“Falling asleep and staying asleep are two different art forms”. Well said my Dear.
As someone who can't sleep this is very funny that the fact people with no sleep problems probably make these products😂
Right the only one that I would like would be the plushie it would stop me from waking up my 4 pound dog and trying to sleep with her every night 😅
Me watching this at 4:08 am from Australia 😂 I always fall asleep watching Jackie, she’s my safe place 🥹
I kept coming back to finish the video several times because I keep falling asleep.😅
The heartbeat is probably"from the inside" as it is used for babies it simulates what they hear inside the womb. My daughter had one at birth. The nurses loved bringing her into the nursery because all the babies would sleep. So that one is very great for babies
in the amazon description it actually said 'womb's heartbeat' so you are correct! it's 100% why they are so popular for babies, my best friend uses one for her little one!! it's definitely a different but comforting sound *they* recognise, while we don't remember anymore.
they're good for dementia/alzheimer's patients too! many people with dementia revert to a time that they had to care for a baby, so sometimes they're given baby dolls to "take care" of. I remember when my mom worked at a dementia care unit and they ordered the breathing ones for patients all the time.
Heartbeats freak me out, personally, but I know they're good for babies!
As someone who struggles of fear of sleeping, what helps me is having a very low volume video playing to listen to it while hugging a plushie close to keep me company
Same I have a dog I have had since I was a baby and I still sleep with it
This is me, just add the pillow between the legs to keep hips leveled lol.
For the puppy light, I’d use the bird noise for waking up. Like, right when I wake up, switch it to bird mode, and it’ll help get me out of bed. I not only have issues falling asleep, but I also find it extremely difficult to get up. If it came with a remote, it’d be perfect!
I also have issues getting up out of bed! I literally will sleep away my whole morning and afternoon
@@simplybeezknees same, sometimes at least lol. I kept hitting the snooze button this morning - told myself I'd meditate for a few minutes but it was lies. I just went back to sleep again 😂
Have you ever watched the ambient sleep videos? I've been a lifelong insomniac and they work for me. I like the ones with mild movement and rain noises like "camping in the rain" or "rain in a tent" they work well when I remember to use them
my favourite ones are rain under an umbrella, raining while driving, steel roof rain and thunderstorms. Once in a while I find a bonfire one that doesn't sound obnoxious. I've recently found a channel that does story reading in a calm way that helps too.
I literally fell asleep while watching this and had to rewatch it. XD
I do often fall asleep while watching UA-cam when I get home from work. It's usually only 15-20 minutes, but I do feel pretty refreshed when I wake up.
I think the rain one would make me feel like I had to go to the bathroom!! 😅 The weighted stuffie and the nebula sound amazing! 🌌 We already use lots of light, sleep sounds, and weighted blankets with our daughters.
I love using that and ocean.. but I tend to wake up more often going to the bathroom 😅
I’m so glad for this video to come out. I needed this I have had such a horrible week at work and needed this to help me feel better. Thank you so much Jackie you are such a wonderful person and make days so much better
I'm sorry you had such a rubbish week, make sure you do something nice for yourself ❤
@ellie5461 thank you. I work in education and I'm told I'm too "gruff" with the kids. My team reported me to administration with lies
My dad is a chronic insomniac. My mother (tired of neither of us sleeping) taught us to imagine we are drawing the numbers 1 to 50 on a blackboard and then writing ‘deep sleep’ on the blackboard 1 by 1.
Omg this is so relatable as an insomniac myself. My best sleep tip is playing a repetitive sound, like a clock ticking, raindrops etc. For me train sounds work the best.
My best sleep aids have been sighthounds. Whippet puppies led to many involuntary naps. I would lay next to them, just to cuddle for a minute, and wake up two hours later, drooling on myself. Very best was my Italian greyhound. He knew when I was frustrated and couldn’t sleep and would generously volunteer to be my fidget toy. He would spoon perfectly and I would tart massaging his muzzle and slowly work my way down. By the time I got to his shoulders, we’d both be relaxed and sleepy.
