Crazy to think that you’re literally watching air molecules be heated to the point of incandescence. Like the literal air between the connectors is being heated glowing white hot by the electrical arc, and done so instantly. Electricity is a terrifying but awe inspiring thing

@@paradox9551 I think you could present it better than that. Electrons are not ripped out from the air. The electrons are still in the air. Those electrons released from the atoms are then free to conduct electricity. The light produced from the arc is a consequence of those excited electrons falling back down through the energy levels and the lost energy is converted into photons of electromagnetic radiation where the colour (which is the wavelength) is dependent upon the particular gas that has been excited. I want to climb up and claim all this power.
You can claim it, but I'm sure that you won't be able to use it in heaven.
You just need an insulated bucket to hold it in, just make sure it's rated at least 75kv.
UNLIMITED POWER!
Lol
Before it you need to claim for insturance
Voltage so high it immediately sends you to another dimension when touched
After I watched it we lost power.

The amount of voltage it takes for an arc to travel that far is insane.
Not it isn't. Around 1000 volts per centimetre is required.
These lines are as far as high voltage goes, are at the lower end of the voltage range.
@deang5622 How close together do you really think it is? Keep in mind 1 foot is 30 centimeters. Even if it's 3 feet apart that is 90,000 volts. And I'm assuming it's a little further apart then that, so somewhere over 100,000 volts. You consider that low voltage?
Yeah, 100 kV is nothing to sniff at. And the arc was stable for a long time....
@@KingVin712 First of all you can see that the insulator used here is pin type insulator, used at maximum of 33KV. Secondly the towers are distribution type (wires are not that far apart etc etc) and distribution type dont have more than 11KV. And even if it is 100+KV, its not that much voltage, my college's High Voltage Engineering lab had 400+ KV transformer and i have worked on 600+ KV transmission line. you can have bigger and more insane arc in you home easily with a few capacitors and transformers
Well, aren't most powerstations sending 400k volts? Isn't that the standard world wide or just In the EU?
I keep thinking of those tesla coils from Red Alert.
