The nice thing about older cars is you can buy one and actually improve it. And I don’t mean wrap stuff with carbon look foil or removing the cats, but things like taking out parts of your dash and clean them with a little brush at your kitchen table. Then neatly put it back in, reglue some loose trim, replace a few rusty screws. After a while, you’ll have a car that is so much better and nicer compared to what you bought. Compare that to a new car where there’s nothing to be done and you have to wait for stuff to break or get old to get the same satisfaction.
You can redo everything, but when it comes to interior you rarely can do it as good/better, than factory. Clips snap, stuff gets loose and however cleaned and refreshed it will rattle most of the time. I agree with the satisfaction part, can't buy that feeling. To make something your own, by your own hands, great feeling, but if you're not professional, time and effort is not always enough. But I hear you my man. :)

The first video I've seen from you, and I just have to say, don't stop! It's rare for me to come across people on UA-cam whom I find so charismatic and genuine. Thanks!
I grew up a gearhead thanks to my father. Im 25 now and im starting to differentiate needs and wants when it comes to my cars. Ive deducted that every single upgrade or mod I want to get for my cars are just that, a want. I can no longer justify 99% of things I want to do to my cars, besides maintenance items, and it saddens me that I no longer have the spark for cars that I used to. Ive owned a 96 miata for 9 years and a 94 FJ80 for 5 and theyre the only cars I plan on keeping for eternity and slowly modding as I have been doing because they are so reliable. My daily is a 2013 Passat TDI and it will remain stock until i get another daily. Ive wanted to delete and tune it so bad, but in all actuality, its just an un-needed cost. Plus I've still got a warranty on it thanks to dieselgate. Nowadays youre better off getting into hard drugs than becoming a car enthusiast
At some point, needs will get less and less so youll have the money for the wants. Big copium here prolly, just thinking of fixing my shitbox .... but tbf, my wants are the needs since itll make it actually work lmao
At 40 i still enjoy modding cars and just tinkering and playing around with them. At my age its more of a "im NOT gonna pay that much money" for something that won't hold its value and upon which im gonna get low balled to hell if i ever were to sell it.
As a proud VW Polo 6n2 driver, I am happy that my car never failed me except for the time when the clutch was gone, the fuel pump clogged, the radiator leaked for unknown reasons, the exhaust pipe rusted completely and the timing belt broke which resulted "Totalschaden". But it was the car I adored so much and it lasted many years, even when I first bought it with 270k km of wear and tear and a broken taillight. Rest in Peace Polo, you’ll be forever my first #1 car.
Proud Polo 9n owner here and I love my little shitbox to bits. When I bought it she was in terrible conditions, with missing pieces and parts that desperately needed repair. Been slowly working on it and turning it into my idea of a little sports car (despite the fact that it has possibly the most dreaded engine of it's lineup: the 1.9 SDI, and engine swapping is not legal where I live.) I am going to keep that car until the day it will die, and then I'll probably get another one with the 1.9 TDI!
Had a '97 M3, sold it at nearly 200k mi when I was about to have my first kid. Always thought I'd "just" buy another one ... well, now I'm in a place to do that and they're just so expensive. It's hard to justify spending that much money on a "toy." We're in the era, where you need to keep your car running, in good condition, on the road, and in your possession at all costs - They are going away, so treat them well. Good luck out there! 👍
My dad was in the same situation with his Beamers. An E30 and two E36s. The E30 was stolen, the first E36's engine disintegrated, and his last E36 was sold in exchange for a Ford (which he also misses) edit: the first E36 was actually an E30
I jumped into a classic car on day one of passing my driving test and loved every minute of it. I went from knowing nothing to doing head gasket changes, brakes, water pump changes, interior restoration, all that. You must understand that a car is not a thing to be worshipped. It is a machine, an appliance like the ones you use at home every day. The car has no personality and no life, but the memories you make with it, those are real. The car must serve you first of all. You should not live in its service. Do not buy a car that does not serve your needs.