Jackie with this fox plushie is so unbelievably adorable, a match made in heaven. 🥰😄
In your "Figure it Out" kit, I keep misreading the label on the sticker packs as "Merde Picnic" instead of "Nerde Picnic". 😂
Honestly my best "sleep hacks" I've recently learned that I can't fall asleep without my air conditioner so my room will be freezing but the noise from the air conditioner is always nice. I always have videos playing on my TV. Plushies love holding them and then usually my cat because he's a good heating source 😂❤
I have to sleep with my fan on because my body literally heats up while I'm sleeping, which causes me to wake up. If the coldness of your room is bothering you, then maybe see if anyone's made a video of air-conditioning sounds
Did anyone else fall asleep watching this video? As for most, it's never out of boredom, but I was relaxing from a long day and while watching this I snoozed away in my computer chair. But I did return back and watched what I missed after my nap, lol.
I suffer from insomnia. I enjoyed watching you test these products. You gave me insight on what I should buy and what not to waste my money on. I could 100% use a weighted plushie. Thank you Jackie. I always enjoy your videos.
Thanks! I found your page when I was going through a pretty bad depression spiral and watching you everyday was the only thing I looked forward to. Thank you for being you and always making me laugh! I never do this but felt I needed to share. 💚
Omg thank you so much. I truly appreciate you. I’m sorry you were going through a tough time. Sending you hugs and positive vibes your way ❤️❤️
My top tips are
1)drink Rooibos tea with 1tsp brown sugar(orginal flavour, if I don't drink it, sleep is very shallow.
2) Sleep mantras (just repeat sentences)& 10 ten things & people I'm greatful
3)Have a Feeling/Stress journal, sometimes if you have intrusive thoughts or negative feelings/thoughts write them down, so you let them out.
4) meditation, like headspace/Mindfulness
5) the military sleep method.
Bonus 6) sleep mask & earplugs
Hope you try some of these.☺️👍🏼
I have the Bluetooth sleep mask and it helps a ton. If you're having trouble with weird bumps in it, you can move around the speakers inside of the mask to align them better with your ears. Also, you really only need to adjust the Velcro once, so it won't always be a problem with hair. Just make sure to keep it charged, because it tells you it's low battery very loudly.
@RainyPupper I bought that Manta Bluetooth mask for my wife last Christmas, she has slept the hardest she ever has. Jackie needs to give Manta Sleep a shot. It seems to be made better than what she has in the video.
The best sleep tip that I've heard from fellow Autistics, is don't be ashamed if you still sleep with stuffed animals. Because we usually get shamed for still having kid needs and if stuffed animals provide the tactile input that you need, it shouldn't be a problem if you get tactile input from stuffed animals.
It's so weird how what helps Jackie fall asleep are things that stress me out (breathing, heartbeat) and birds or jungle sounds are extremely soothing to me 😂
I find that just slowing my breathing and relaxing all my muscles manually helps me fall asleep! Of course there are days where this doesn’t work because my mind starts hopping from one topic to another to think about. I also have extra help with melatonin but before I had it this trick was my one savior for sleepless nights! Staying asleep is a whole other problem though
At 17:00 that is actually pretty accurate. I was binge watching your videos and then I fell asleep, thank you for helping me fall asleep, I needed the sleep! 😊
Weighted blankets 10/10. I can be a pretty restless sleeper and move around a lot, but a weighted blanket has really helped with that. Keeps me still and the pressure helps me calm down. That plus a body pillow is a must for me now. I sleep on my side and usually hug a body pillow and have one leg tossed over it, the position feels the best for me.
I usually put on a video from UA-cam and listen to someone talk. My aunt used to have a radio on when she sleeps, but I prefer to have a video that will last for a certain time before closing. I've been looking for a good white noise machine, but usually the ones with speakers just sound bad. When it's summer I usually keep the fan on and easily fall asleep to that sound, so been looking for a little noise machine with an actual fan inside of it making the sound.
stumbled upon you via this video and im in love omg
Oh my! I've had insomnia since I was a child. I got it, like my migraines, from my father. At 70 and not working, and taking considerable medications, I actually fall asleep now better than I used to. Another thing I've learned, is when I lay down, I think of my stories. I have been 'working' on a story every night for about 6 months. I have written maybe 40 works or so, maybe a few more. I many never actually write the story, but this gives my mind something that isn't stressful. I have fibromyalgia, so a lot of the medications I take are for pain, but without the visualizing a story, like watching a movie I direct, my brain doesn't calm down. I prefer ocean sounds to help me sleep, but I've not had any for the last year or so and I've been fine.
