Ingredients
Milk-2Ltr
Lemon-6
Sugar-1 cup
Semolina-4tbsp
Clarified Butter-2tbsp
Cashew nuts-1/2 cup(chopped)
Cardamom Powder-2tsp
Cinnamon Powder-1tsp
1.Take milk in a large vessel. When the milk is boiling, add lemon juice.
2. After a few minutes, the milk will turn into chhena or cottage cheese. Use a sieve to drain the water. Chhena or cottage cheese is ready. This is a way to make chhena or cottage cheese at home.
3. Properly mash the chhena or cottage cheese with your hands or a spoon. Then, add sugar, semolina, and mash it again. After that, cover it and keep it for a few minutes.
4. After a few minutes, open the lid. Add cinnamon powder, cardamom powder, and clarified butter. Mix well.
5. Add chopped cashew nuts and mix all the ingredients.
6. Take a bowl, grease it with clarified butter or use butter paper. Pour the entire chhena or cottage cheese mixture into the bowl.
7. Heat the pan, pour sand into it, put a stand on it, place the bowl on the stand, and cover it. Cook on medium flame.
8. After 30 minutes, open the lid. Chhena Poda is ready. Use a toothpick or knife to check if it's done.
9. Cut and slice it, then serve to all. Enjoy this traditional and unique Odia sweet!
