Looks like someone has been messing around with the front sensors, No car manufacturer would let a car leave a factory with wire’s hanging like that. Brilliant video your work ethic is second to none 👍👍
Ford really should have done a recall on them rear vents, and give you a new rear badge they all seem to deteriorate the same ,nice work your doing 👍
Another good video mark another place i commonly see leaks on the nsr is where the boot lid wires go into the car i remove that gromit with the wires going through it put some mastic around the gromit and area and fit back in.
That was a good days work Mark well done great video.
Thanks Lee I do like just get stuck in its surprising how much you can get done 👍👍
Top job as always thanks for sharing 👍👍
Coming along superbly mark dried out really well it’s surprising how much moisture comes out 😃👍
Thanks buddy yeah definitely I’ll message you tomorrow get it back to you thanks again buddy 👍👍
Hi mark. I was so absorbed in the rear and interior fixes. I totally forgot about the front damage, until you showed it in the video
🤣🤣. The front sensors defo need taking off. Don't need to go down any Rabbit Holes at this stage of the rebuild.
Hi mark you always do a good job and you. sort it out at the end all the best to you and your family :-) :-) :-)
Hi Mark. When i was an apprentice for a British Leyland garage it would be our job to do warranty work ie Rain leaks. We found that leaks would be found at the spot weld joints and where panels meet, also around pop rivetts where trims had been riveted to the different parts of the cars, also the door aputure rubbers (door seals), and windscreens needed sealing. Some of the leaks would take days to trace. Just to give you an idea. brill Video.
Thanks buddy appreciate your info yeah water leaks are a pain what I have done might not have solved it hopefully I have nice one buddy 👍👍
Have fixed a few of these damp Focus's. A lot of the time its leaking in under the turret molds, near the back of the roof where the seam sealer has deteriorated
Hi mark great video again front sencers definitely not genuine I would remove and go back to stock and what is happening with the blue fiesta
That should nifty a whole load fresher inside. Well done on vacuum and cleaning before putting the carpets back in, I think it is well worth the effort, any wouldn't
Great video mark. That got to be a fake front sensor. The buzzer in the car is the giveaway sign on it. Check another Ford Focus if unsure tho.
Thanks buddy a very hard day but worth it this car s getting there I will see if I can look another focus but think I will cut it out 👍👍
Mark looks like previous owner has fitted a gia front bumper plus the wheels and adapted the front sensor wiring. You could get another ghia bumper in colour or fit a zetec one without sensors.
I have the exact same car, colour model everything, with the same leak. I did that fix last year, it did not solve my leak. I had water as far up as the plastic trim above the rear quarter window, i believe that it comes in under the boot spoiler and runs back into the car via the rubber boots with the wiring in.. the water in mine was soapy so i knew it was from jet washing.
If the front parking sensors are factory , it will show up on the display on the dashboard when driving forward below 10 mph .
The parking sensor screen will display a front and rear radar pattern.
Do the parking sensors come on the display screen if not there not original and can easily be removed like you say
Ive done the vents on mine. Carpets in foot wells still soaked. Can i dry them out somehow without taking all the carpets and seats out.
I had the same problem with my 2012 focus took the bung out pulled out the white material let it drain and left the bung out no problem never leaked again
Snap, same here on my 63 reg 1.6tdci ,all sorted now great car had it about 9 years,
Wow Mark. You surprised me when you took the seats out to clean a car now the carpets Lol. Kidding you I know it was wet in there. That focus looks a nice little car, will do the next owner well I’m sure Once your finished
@@ResurwreckAutosUK
Yes mate it did and you (as normal) gone above and beyond, that’s why we all watch.