You inspire me! Also, it bit in awe. Damn girl! Absolutely relate. After fighting caner, and still meds, sleep is luxury. Wishing I had stories. Maybe think about sharing yours I'd be interested. ~ Best to you.
@@eileennovak1656 I have some stories on Archive Of Our Own under the name ElicBxn. It is not my real name... some of the stories I have posted have started from the 'sleep stories.' I have a Star Trek story that actually came from a dream.
I get too into my stories and imaginary worlds. It helps me not think about stressful things but it also keeps my mind too active. I really should go back to drinking catnip tea. While it hypes up cats it sedates the neurological system in humans and also calm digestive upset. It works pretty good. But you have to have the water you pour over the bag at full boil. Then cover the cup with a saucer and let seep 7 to 12 minutes. Instructions come on the box. I should order some and start using it again. Unfortunately my cat loves to pester me all night long so falling asleep and staying asleep is a problem.
@@tiffanymichaels2429 Just one cat? Okay, so I don't let the cats sleep with me anymore, I don't like them tromping over my keyboard. However, I have 8 of them inside and I'm feeding another half dozen outside in the feral colony.
I'm almost always watching your videos during the wee hours of the morning because i cannot sleep. I find them comforting in a way.
Thank you for choosing this topic to do a video on. I suffer from insomnia (like you, I have trouble falling asleep AND staying asleep) and have wanted to try some products to help but have been too intimidated by just how many are out there. Please, I would love a part 2 of this video, if possible.
Hopefully some of your new items will help add a few more 💤💤💤 to your nights' rest. 😊
I have that eye mask and I love it. I have to have videos playing to fall asleep, so i like the headphone feature while being able to block out light. It also helps for napping during the day when Im not feeling well.
Me and my little watch your videos as a “last screen time” before she goes to bed and you always help her rest easy! Proud Canadiagrains! 💜
Bird sound fanatic here: Birds actually make me feel relaxed! Which helps me sleep. It's not so much 'what you hear when you wake up' as 'what makes you feel relaxed and safe', and it's easy to like.. think of birds and think of safety and no harm coming to you. It's actually very comforting!
17:00 yasss, I often have your videos playing in the background to fall asleep!
DREAM WATER WORKS‼️ I have chronic insomnia, and I can vouch for this, and I am an ER nurse.
Something that helps me fall asleep pretty fast is listening to thunderstorms. There's channels called Pure Sleeping Vibes and Pure Relaxing Vibes that always have multiple live videos that are ad free. I usually fall asleep within 5 minutes of listening to them.
Didn't know I needed this, but my goodness, thanks for testing these for fellow eternally sleepy grains
Night driving in rain videos help me sleep and bluey. I also love lavender to help me sleep! I also listen to your videos to help me sleep! Love your content!
It's midnight. I'm having trouble getting tired. I made hot tea and grabbed my blanket and snuggled in for this video. Sleepy jackie is so precious.
I love that cloud humidifier!
Hey Jackie. I type on youtube what i wanna listen ..usually its heavy rain with rolling thunder. You have rain on tin roof, on tents, or purring cat and they stream for 10-12 hours and most of them have blackscreen. I also have a whitenoise machine with diffent types of sound but more variety on yt❤❤
Ah so relaxing to watch your video
😌👍🌷💙🤍
(waving sharp pointy thing) "That is a compliment because you feel safe around me 🥰"
Sleeping is hard, I feel you Jackie
Also being a rare person getting the opposite effect from stuff is extemely relatable
It took me a long time to realize that it was the valerian root in the sleepy tea I was drinking to help me sleep that was making it even harder for me to sleep. Glad it's not just me. 😅
Ah, see no. My comment wasn't clear. It makes me bounce off the walls, just took me a while to figure it out. The tea I was drinking to make me sleepy was actually keeping me up even worse. Benedryl makes me hyper too.
