LinkJTO When he gets arrested, he’s charged with breaking and entering Okumura headquarters and Madarame’s storage room. Also he’s charged with breaking the Radio Law when they hacked the TV network to make the calling card announcement to Shido. The funny thing is, Joker never actually did any of those things. Morgana and Haru broke into Okumura Headquarters, Ann and Morgana broke into Madarame’s room, and Futaba is the one who hacked the TV network.

I preferred the former Takemi because despite sounding mature she sounded oh so alluring, leaving the concept of age as a mystery and easily being mistaken as a mistress who had her moments being shy and all. And that's what's great about the two voices: both have their perks.
h t That, and her attitude she gives off, (even before the voice change), was, “do what you want. I don’t care”. And in my opinion, this new voice matches that attitude perfectly more than the old one did.

To be fair, a lot of the other people there were likely not adults, so arguments like "He's a good guy" wouldn't sway them much....but prod at their competitive nature? That would likely get them involved. Even more so that it was a kid pleading for their help likely also went a long way.

Iwai really is my fav confidant, he went back to the yakuza world to help the guy who helped him to face his past and tell the truth to Kaoru. But I really was waiting to hear “Make sure the guys in lock-up know not to let anyone lay a damn finger on him”.

@@Reapermaskhybrid Yeah. Despite losing her marbles in other routes, Edelgard is kind of like a child in hers, and the bonds among her allies leads to several changes and great interactions. As for Ren, he went out of his way to help these people and sacrificed everyone's happiness (including his own) to give the world a second chance, and he was thrown in the slammer to seal the gates as Minato did before him, albeit a much worse fate for the blue-haired child.
Amazing words from an amazing man, Stan Lee was an amazing man, he was one of Marvel's founders, he made clever cameos, and as we heard, is an inspirational man.

I know that a lot of the original lines were changed to be a better translation to the original Japanese, but I kinda miss Iwai's line of him ordering the other Yakuza guys to make sure Joker doesn't get hurt during his time in jail. Something about that forceful tone made it really feel like he's a dad.

Shinya and Mishima genuinely made me cry.
Shinya because he's just a child trying to help someone who is essentially his big brother.
And Mishima because joker was his only friend, and was the one who helped him grow so much as a person.

Not gonna lie, Shinya's made me laugh a little. Because everyone else is gathering together for support and will testify for Joker's innocence, meanwhile Shinya said, "Yo, check out this guy's high score. Wanna help him?"

Yeah. Mishima was stuck as Kamoshida's whipping boy till Ren came along, and thanks to him, Mishima was freed to help support the phantom thieves and live his life his way.
Shinya was stuck under the thumb of his mom till Ren came along and freed him, and Shinya began looking up to the kid who changed his life for the better.
There's me, dreading every confident interaction with Mishima as he goes from candy ass, to clingy, to full of himself before we set him straight.
Then there's Mishima, after everything and my general dislike of him, stooping so low as to genuinely begging on the streets for signatures to get me out of jail.

I liked mishima cause lowkey I saw myself in him so everytime he became a more annoying or worse person I couldnt help but help him get better

@@adnanhammedsadiq8665 That's true. The theme of P5R is "accepting reality and making the best of it", so him not being a Phantom Thief/Getting a Palace fits very well with the theme.
You should endeavour to fix your own life, bear with the reality of your experiences and move on with hope and happiness. Mishima becoming either would be more of what Maruki's trying to do.
I like that he was one of the few people whose Shadows didn't need fighting. He knew that what he was doing was wrong, but he was just so lonely and tired of being a nobody that he didn't care. You just have to teach him that just because you're not famous doesn't mean you're not making a difference.

@@Chicken-Ricethe way I see it they are useful with no real benefit but they narratively make sense because she's trying to solve a case while under the rader as well as extreme scrutiny
people saying Iwai's line change from being forceful/threatening to nearly begging is bad. I actually like it for the implication. Iwai is constantly cold-shoulder giving, burying his emotions and attachments. And here he is, after the ordeal you helped him through and reconnect with his son, begging his criminal contacts that he built a reputation with of being this cold hearted criminal and he can barely contain himself. He truly looks at the protagonist as a second son or close to it, and is willing to ruin his criminal reputation to make sure you're safe.

This is why Maruki is wrong. These struggles? These bonds? The basis for all of these things would be erased in his new world. The world might have been better, but it invalidates all the growth that these people came out the other side with. These people all care about their friend and are doing everything in their power to save him from a terrible situation, just like he did for them. Life is hard, but at the end of the day, if you have people to rely on and who can pick you up when you're at your lowest, you become a stronger person for it.
Yet despite that, I love Maruki. He genuinely wants the best for all of you, even if his idea wasn’t the right one.

