What I find is really special is not only the openness and humour momma and daughter have in their communication but also feeling safe to be honest with true feelings and it's accepted by both. You both listen well to each other's perspectives which comes from a natural respect and kindness for eachother ; this can overcome whatever life has to offer. Well done ladies!

Where I'm from, we speak Malayalam! It's so crazy to me how similar Tamil is.
Nina Thomas this is Jaffna Tamil, the purest accent of Tamil still spoken in the world today. Malayalam too did come from Tamil and both SL Tamil and Malayalam retain lots of old words and intonations which Indians don't.
Sri Lankan Tamil is closer to Malayalam than Indian Tamil. Malayalam and Lankan Tamil retained a lot of Old Tamil words whereas Indian Tamil lost many of them.
