read it!
You should check out the novels by Ecuadorian-American author Ernesto Quinonez "Chango's Fire" and "Bodega dreams". New Yorkers will identify with these books.
I'm going to be picking up Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe sounds really interesting. PS am I the only one that loves Claudia, I think she is the most beautiful girl on pero like
More recommendations... With the Fire on High and Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo are great and if you listen to the the experience will be better. Corazon, Tesoro y Hermosa by Yesika Salgado for those that like poetry. I've only read the 1st one and it was good. Brooklyn Brujas trilogy by Zpraida Cordova is great if you like brujeria and fantasy. I definitely need to read more Latinx books.
Can we have more of these? This is amazing to have the Latino side of books come out and would love to see more of that representation in literature and reading please.
Hi, I'm so excited about this kind of video. I love books and seeing someone that love them as much as I do talking about stories and adventures, makes me want to read every damn story! You can be sure that I'm going to get those books and read them all! They sound amazing and interesting and please keep up with this Pero Like Book Club 😍 if we could get together in a virtual way to talk about thoses book together would be amazing (like a discord group chat 😍) Can't wait to see more of this great content 👌🏽
Can this become a regular series? This is something I don’t see represented enough in general and on this channel.

“ The Poet X” and “With the Fire on High” by Elizabeth Acevedo both need to be on this list!

Alberto H I’m saying
What does “Latinx” mean? Is it like a gender neutral term?

What was wrong with just Latin??? In Spanish, it makes no sense.
Nobody says Latinx. Who made that up!?
Where the heck are The House on Mango Street & The Distance Between Us???
