Looks like a nice day for a hike. Nice short one today...
You know, it took me years to figure out why they named it Biscuit Basin, then one day, the park service put up a little entry why it was named Biscuit.
I figured someone in the Washburn expedition cooked breakfast there. lol.
No, it was named for the small rock formations around Sapphire Pool. Then one day after the 1959 earthquake, Sapphire erupted, and all the little "biscuits" went away.
But the name stuck, lol. They should post these little explanations by the basins themselves...

Big fan of your videos. Never been to Yellowstone and probably never will. I love how organized you are, your orientation, and composition of videos. Amazing scenery. Fantastic the way you frame your shots, and the editing that you do. It is great to know the wide scope of Yellowstone. I had no idea of the vast wilderness that you take your viewers on. I also like your respect that you show to all the features of the park and your comments are very informative, but also warm and amusing. With all the news we get these days, it is meditative to get away from all that and just see you and the mountains, geysers, waterfall, and the occasional bear 🙂. My only wish is if you knew the names of some of the trees as I am interested in plant life. Otherwise, more adventures, please. Thanks for everything.

Nice one Park Junkie. That area reminded me of my old stomping grounds in the Adirondacks, specifically the Lake Durant area and beyond. If you have never been to upstate New York can always stick a pin in the idea. Also spend some time at Lake Champlain while your at it. My favorite launching point was from the Burlington side of the lake, but the whole are at that time was some nice looking country. You can get on a ferry and I recommend you try them all. I recommend the Velcor for your first ride if it's still running. These memories are from 1980 to 89, so things may have changed, but probably still the same in many ways. As always thanks for all you do Park Junkie.

Thanks for the tour Todd! Biscuit is a great place for photography. I remember laying down on the boardwalk to get close up photos of the different thermophile colors and abstract patterns. I never made it to Mystic Falls, or Fairy Falls for that matter, so thanks for the hike along! Most of the yellows are Arrow leaf Balsamroot.
The last time I was there was before the park service built an "official" trail to Grand Prismatic overlook, so you know how long that's been. I have some shots from that spot that still make me smile.

Park Junkie! You do an outstanding job of presenting the trails and viewpoints of Yellowstone! I’ve hiked most of the same trails, and I really enjoy your joy in being there. Gotta ask, though, when hiking in grizzly country, why don’t you take hiking partners for safety’s sake? You were fortunate, I think, on Top Notch/First Peoples’ Peak to have had a buddy when you met that bear family. Alone, you may have had more trouble. Primary comment, though, thanks for making very enjoyable videos!