Well said. And I agree with the two other comments. Despite everything, Maruki was still a good person. Just misguided and desperate. And he’s sacrificed so much for his dream that I honestly didn’t want to take it away from him but there was no other way.
It is as seen with the tale of Anansi from Marvel: in the end the young trickster god saw the great things that could be accomplished with the power of good friendships.

This are the moments I love the most in videogames, when all the allies you made come to support you after investing so much care in them and using your own real time to help them grow into even better characters makes you feel like it was worth every single second. Watching this again, always puts a big smile on my face.

Ohya didn't find the woman of the incident. She was getting testimonies of the people around the neighborhood. The ones who find the woman were the Phantom Thieves
still, ohya went to his hometown and practically got “testimonies” from residents of the area, thus proving ren’s innocence.
Ohya finally being useful after days of grinding her fucking support.
Ohya has a great story for her confidant, its too bad that the bonuses you get for doing it are useless. i mean has anyone accidentally been discovered enough for the security level to over like 30?
This brought a tear to my eye. All of the people you've befriended and helped sticking by you and proving your innocence against the unjust society...

Iwai contacting his old Yakuza pals to ensure Joker stays safe in Juvie is great, but I like how Sumire’s coach pitches in to help out despite that she barely knows Joker, but understands how important he is to Sumire and the absolute positive improvement he’s had on her as her friend/boyfriend. That’s so sweet.

Yeah, even though I got only 3 of them on my first Playthrough, yes, I know, I’m trash, but in my defense, I completed like, 5 phantom theives
@@goatman1183 Shame on you. When I first played the original Persona 5 game, I realized that near the end it didn't feel right to complete the game without getting the max confident. So I replayed the game three times to finally get that max. Yeah that's how dedicated I was.

Wow, Joker has influenced so many people and helped them with their issues with society. And they're fighting for him as a sign of their gratitude towards him. That's always great to see with them.
Sean Chiplock, the VA for Mishima, said that it was the hardest character to emulate out of, because he insinuated that as he was recording, he felt like he found a piece of himself within Mishima and it made Sean deeply reflect himself. I know it doesn't sound like I'm making a lot of sense, but he really did say something like that.

Makoto mentioned Shiho in her dialogue, so it must be Ann talked to her.

This scenes always touched my heart. When we first meet akira, he has no one. Everyone blames him for a crime he didn’t commited, all seeing him as nothing but a criminal and he thinking that he’s life has ended and he would be lonely for the rest of his life, with only us the player knowing the truth and feeling bad for him. However, over the course of the game, we meet this awesome people who has suffered just or even more than him, helping them trough there own personal problems and struggles and changing them into better people. When I see this scene, I smile, knowing that I did a great job helping these people and seeing how now they return the favor by helping him is just heartwarming. Akira starts as a lonely boy who everyone looks down upon by something he didn’t do, to someone surrounded of great friends who care for him and would do anything for him. I know is just a game, and I shouldn’t feel this way, but I can’t help but feel so happy seeing this. Such is the magic of the Persona series, it just make you feel wanna go outside and live.

*NGL though - the support Sumire's given reminds me of the support that my PE teacher (Gym and sport were all together - REALLY couldn't get the hang of the former) gave ME in my time at school

Arguably out of all side confidants aside from Yoshida, she was the most useful here as she went out of her way to go to the protagonist's hometown to investigate the assault charge incident.

Replaying the game made me imagine of some various reasons why the other PT members didn't appear here.
Futaba is getting some evidence regarding the police brutality done through Joker.
Yusuke is gathering the other surviving pupils of Madarame and arguing that if Joker didn't do what he had to do, many more children will become prey to Madarame.
Ryuji is probably assisting everyone by doing leg work
Haru's case is the only one that I'm having a hard time imagining since her position is too delicate to openly assist Joker

@@blackbulls8783 Makoto acts as their control tower, sorting the gathered info, looking for anything that can help Joker and she also gives and shares info for Sae
As for Ann, she probably used her connections and managed to find the woman's name. The one Joker tried to save before the game

@@blackbulls8783 Makoto is likely co-ordinating the efforts, and I'm pretty sure the one she's talking to in the first part is Ann, so it sounds like Ann was the one to get the name.
As for OP mentioning Haru... Haru is probably funding the efforts. I dunno if they would really need that much in the way of funds, but Haru would be able to have that covered.