Fellow black 1995 e36 m3 with cooked paint owner here, keep up these videos it's a nice commentary style! If you need to figure out the horn with a quick release I'll be hopefully doing mine before I go back to school in a few days. If you're trying to fix it with the stock wheel............ gl

Happy to mention that I do think that enthusiast car values are going to be dropping a bit! Maybe not the crazy stuff, but sometime soon we might finally be able to find obscure cool stuff in an obtainable price range again. From one Ian to another - loved the video, subscribed. Thanks for being a radiator in what is a very complex, hot, and very rapidly changing car scene.
Totally agree. That being said, again, looking at the short term here. Over the next 2, 3 years even, I think enthusiast car prices are going to fall. And manufacturers are still trying to do what they can to keep the analog sports car alive... Caterham has built their entire company around a 60 year old car that they sell new. @@RCGrid
Me and my father own a mk2 golf. We've been restoring it for 3-4 years and we finally got it driving last summer. And i'm very happy because we're adding more and more mods and going to more and more carmeets. I completely agree with Ian.
this video hits home lol, i got a 280z when i was 16 and quickly found myself in uncharted waters lol. the car community and trends have evolved so much over the years, but real enthusiasts dont change. im almost 30 now and still feel as young as when i started.
I’m just glad that as of recent the true car enthusiast are showing by mainting the hobby bc they actually love It not bc they want to look good on camera for some body else’s entertainment
It’s easy. Buy a car that you can afford and maintain. If you can’t afford that dream car, wait until you start a full-time job. Learning delayed gratification is important too. I had been driving my parents’ car. I’ve only bought my first car at 24 (last year) and it’s a great feeling when you can own something you can afford responsibly.
Hard honest truth. Great content. You just got yourself a new subscriber & I've for the fist time tapped on the notification bell for more. Happy 2024.
Bad things are just gate keeping and people telling you what to do/feel about your car. My advices are: 1. Don't worry too much about peoples opinion, talk with everybody but not much, cuz people will start judging your car. If you wanna tune it do it, if you wanna keep stock, do it too. 2. If you can't afford to maintain a lets say sports sedan (an M3 for example) new, you are not able to maintain them used. Only buying prices drop, but the parts you gonna buy are new, so spare parts and labour hold their price tags.
very true points, i think a lot is glamorized, youtubers buying and building crazy cars and making kids with 10k think they can do the same on their budget when they cant even get a service
An example for the gatekeeper argument: they think the AE111 Trueno (if they've ever even heard of it) is a disgrace to the AE86 because it's front-wheel drive.
I bought my first miata early last year. Never thought I'd love this car this much or find out how big the miata community is like you were saying. Good vid bro.
Thats why you get a p80/p2 volvo, way easier to find one not beat to shit. I know ones rwd the other is fwd/awd but the tuning potentials are the similar
yes! just bought my first Porsche ('87 944S). Money pit? you bet. But so much fun to drive. It stands out and I love all the thumbs up I get. Just steer clear of rust. Anything can be overcome but that.
"Please just don´t buy it, it´s a money pit" Yeah, that´s 100% true. Take it from a guy that has poured more than 4x the price of his 46 into mods and mainly repairs and it´s still siting in his barn because of a bad head gasket... I still love that car more than anything though.
Bought an e91 330i last Sunday to replace my current daily (e90 320i). Safe to say I am definitely going to be a BMW guy for life, no matter how many problems I run into 😂
Thank you for not saying car guys are so freaking annoying when girls like cars too. We may be few but we are there. We/I have also noticed that females in the scene cause less drama & less hate then the males. People have forgotten what being a car enthusiast is about.
First got into cars bc of my uncle when he worked at ups he had the big mid life crisis and bought a C7 put me in it for the first time and we took a few laps after the block fell in love when the we were down the street and drifting around the block in about a min with the engine screaming Hell Yea the whole time
Right now it’s difficult to be a car enthusiast … due to inflation it has become much more difficult .. car community is not how it use to be … that being said I bought a s4 2004 b6.. so yes money pit
All the time i see american youtubers or out of europe ones it really hurts because here in Europe the car community is so different. I really would love car meets would be at least 10% of the american ones.
Yeah Euro car meets is full of trashy and weird people with opel Corsa or Ford fiestas. The only nice places are big organised event but it doesn’t have the same street presence. I think the real nice places for car meets are actual race tracks.
