Hi I missed the deadline and now I want to apply, but what are the adequate reason to put in my application statement for me to get accepted. Please your advise will be much appreciated
The website is **extremely confusing**, At 11:03 is where all that confusion comes from, if you login there thinking you just need to "switch", you'll find yourself in something like a dead-end, because there's no "Apply to settled status" or "Switch to settled", nothing.. it just seems you can update your data and the evidences for the previous application. Also, they say you can easily prove your permanence in the UK with your NIN, but there's no obvious place where you can use it if you think you can update the old application, as I did (which is actually the only choice you have on that page). It's really frustrating.
I've managed to do it. You don't need to update the old application, when you're on the page shown at 11:03 you need to click on "Prove your identity" and go thought the whole process again. After that you'll end up on the same page you would be if you've clicked on "Sign in" but you'll have 2 applications there, the old one and the new one. Also in this video she says "you can also sign in". No, apparently you can't, it's not her fault it is misleading on the webpage.
What to do when I already proven my ID ? (Choose sign in) It is only shows me details of last application, There is no option like change status or contiune application
I've found this online: You need to make a new application and the process is similar to that for pre-Settled Status. The Home Office should already have an email and phone number for you (make sure you update these as soon as there is any change) from your previous application, but apart form that everything will need to be resubmitted. As before, you start with the App and then go to the online form. You may be asked to provide evidence of your continuous residence.
I have a question, at 3:15 it says "the 5 years are counted from the day you first arrived in the UK" I have been visiting family in UK since 2011 in 2016 I received my NI, however I only came here to live in 2020, does that mean they'll count it since 2011 or 2020? Technically I first arrived in the UK in 2011, the way they write things is confusing
2 роки тому
i think they will count it from 2011 cause they ask when did we arrive in the UK.
@ well I can't prove that, I only visited family, I got my NI in 2016 cause my father wanted me to just in case I would live here. In the future I will certainly be able to prove that I lived in the UK between 2020 and 2025 when I will have to apply for settled. I have a job and rent and I don't intend to leave. I wouldn't be able to prove anything since between 2011 and 2020, I was a child most of the time, didn't even have a bank account, and I only visited 3 to 5 months a year
U can't! It says u live in the UK 5 yrs in a row.U are not even qualified if u lived outside the UK for 6 months. What more if u lived outside UK for how many yrs.U need to provide and upload documents.
I contacted home office about it and it's ok. The fact that I haven't lived in the UK between 2016 and 2020 does not count. But as long as continue my residence, I will be able to apply in 2025. So basically continuous residence counts from the period I received my pre-settled in 2020. Since I will live in the UK between 2020 and 2025 I should be eligible for settled

This video is not helpful at all. Here is how i did it. Download EU Exit: ID document check and start the process again. Its ok if your change your document (passport or national id). Once you completed the application. It will notify you that you have been living in the UK for the past 5 years ( thanks to National insurance number) and can apply for settled status then you press confirm and apply for settled status. Its very easy - just complete the application again.
No. Submit your application a day after your 5 year residence anniversary. If you submit few weeks before you might be refused because the requirement for settled status is "5 years continuous residence".
Hi, I aplied for settled status as I have been in the UK for 5year but I accidently put some of my details wrong. Is there any way how to change it? As I am in EU with my British partner with my two years evidence. Or do we really need a solicitor to help us for this application?
Hi I have sent my new passport to Liverpool to update my Eu settlement as I have changed my nationality l, so do u know within how many days they will send my passport back?
I've applied before for pre- settled status and had my ID scanned and stuff before, do I just click sign or do I click prove identity and scan my ID/send it?

As we’re living separately since February 2023 without divorce, Do i need any documents of my wife to apply settle status?
whenever I login to the website and prove my identity I can see only my Recently submitted application(which has a prove requested information button), If you want to withdraw this application button or apply for something else that basicly logs you out and gets you back to first page if you try to opt to swich to settled status. There I can really see any other way to submit another for like it says in the information guide. Can you show us the way to do it after you login and see you submitted form, because it doesnt allow me to submit another one and i live in uk 6 years
Of course they would know....you are passing through a boarder and the uk gov works with the home office which has your uk boarder details...they will know anything to do with your criminal charges in the uk as well ...and any visa issues or time over it ,etc.....
