I am using LEGO bricks to attempt to recreate the boatem hole from season 8 of Hermitcraft, how did I do?

If he did do the back of this Lego build it would have 48x48 base plates in a frame of rail bricks. And be done in December of 2022

What I’ve learnt from this:
-Grey blocks are a scarcity
-Grian is married
-Grian’s minecraft skills translate to lego
What you learn when building with Legos, there are never enough gray bricks

This is the coolest thing ever! Imagine if you had minifigures of the boatem crew! I've seen people make those for stop motion videos.
The back is an accurate representation of what the inside of most professional builds look like
I like how there have been a lot of falls in the Boatem Hole, but the mayority of them have been unsurprisingly Scar.

Just for future reference the issue with bricks not being cubes is because a brick is five plates wide and 3 plates tall, if you wanted to retry you could always do something like that

The LEGO group should honestly collaborate with members from the Hermitcraft server and make them have their own sets, like Scars swagon and all of the surrounding wagons, the boatem gigabase, or just the big eye crew's coastal city. I think it would sell well since hermitcraft is widely known, as well as Minecraft and LEGO fans being very similar. Of course they would have to scale down the builds, but that wouldn't be a bad hing in my opinion. That just makes it more reasonable and affordable.

Building with Lego is perfect for Grian, as when making extra detailed models it's actually quite common practice to leave the backs unfinished. He's already fitting right in :)

That’s why lego Minecraft sets normally put tiles on top of bricks - it makes them more cube shaped
I like it how the lego group has been branching out and helping creators and themselves it's beneficial to both parties.

I mean most like Lego builds that big my AfoLs (adult fans of Lego) for displays and stuff are like that. It’s recommended for use, Duplo bricks are great for holding the weight of large mountains as well! And really easy to find lots of.

The different colors on the back remind me of how we usually use wool blocks for hidden redstone. I think it is very fitting. And the fact that the back isn't done is just a Grian thing

The biggest limitation is the price. If it were easier to get all the colored bricks we need in bulk, the door for creativity would be much more widely open. One small LEGO set is easily $40 with the larger ones being well over $100. This build is bigger than some of the large LEGO sets. Great build and would love to see more people do stuff like this.
So here’s a fun fact about LEGO if no one has said it already, a lot of professional LEGO master-builders (the ones who build the sculptures at their theme parks) use methods that Grian used in this video (e.g. using a variety of different colors for the interior because there is simply not enough of a single color, structural support, and a hollow interior). Overall, Grian did awesome job and was more true to LEGO than he perhaps realized!
Perhaps LEGO builders and Minecraft builders aren’t so different after all