@@Dmxravin Here in Greece this is not 100% true but some people are indeed very bad. I would love to give an interview to an American youtuber to explain him how things are in Europe because things are just very different.
Great video! I find that like a lot of things, the hobby as a whole hasn't been the same since the pandemic. With that chip shortage upping the price of anything used, to the drop in supply of manufactured parts. Every aspect of being a car enthusiast has only gotten more expensive. I'm still sticking by my "right of passage" 1981 Toyota Celica. I bought it in 2017 mainly because it uses the tough as nails 22R in a small sports car. I bought it with a cracked block (Unbeknownst to me) and got to experience my first engine rebuild. After all these years that car still brings me so much joy, but fast forward to now. I finally am making enough money to be able to put some into my car and its still going to take years to get anything done at this rate. It feels like any substantial upgrade weather its rebuilding the motor with a stout bottom end for boost, or going a swap route with it is going to cost more than $5k. Back when i first got into the hobby that would have been enough to buy 5 miatas!
This is the first video of your channel and it's really good ! I have turned 24 and looked at cool cars I could buy (in France). I thought a lot about old cars and realised I should go with a less powerfull and a bit less cool (for the car community) 2010's car as you said, better reliability and not as much as a money pit if you choose a reliable model. I think you have a talent for talking about this subject and you seem to be a really chill guy, so I subscribed ! Good luck for the future of the channel, you deserve a lot more subscribers
I think its fun. Its deff a money pit. At the end you're stuck with a master piece or several. You end up driving the regular cars more cause you care less about them lmao. The weekend drives are fantastic though. Also working valet around the house sucks. Ultimately I have nothing else to do anyways so I'm always looking for a project. I may have picked a different path if i could go back.
"Don't buy it, it's a money pit" i agree after experience my rusty Miata blow up 2 months ago and now looking into getting a 2000-2010 German sports car
i resonate with every part of this vido man. we're about the same age group, and it sounds like we have a lot of the same experiences being a part of the car culture. including the first car 💀
My first car is my 2006 Ford Ranger I love that truck and it currently has 326000 miles on it and I'm never getting rid of it. I do plan to lower it soon. I do want some old soviet cars like a lada or GAZ.
I have an 05 RSX Type S that I am restoring. Original parts are available for much, but not all. I used to not consider something like this a performance vehicle, but hace since expanded my mindset. It is fun, though slower than my big old V8s or turbo cars. There is a joy to its simplicity, the tactile feel of the shifter, the darty behavior, revving to the moon to make it go... I realized it is a time machine. Just like an E36, in the sense they just won't ever build them like this anymore (maybe BRZ/86 twins and the Miata come close).
The older i get the more i hate street driving and having money tied up in cars so my enthusiast days are behind me 😢 still have a motorcycle for track days though
I've had my euro S14 Kouki for 9 years and it's the most reliable car I've ever had. They are rusty but that's what you get for living in northern europe and actually driving your car every day
I realized it's easier to modify a newish car that's reliable than an older car that will never be reliable no matter what. That's why I'm selling my super modded 94 Altima. That thing is amazing and it's the coolest car at nearly every meet I bring it to, but thousands have gone into it that I'll never see again, mostly for repairs.
What I like about car communities and car meets is that they're like gift presentations to me. I go to these meets, I look around and pick the cars that I will later steal. So I steal them and you know what? It turns out that 80% of these cars could have been tuned better. So I get down do work and tune them to their maximum potential. I think I deserve some appreciation for this, don't I? Give me some appreciation.
the market today is horrible man. i see rotting corollas for sale on marketplace for like 5 figures. I was lucky to get my volvo s60r right before the prices kind of went up for roughly 7k, but now it would probably sell for nearly 10k in its current condition. social media tax is crazy dude
i used to have an extremely clean 1986 chevrolet el camino, kept it stock but then it caught on fire mid 2022 and i just gave up on cars. also car meets in my area started becoming controversial and trashy. for now, i picked up cycling as a hobby and it is nice to stay in shape while doing something i enjoy in the future, once i get a more stable job i do plan on buying a project car.