I'm a night owl. Usually listening to something like Kitboga & playing a repetitive game where I'm not really have to think gets me sleepy. I know they say you shouldn't play on your phone before bed but it works for me. I find it hard to sleep with Jackie's video because I keep waking up & going back to see what I missed lol.
The Rosetta Egg seemed rather interesting, seems to fill a small room nicely with the projections. As for me, I sleep best with a fan running, even in Winter 🤣.
A fan is the best for falling asleep. The cool breeze and the white noise are perfect.
jacky ur videos are literally the only thing that helps me sleep you are my comfort youtuber
Not family friendly//
.
Well, that um, chill pill thing... I've heard that similar shaped objects can create a special excitement that can make you sleepy before bed. I have hypersomnia, so i can't say if this is true or not.
Such a strange object...
I was watching this last night and fell asleep while watching. 😂 Jackie is so calming and relaxing. ❤ Back this morning to actually watch!
You are my favourite creator!!
You’ve helped me fall asleep all the time and I really appreciate that as you’re videos help me to slow my mind down and feel comfortable and safe thankyou
Wow 😮 this is a new kind of video but I’m here for it
Splinter is adorable, being a person who’s allergic to cats I rarely ever see any in person. That just lightened my day ❤
As a sleep specialist (a RPSGT - Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) I perform sleep studies, treat, and diagnose sleep disorders ranging from narcolepsy to sleep apnea and much more. Sleep hygiene is very import. Going to bed at the same time and waking up at the same time. Staying off electronic devices. Fun fact.. your body is naturally suppose to sleep at night. After midnight your body goes into a fight or flight instinct because your body is wondering why you're awake when you should be asleep, this causes your body to think you're in danger and will actually want you to stay awake. Going to bed early is key. Also, sleeping on your left side you are more prone to nightmares due to putting pressure onto your heart as you lay. Not diagnosing but sometimes not sleeping at night is something more serious like sleep apnea and should be tested in a lab and properly diagnosed. (I say this at work right now performing those sleep studies 😄)
I can't sleep on my right side because I get horrible heartburn if I don't sleep on my left. Even if I don't eat hours before I go to bed. However, i am not prone to noghtmares.
Somehow this has become my 'cozy' channel, love just watching the unboxing and reviews. keep it up :D Sleep tip: Warm milk with honey mixed in, always good to soothe the mind after a chaotic day. At least for me it works.
I find it really hard to sleep. But your videos do help me relax a lot. 😊
Omg! For Christmas I got the diffuser from my mum. I personally love it and love that there is a timer for me to fall asleep to! The colours always soothe me and the rain is relaxing other (than it sometimes makes me need to pee 😅). I use all different essential oils for it and it’s never failed The only thing that didn’t work well was the mist/steam from the drips because of the border around the deoplets
I love your videos
Thank you so much for this video Jackie, this video helps so much!!
Camomila tea, apple and cinnamon tea, head massage, listening to mantras or songs for meditation, exercise during the day like there's no tomorrow ( I know you have some bad back problems, but swimming could help a lot)
Lol i watch ur videos when im in bed on my tabblad. And i fall asleep watching you. That is a compliment and i will thank you for alll your videos, i really do enjoy them!!
Jackie always says, "Get your mind out of the gutter," but 90% of the time, I have to stop & figure out what the innuendo is. I wouldn't have gone there if you hadn't led me to the gutter.😂😂😂
I’ve been wanting to try weighted blankets because I feel like they might help me fall asleep… But the weather in Singapore is too hot for blankets most of the year! Didn’t know weighted plushies are a thing, now I kinda want to try one!
