I actually prefer the side panels on this 2nd gen. If you look at the 1st gen, the artwork is only on the lower half on the sides and the seam between the top and bottom sections is left exposed. The side panels cover the seam, and they allow for aftermarket panels which could be easily swapped out. The only downside is that they don’t lay perfectly flat.

Being a 40+ year vet in the arcade/computer world, let me point a few things out: 1) Putting the HDMI and USB (for the external systems) on the main control deck is beyond IDOTIC. It should have been put in the back where some sort of area should have been made (they have ALL that dead space inside of the stand, i put mine together as well) where a raspberry PI or other system could comfortably rest and attach to hanging down cables. Personally i believe they did it (on purpose) so the HDMI plug would fail and people would have to order new parts. 2) Their support is HORRIBLE. I bought 2 items, was "guaranteed" by one of their people, both would arrive in 3-8 business days after purchase. The LU made it on time. After that i had to get online and email them (for days on end) to get any kind of reply and they "waited" until the pinball unit had already shipped a few days to return the email and say, "Oh, it will be there in a couple of days". The pinball unit arrived via TWO different carriers at two different times. I consider myself lucky to have gotten anything at all and their design flaws can be spotted by the most ignorant of people they are so bad. They "sell" streaming time to you, which is beyond greedy. It's your system, why should you have to pay (again) to hook another system in. Their OTG is quirky (at BEST) and only seems to work well with "some" Raspberry Pi units. They allow other companies to advertise their items at the WRONG price and, when you call them out on it, they claim "Oh, that's a cell phone screen cap. It must be registering wrong on your cell phone". They so ignorant they can't tell the difference between a PC screen cap and a cell screen cap and it was from their AUTHORIZED (suggested) app "SHOP" that advertised the add-on pinball controller panel for $80. I can't say enough bad things about this company and their ONLY SINGLE REDEEMING QUALITY is they made a decent control deck. They're greedy, ignorant morons in every other aspect and they expect everyone to kiss their asses for making a control deck that's been on everyone's mind since the mid 1990s. That being said, they made it so proprietary that it's hard to connect the deck to other units directly to BYPASS their nonsense. Hell, i would PAY someone to create an interface that bypasses their whole system and could plug HDMI/USB 3+ into a PC and i could turn the system into a way better unit using Coin Ops Next 2. nuff said?
Nice review! Just got one and am having trouble connecting to our WiFi. Any suggestions. Recognizes the WiFi but continuously loading and never connects.