That’s awesome, I also love biking I used to commute via bike everyday I miss that a lot. Great middle group -kinda agree ab community, the one in the Midwest I was in was lame but New England is very generous and kind
I bought a Honda Prelude '97 back in august, all was fine until october - since then I've had to repair it every month and I've started hating it and fully regret buying it so yeah don't do it, but I do love it when it works and doesn't explode
I absolutely love my miata, but it is so painful to see dream cars like the s13 becoming unobtanium over the last few years. I'm in my early 20s in the UK, so it's hard to admit that I'll probably never afford one of these cars if price trends continue, and as they start to rust back into the earth. It's over-said, but 2005+ cars just don't have the same character, looks, and simplicity of maintenance that late-80s and 90s cars do. Also, was shocked by your low subscriber count. We need more enthusiastic and positive people in this community like you - great video.
You can find some gems here if you did really deep. Some nice JDM FFs can be found here cheap, even if previously imported. Just the insurance and potential for rust and other reliability issues really.
Don’t you guys have some cool cars, some even from Japan, though? Y’all have the Civic Type R (EP3, FD2, FN2, FK2), Mitsubishi FTO, Accord Type R, Evos, , Skylines, etc.
I’m obsessed with 997s and I really want to upgrade to one at some point soon. Love 996s too of course, just think I need something newer later model years. How do you like your 996?
@@Ian-yt It's definitely my favorite car I've driven, controverscially. It's on some upgraded suspension and weight is down to like 2700, and I'm at 183k miles. It can be a huge pain and money pit, but I love it. 997 definitely feels way more modern, but all 911's are so good it's down to preference IMO. Cheers!
It’s almost always best to buy the car that’s in the best condition you can afford, even if you overpay. It’s usually cheaper and more fun to buy something already nice than a fixer upper.
just got into cars recently. awesome vid dude just looked at ur page and its cool to see that your new and so well spoken behind the camera. looking at getting a lan evo soon (currently have an altima) i really like the 4s and 9s. was wondering your input on the decision. dope vid bro!
That means so much thanks for the kind words my guy. Yeah of course I love the evos. To me the Evo X is kinda the masterpiece of that whole lineage just because it retained so much that the earlier models had while being produced in big numbers with tons of aftermarket support and easy bolt ons. Most of the same can be said for 9s of course. My track bud has the X and I am biased bc it’s absolutely insane with bolt ons and tune with larger turbo. 9s do steal the show with how raw they drive and how clean they look. 4s still have that 90s beauty but lack some of what the later gens have to offer imo. Also the pricing between these is crazy, I would figure out what you can afford and buy the most recent model year of the generation you like the most for your needs.
I am 20 years old and own a 944 turbo that has been in 2 fatal crashes before and it makes me hate everyone and everything, i have no money to buy food other than ramen noodles in some cases just because of this thing. You speak nothing but the truth.

funny enough, I've got a 2008 corolla that is an absolute money pit, and a 92 Miata needing only a single repair. Sometimes you get lucky/unlucky. Think ima get a brz soon though, "I can daily that forsure..." Haha.
Got my car about 10 or 9 months ago. My mother basically prevented me getting any conventional sports car (mustangs, porsche, etc...), cars that are old (aka 90's or before), manuals (because she didnt want me to rollback into traffic... we're in a relatively flat area of texas), convertibles, and it either has to be American or Korean (though i did convince her for a Fiat/Abarth 500, if i found one that i liked). So i was stuck with cars that are not known as sports cars to her, or a sporty trim of a car. I almost got a Kia Forte5 SX, 3000lb auto FWD car with 201 HP with a 4 cylinder turbo. Nice car. Looked at alot of cars, particularly Korean ones. Optima's, Forte's, Veloster's, Tiburon's, Genesis Coupe/Sedan. Some American cars like Cobalt SS, Caliber SRT, Taurus SHO etc... One day i found a lil yellow Cobalt SS. Decent price. So we got it. Its a N/A 2.4L, 07, and with a Auto. Definitely aint the fastest, especially with first gear going to 40-60 something. But i love it, good handling, still running, though it does have two issues, fuel tank leak whens its over 7 or 8 gallons, and idles rough (Probably lean from a vacuum leak). I've been trying fix the tank, but may have to get a new one, and i need to confirm if i do have a leak. Once i fix that, and once i get enough money, supercharge it. I've been to a couple of local car meets, and been to a race, and even raced my car with North Texas Rallycross. Good people with them. Even though i may not have the coolest or fastest car, but still we talked about eachothers cars.