This video is like so random and out of nowhere but I really enjoyed it! The rain mushroom thing is actually really cool imo. Makes for a nice little water feature decor. Not that I need more humidity in this already very humid local weather. But cute nonetheless!
my biggest tip is not using ANY electronic after 8pm and switching all my lightbulbs to smart ones so they automatically change to very warm, deep orange color. still have some issues with falling asleep but that helps
THANKS for making this video!! I’m definitely one who struggle with insomnia !! 😴 I really enjoy your videos!! 🇨🇦
So the breathing puppy works by making you hold your breath until you pass out while listening to toilet sounds. 🤔 I’ll try anything at this point.
Ilysm Jackie ur an amazing contant creater ❤❤❤❤ thx for making me happy when I needed it most
❤❤
I have a hard time falling asleep.
I am also a fellow insomniac.
However I use my Echo dot to play sleep sounds.
And let me tell you SLEEPJAR
is my favorite.
I usually do Distant Thunderstorms and within an hour I’m usually Zzzz 😊
Tbh I do have to put my phone far away and turn my room to Antarctica cold 🥶but that usually helps me.
I did enjoy this video though because I’ve always wondered about products. ❤
Thanks Jackie 😊
FIRST
Love you’re videos they always make me laugh and smile 😂
I always watch your videos before I go to bed because its relaxing ✨❤️
For the bunny I think it says baby on the box because it plays nursery rhymes and shushing sounds
As someone who couldn't sleep for 37 years... I started using Mr Teal's Foaming bubbles bath with lavender and melatonin (the PURPLE lable with the melatonin NOT the WHITE label without!!!!!) And my sleep have NEVER been better over the last year!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND you try!!! (MAYBE not on camera tho!!!! 🤣🤣🤣)
I also have a hard time with sleeping so I just put on one of your vids that I have already watch or maybe something new and I love you 😘❤️💕 and your video. I am now in my teens and I have been watching you since I was 7 you really made me get for creative and you inspire me. I really hope you keep up the great work 🎉 LOVE YOU ❤
Also I had to make a new account but I have been watching you for a long time
I have sleep problems and I use brown noise (it's like white noise but a deeper octave) and sometimes I have chamomile tea and that has been better than any sleep medication I've ever been on
I love listening to white noise and rain sounds, when I have trouble falling asleep 😴
Dream water is my go to! I've had insomnia for as long as I can remember. I used benadryl, or tried, but it did the opposite of making me sleep. I found this one day and never looked back. I've never felt groggy or like it was habit forming. It's a great product for me.
My sleeping tips; watching your videos.
Im not kidding, for some reason, when I cant sleep I watch your vids and fall asleep much easier.
And no, u are not boring, but for some reaxon soothing for me.
Ive been doing this for years 😂😅😅
The first one reminds me of a product my older brother has that plays a fire crackle of a fire place with a little light. I don't know what it is called but it has volume control and stuff. The light can change color between blue, red, and stuff. It is made for babies to help them sleep especially when it is too quiet. He got it for his son at some point.
I have had insomnia since I was 14, too. I have started to meditate now, and it seems to help. I get comfy, and I put on guided meditation.
I really enjoy those kind of reviews (more than the mini food craft thingies)
Whats funny is...yeah, I have fallen asleep to your videos a lot. And tbh it almost annoys me sometimes because I have to go back and watch what I missed. 🤣🤣
I’ve always been a night owl, but I find that just not starting anything new (books, videos, games, etc.) late at night seems to work best for me!
This is so ironic, I usually fall asleep to your videos because they're very comforting to me. Love the video as always. This grain is going years strong 💪
The heavy plushie is definitely the only product in this review I'm tempted by!
I have seen ads for headbands that act the same as the sleepmask and have been tempted to try them out as I prefer listening with headphones and have found I fall asleep more easily if I listen to an audiobook or podcast while falling asleep. However, the reason I've ever tried them out is because I was suspicious of the tech inside the headbands being lumpy so it would be uncomfortable to have my ear on the pillow while wearing it - which Jackie kinda confirmed with the sleep mask as I'm sure the headband works the same or very similarly to those.
I hope to one day find a sleeping charmander plush that is weighted and has that plush material usually advertised for "sensitive babies". That is my dream scenario! (That, or a soft headband with good sound quality where I can still comfortably have my ear on the pillow! But I honestly can't see how that's possible 😅)
0:50 ive found that taking a few minutes to take some deep breaths and tune into my body doing a body scan helps relax my body and makes sleep easier. I still struggle but it helps, so does rain sounds for me!