This is why Hifumi is best waifu. No regrets choosing her. Her Christmas, Valentines, and White Day events were great and strongly suggests she wants to be together forever.

Persona 5 has to be my favorite in the series. I've seen these on my own but this video still made me tear up a bit. It has the kind of writing where little bits and pieces of time you spend actually amount to something in the end.
this is the sequence i like to point to when im talking to someone who prefers 4 or 3. both are billiant games in there own right but none of them have this kind of scene--the social links outside of the party often get forgotten since they both don't provide the different gameplay experience, and they never resolve like this. The end of P4G for example doesnt have a sequence where the students you've befriended actually make a difference. in some ways, thats part of the story, Yu never gets arrested and inspired those around him to speak up, but still, the fact that you get to see all these people who you've impacted in major ways step up to the plate and fight FOR you is a really powerful moment that emphasizes one of the central themes to the whole series, the power of friendship.
When Mishima said that Best Friend thing I actually cried.
That was just unexpected and it really hit.
I kind of saw it coming, after all he went through...
He gets to be a part of something bigger, gets to see how important he is, and when he lets it get to his head, you don't fight his shadow, you just talk it down and mull things over.
He may not be well-liked by others, but he is aware Joker and his friends does a lot of stuff nobody else can, and despise all that he helped him.
But him saying it out loud, trying his hardest to win over signature was what triggered the waterfalls.
@@Sephiroth08150Yeah. If you think about it, Mishima’s life improved greatly thanks to your actions. He was stuck as Kamoshida’s whipping boy/messenger to people he wanted to hit, and once you take down Kamoshida, he’s free to be the person he wants to be. He even returns the favor in some confidant paths, like Futaba’s.

Iwai and Mishima were my favorites it was so sweet how Iwai cares that much about him and Mishima going out of his way.

It's called they looking and gathering info to find the lady from like what the 3rd cutscene in the game (the one that is said to be your crime or something like that [you know the one with him protecting a lady from shido]) so coarse they wouldn't be shown it'd make no sense since she hasn't been mention in and major thing at all just in passing
Also Haru is only permitted a specific amount of screen time, they had enough buget to allow more but they wasted most of it on the main story for Royal, so she isn't permitted anymore

You know, Ohya's confidant is worthless, but she's probably one of the most valuable confidants in getting Joker out of prison.
Maybe I'm overestimating the power of the press, but Ohya getting witness statements from Joker's hometown, doing the police's job for them, and making her findings public in the news? Yeah, that would stir more of the general public against the courts for their hasty conviction and light a fire to get the mistake corrected

Yoshida is my favorite of the confidants (outside of Hifumi, who is waifu, and Ryuji, who is best bro).
I didn't plan to max him out but it wasn't hard to do, so i snowballed it somehow to max level
like i know that this is already suppose to be a sappy scene and i don't want to make it more sappy but like this is the reason i love the persona series. yes the crazy god slaying fights and addictive combat are great but this in my oppion the greatest strength of persona. it always ties back to the people you meet, the real strength of a persona doesn't come from there might or wit but in the people they help and the people they change
imo, p5 is the only one that does this well. like I love P4 and if it weren't for P4, i wouldn't have played p5 like i did, but P4 lacks a lot of what makes p5 work so well--p4 in a general sense is way more light hearted to the point where the stakes never actually seem important, and the non-party related social links really do nothing for you. for example, you don't do the symphonic band social link because Ayane (i think is her name?) gives you a super powerful attack, or a new mechanic to use in dungeons, you do band (or Theater) because its a choice that any high schooler makes, where to channel their creative energies. P5 might suffer some because confidants do more for you (and that makes confidants like Ohya unbalanced, Ohya gives you useless bonuses to the gameplay) but its this sequence where you see the 'favor being returned' to you after spending time with them and helping them that sets P5 apart.

How there's often a nod of agreement from the other NPC's. They don't know you, but they see how much you matter to the social links, and agree its bullshit and they need to help.
The beauty in this game is the fact that all the so called “confidants” were broken people, they all were shattered by the shit they called reality, joker didn’t change reality, but gave them the option to change it themselves
i notice one thing in 5 n 4 that before both MC's came to their towns the NPCs there seem to live a boring lives but everything changed when Yu and Ren arived to their towns and helped everyone that they didnt know needed help but for Ren they did him dirty by making him a criminal for a crime he didnt do