I was obsessed with cars from an early age, all through my twenties. My passion has been massively knocked due to the car bubble. I have a very comfortable household income, which fortunately allows me to have a daily driver that i would have loved as a kid. However, my income should allow me to have a weekend car that would be modified to a power level that would excite me. I have no chance. All the cars i loved as a kid are stupid money and anything that would be good enough at a lower price point, once you Factor in modification cost, is eyewatering. Modifying my daily is a no go, as to sleep at night i have to have a manufacturers warranty, as if anything went wrong, it would be thousands. Decent sized engine, auto box, 4wd ect, is nuts when things go wrong. I'm not going to lie, I'm pissed off. Six figure household with not a crazy mortgage and i have no chance 😂
I got into motorcycles, the definition of cheap thrills. Sure, it’s dangerous compared to being protected by the safety systems of a car, but oh so worth it.

Just remember you lose when you give up so stay focused and dreaming is the right path to manifesting what you want in life! God bless and hope you get a nice ride soon! 🙏
The first video I've seen from you, and I just have to say, don't stop! It's rare for me to come across people on UA-cam whom I find so charismatic and genuine. Thanks!

Hell yeah welcome in
I grew up a gearhead thanks to my father.
I still am holding onto my miata, but I had a car that went up in flames on first day of ownership so i dont count that as first car
Proud Polo 9n owner here and I love my little shitbox to bits. When I bought it she was in terrible conditions, with missing pieces and parts that desperately needed repair. Been slowly working on it and turning it into my idea of a little sports car (despite the fact that it has possibly the most dreaded engine of it's lineup: the 1.9 SDI, and engine swapping is not legal where I live.)
I am going to keep that car until the day it will die, and then I'll probably get another one with the 1.9 TDI!
Had a '97 M3, sold it at nearly 200k mi when I was about to have my first kid. Always thought I'd "just" buy another one ... well, now I'm in a place to do that and they're just so expensive. It's hard to justify spending that much money on a "toy."
We're in the era, where you need to keep your car running, in good condition, on the road, and in your possession at all costs - They are going away, so treat them well. Good luck out there!
👍
My dad was in the same situation with his Beamers. An E30 and two E36s. The E30 was stolen, the first E36's engine disintegrated, and his last E36 was sold in exchange for a Ford (which he also misses)
edit: the first E36 was actually an E30
I jumped into a classic car on day one of passing my driving test and loved every minute of it. I went from knowing nothing to doing head gasket changes, brakes, water pump changes, interior restoration, all that. You must understand that a car is not a thing to be worshipped. It is a machine, an appliance like the ones you use at home every day. The car has no personality and no life, but the memories you make with it, those are real. The car must serve you first of all. You should not live in its service. Do not buy a car that does not serve your needs.
its so ironically true, we spend a lot of our lives owning things that own us.

Fellow black 1995 e36 m3 with cooked paint owner here, keep up these videos it's a nice commentary style! If you need to figure out the horn with a quick release I'll be hopefully doing mine before I go back to school in a few days. If you're trying to fix it with the stock wheel............ gl
Thats awesome yeah please update me, reply to the comments or something I need to know!
Same spec, including cooked paint but it’s a slicktop so it’s g
I also own an E36 M3, '99 Dakar yellow. She's the most beautiful car i've ever seen and will never regret it.
That E36 looks hella clean. No rust, paint looks like it’s in good shape. Nice!
I think some should avoid buying old cars if they're not mechanically inclined or don't have friends or family who are.

I wanted an e36 m3 as my first car. Fast forward 2-3 years I ended up with a s550 Mustang GT LOL. Love your personality, love your advice keep up the great work man!
As the owner of a performance modefied GE8, aint no way I'm stopping being an enthusiast
Hell yeah
Love it, great channel - nice review.
Thank you for the kind words!
I dont think so, quite opposite actually. Enthusiasts car will be more expensive since new cars are going to be electric and soulless.
@@Sphyn0x Mostly just describing right now, not future years. Prices have been crazy since Covid - and are now falling.