Weighted plushies are amazing! I have three! A dinosaur, a dragon and even a weighted plushie that gives hugs! It’s called a moonpal and it’s amazing! You should try it Jackie!
sleepytime tea, melatonin gummies, my weighted blanket and a good audiobook is my go-to to help me sleep.
The bird sounds can be helpful for those transitioning from night shift to day shift. I was night shift for many years, so birdsong is what I fell asleep to most days. It isn't needed for most people, but if you are trying to transition a baby's sleep pattern it an be super helpful too!
The dream water shot is amazing! I've used them several times. They aren't cheap per dose but they work very well. I have diagnosed insomnia and it's terrible. The dream water for the nights that I just can't sleep... it works so well. And it doesn't taste bad. Highly recommend.
this is perfect because it's currently 2:30 am and i always fall asleep to jackie's videos 😭
I always fall asleep watching Jackie all the time when I go to bed.
I bought the mushroom humidifier, but the cheapest one Amazon had at 19$ and it has a fake plant on the top, that I ripped out so I could plant a real plant in it.
It doesn’t sound like rain but it sounds like a fish tank and I love that. Mine works loud rain, soft rain, mist only on over flow or light mist, it does the multicolor thing as well, has a remote.
Definitely worth it.
I have a fox from the brand pillow fort that I got from target, he’s weighted and I literally cannot sleep without it I love it so much!!!
Every time I hear "figure it out" it reminds me of Sika 🥰 I love Jackie's videos 💕
This is my first comment for you! You are actually doing something similar to myself and mom! We are trying a couple of products to help me start my sleep and stay asleep! I have a weighted stuffed animal. I actually got a “friendship bear” from Warmies! You can freeze this stuffie or microwave it and use it as an ice pack or heat pack. I love hugging it and it smells like lavender with fresh French lavender inside with its weighted pellets! But back to my little experiment! I tried the ürelax by calming co. It makes you feel like you’re buzzed. Your body will feel like you’re buzzed and drank some alcohol but there is not alcohol in it! It has Kava in it so your tongue might feel kinda funny but the mix of mixed Berry tastes decent but you want to add orange slices or make it with sprite or 7up. You don’t feel drowsy when you wake up! I am also trying Dream by Beam! That one is like hot cocoa powder. It’s recommended to drink 30 minutes before bed! The urelax is also a drink mix! You need some citrus flavor to offset the sugary taste in the berry flavor. Ultimately I find it works decently. I’m actually really excited to try the Dream by Beam because I got the brownie batter flavor! If you try it, fellow UA-camr Annie Elise with her channel 10 to life. She actually advertises for them and they made her a special blend and she has a unique code for a certain amount off. You may want to try it out and see how it works for you a fellow insomniac!
I got a nemuriale (the gray kitten one). It simulates a heartbeat with sound and vibration. It runs for like 20 minutes and gets slower over time like the kitten is falling asleep.
When I got it like 3 years ago it took me between 2 and 3 hours to fall asleep and now it never takes me more than 40 minutes.
Only downside is that the plush is really small. One of my future craft projects is to get a bigger&heavier plush and sew a lil pocket for the nemuriale into it. Then it'd be perfect.
I get they bitd noises to help fall asleep. I use a phone app to help get to sleep. It plays a variety of these "white noise" sounds. I like to play birds and have the volume set very low. Then focusing my attention on hearing the birds helps me get to sleep.

As someone who has had chronic insomnia since birth, I feel ya, Jackie. I tried melatonin, but I kept having to up the dose in order to get any sleep and my doctor became worried about the high dose I was taking, so she put me on sleeping pills and those don't always even work sometimes. But they work MOST of the time, which is fine, I guess.
oh I keep on being advertised the Fisher-Price Soothe 'N Snuggle, even for adults. I was wondering if it was worth to try xxx
Some things that helped me is wearing an eye mask when going to sleep it will help ❤❤