Keep up the good work Mark Rip those front sensors out. Aftermarket. Some ok some not so good but that buzzer not good mate
@@stuwillis7710 yeah I think I will just cut it out the wires look well Ruth 👍👍
Cut the censors off mark more trouble and they are worth you have done well tonight not to much chatting 👏👏👏
Good work Mark should have a button on centre console for parking sensors but it has got titanium wheels on does it say zetec on log book
Thanks John I don’t have a logbook but it was sold as a zetec I think I will check 👍👍
Definitely aftermarket sensors. I keep seeing fairies flying around especially when you were in the car after you finished the interior. Is it dust or fairies? 🧚♀️
Hi mark, hope you’re doing well. Usually how much the cost for fixing this kind of water leaking? TIA
What is happening to the non starter Mark
Hi Mark, wer is ur garage in UK.? I have the same issue but the mechanic said while taking off the vents, the clips will break and need to install new air vents. And to procure the new vents is expensive and quite a task. Plz let me know what can be done?
This car was probably a Motability car when new and the supplying dealer will have retro fitted them for the new owner, as I think it was part of the Motability criteria for their new cars. Hope this helps. 👍 👍
Rip' that sensor wiring out, that's not factory fitted at all' it's a Bodge job. & Ford would never fit a (Buzzer) poking out of the center console like that.
Did you find a new home for the frogs 🐸 and fish 🐟 that previous owner kept in boot. 😀👍👍
I had the same problem a couple years ago, the passenger footwell was that wet you could hear it sloshing around 😂
@@Kellymelissa92pull the bungs out of under the rear bumper each side to see if any water comes out it either comes in through the air vents behind the bumper or through the taillights and runs into the boot after a build up of water it get moves around pushing the water forward
Front sensors fitted as “extra” by Ford dealers our 63 reg has them so semi original! NB ours don’t work either!
Need front bumper wire loom
no need whatsoever to take bumper off..get holesaw drill hole each side approx 2 inches..pull out white insulation..bingo no more problems
Mark what's happening about the blue focus that wont start
Hi Stephen it’s a fiesta the blue one and nothing is happening with it I do have other projects
Hi buddy just cut the wires off and just have sensors on the back
The wires don't look good
In reality there is no point sealing the vents again, they just work loose again over time
Just go underneath the car, remove the black blanking plug on either side, then use long nose pliers to remove the insulation
Any water than then comes in goes straight out
That's what I've done. They will just fill up again and the water has no way to get out but soak into that insulation material that I've thrown away
Those sensors are not Ford the module would say ford on it as you know I worked at ford garage and even when we put it on as an optional extra as part of warranty we had to use genuine ford parts which said it on the parts and we had to install the dash button aswell
Mark it is a dehumidifier not a humidifier 👍👍🇦🇺
can anyone explain why those vents exist in rare bumper??
Hi mate definitely a pain there’s are I think they are for air circulation
It’s actually to relieve the air pressure when you close the boot. If all doors are closed and you slam the boot shut, the windows could crack.
I think you had one that you couldn't get the front cencers to work maybe someone figured out how to make them work
The words you was looking for mark was
carbon pollen filter 😁
Thanks Harry yeah you can see I don’t work to a script all real with me 👍👍
Cut it out Mark - no way is it original or right!
Leave that sound deadening material out next time; if water does get in there again that's the capillary action. And if you do leave the grommets out then any water that does get up there on a wet day comes back out and not soak into the material .. winning!!
2 other areas to waterproof, where the panels meet there in the boot and the roof rail gutters get cracks and leak so seal them up
Check the back sensors before you play about too much as I don't think they are standard either. The radar display didn't come up when you reversed.
My 2011 Zetec came with optional parking sensors on the back. As standard the Zetec didn't come with any.
Front sensors are almost certainly a dealer fit made by a third party. Back in the day we sold all sorts with new cars.
Pretty crap front sensors. It might be a good idea to get rid f them bud
Mark it is a dehumidifier not a humidifier 👍👍🇦🇺
Mark it is a dehumidifier not a humidifier 👍👍🇦🇺
Hi Mark, please stop using domestic sealants. You need automotive grade that will resist weather and temperature changes. you need to use the right product for the environment. Great idea to take the carpet out and use a dehumidifier just make sure all the doors and air vents are closed or you'll just draw air/moisture from the outside
I used Tiger Seal