This might be true for some cars, but the demand for analog sports cars will only rise as more of them are lost to accidents, rust, and mileage.
That’s so sick, thatll be an experience you’ll have with you forever. Hope it goes well with future plans!
Hope it goes well for you too!
this video hits home lol, i got a 280z when i was 16 and quickly found myself in uncharted waters lol. the car community and trends have evolved so much over the years, but real enthusiasts dont change. im almost 30 now and still feel as young as when i started.
hell yeah 280z were sick with the t tops too
@@Ian-yt the one before the t tops lols
Happy 2024.
thank you so much man! the support means a lot
Love how tea you are, keep this up you’ll definetely develop a following
the 36 looks so so good. Congrats
Lovely car xx love the rare 4 door ones even better
Bad things are just gate keeping and people telling you what to do/feel about your car.
My advices are:
My best advice to a car enthusiast (unless you are rich) is to get into bikes. Could be mini bikes, sports bikes, electric bikes anything
From one expensive hobby to another lol
I bought my first miata early last year. Never thought I'd love this car this much or find out how big the miata community is like you were saying. Good vid bro.

I've seen massive squads of them on carspotting videos from my area.
Bro the video quality is insane! Keep it up the video was entertaining
Thank you!
an e36 is basically the best car enthusiast's first car right now. But they are so rare to find not abused, or low miles, and reasonably priced
Not in Ireland
Thats why you get a p80/p2 volvo, way easier to find one not beat to shit. I know ones rwd the other is fwd/awd but the tuning potentials are the similar
Nah, best bet is a cheap, unpopular $h!tbox that no-one wants except for a certain few that includes you.
I really like your style of videos. Good stuff bro
Thank you I really appreciate it
yes! just bought my first Porsche ('87 944S). Money pit?
Safe to say I am definitely going to be a BMW guy for life, no matter how many problems I run into 😂
You’ve gained a new follower hope to see you grow on this platform.
Thank you I appreciate it!!
Nice to see a fellow MA enthusiast. I feel the same sadly now with wanting to do more to my f80. Just upkeep mostly now after doing the pure turbos
Thank you for not saying car guys are so freaking annoying when girls like cars too. We may be few but we are there. We/I have also noticed that females in the scene cause less drama & less hate then the males. People have forgotten what being a car enthusiast is about.
Damn! I was expecting a way higher subscriber count. Keep going!
Love this video bro. Quality dummy fire too. Keep it up man!
Thanks! Will do!
This is a rediculously good video never mind first video. May the algo shine upon you.
My first car being a 2012 camaro ss best car i could ask for. Surprisingly didnt crash it lol.
got a 99 camaro in 2017 for 2700 still have it I got a 2012 c300 last march its been perfectly reliable and awesome vehicle for the $
Great video!
I settled for an E30 318i as my first, it runs well but needs some paint detailing.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
How does this guy not have 500k subs yet?!
Hell yeah lmao
If I had saw this video 3 years ago I would totally desagree with you, now I totally agree with you kkkkkkkkkkkk
i resonate with every part of this vido man. we're about the same age group, and it sounds like we have a lot of the same experiences being a part of the car culture. including the first car 💀

i would be concerned at that missing locknut on ur rear left wheel bro
Oh damn you’re right
My first car is my 2006 Ford Ranger I love that truck and it currently has 326000 miles on it and I'm never getting rid of it. I do plan to lower it soon. I do want some old soviet cars like a lada or GAZ.
Still own my 06 ls430, 02 Honda s2k and 02 bmw e46m3. They definitely don’t make cars like they used to. Cheers buddy! I dig your e36 M
Amazing video, simple straight forward and great points
Thank you!
441 SUBS!? The quality of this video looks professional, as if this is an established motoring magazine's channel or something. Well done.
As someone who's looking to buy a house, I need to stop myself from pulling the trigger on a miata or brz as a weekend car lol
If it makes you happy....there is nothing to question then
When I turned a almost a year ago 19 I bought a 91 crx as my first project car and I’m nearly done with it 👍🏾
Wow i just found a Reality good channel i hope i hear a lot from in the future :D finally UA-cam recommendations got my taste ^^
I got an 02 Audi B5 S4 and man sometimes it doesn’t feel worth it with the price of parts and labor. Like jesus man
Dude it adds up quick especially when you can afford it in the beginning of ownership haha
i used to have an extremely clean 1986 chevrolet el camino, kept it stock but then it caught on fire mid 2022 and i just gave up on cars. also car meets in my area started becoming controversial and trashy. for now, i picked up cycling as a hobby and it is nice to stay in shape while doing something i enjoy
in the future, once i get a more stable job i do plan on buying a project car.

I wish I could remove coilovers and put torsion bars on instead.
Hell yeah I’m living the same over here. Thank you for the kind words!!
@dillo2916 yeah, the importing is easier than most other countries bc they're all right-hand drive
I got into motorcycles. Ninja 250R has me smiling ear to ear. I can live with a crossover now and just beat it to hell.
Very real video, man. I’ve had a 996 since 17, and even tho it keeps me poor, I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything!
I’m obsessed with 997s and I really want to upgrade to one at some point soon. Love 996s too of course, just think I need something newer later model years. How do you like your 996?
the best looking and most underrated Porsche imo
@@Ian-yt It's definitely my favorite car I've driven, controverscially. It's on some upgraded suspension and weight is down to like 2700, and I'm at 183k miles. I got a 1998 Z3M Roadstee Estoril Blue with US S52 motor. Its my daily, best car i have ever owned. Go kart pocket rocket!
Oh man I was going to buy a 944 when I was 18 and I’m so glad I didn’t. Two years later I bought a 928s that caught on fire first day of owning the car hahaha so I am planning on staying away from front engine Porsches and their problems

I bought a R32 GTR with a blown headgasket as my first project car in 2022. Have no more money.
funny enough, I've got a 2008 corolla that is an absolute money pit, and a 92 Miata needing only a single repair. Sometimes you get lucky/unlucky. Think ima get a brz soon though, "I can daily that forsure..." Haha.
2008 is one of the worst years for the Corolla if I remember correctly.
Wish the “average car enthusiast” in 2024 could just enjoy what they drive without putting every tiny aspect into retrospect
Sure, it’s dangerous compared to being protected by the safety systems of a car, but oh so worth it.
in all honesty Ian you have really good camera presence, you have 4 videos up and they all are well edited, shot, and you just seem comfortable overall. you should start making shorts and seeing how much attention that brings to the channel. im sure theres plenty of people who would probably donate to help you build out the E36, or just try and get some monetization up from ads. really enjoy the content you've posted, I think if you posted consistently you'd build a really solid following, we need a good Boston car UA-camr. love the vids bro
Thanks my guy I really appreciate the kind words. I'm not trying to post a video until I have 4 or 5 finished off so I can have some consistent weekly uploads. Don't worry Im half way there so they should start coming soon. Yeah monetizing hopefully comes soon as I am in 4th month of being unemployed while paying boston rent haha. Really do appreciate the kind words, i'm hoping to arrange some boston drive or outing scheduled cars and coffee this spring/summer!
@@Ian-yt A man with a plan, I hope this all takes off for you. That Boston drive sounds like a great idea, keep that updated on your channel it'll probably have good turn out. I live in Jamaica plain by the arbs, looking to get into an e46 or an e36 sometime soon. if you ever need a hand working on something yourself let me know id love to help out. On a side note that angle of you driving is a great camera angle, you should take small driving videos like that and just kind of upload day in the life style videos on UA-cam shorts etc. 'day in the life of owning an e36 in Boston', not much content out like that. hopefully the algorithm favors you. looking forward to your next videos, and hopefully the car settles out lol, the highs and lows of owning an old BMW, nothing like it. I'm 22, as far as the unemployment thing, id understand if you'd be opposed to it, but it wouldnt be a terrible idea to hop on Uber Eats. I was doing it for a while and was getting like $25-45 a trip. if you add that with E36 content, im sure the channel will skyrocket. whether its shorts or videos, titles like "doing Uber Eats in my E36" etc. Just a easy way of killing two birds with one stone, but id understand if youre opposed mileage wise. best advice I can give for gas is going to Costco in dedham, worth the subscription, Premium is like 3.64 or something. Best of luck man
