Hey Mani, I rarely comment on UA-cam, but I had to on this video because I’ve been through exactly what you described. I might even delete this comment once you see it. I’ve followed you since your first video on steps to do for a master’s in Germany, and I’ve seen your growth over time. Like you, I went abroad for my master’s with big dreams, but once I settled in, I started feeling really unmotivated. I didn’t want to upskill, connect with friends or family, or push myself to reach my full potential. I was stuck in this rut for a long time, feeling unsatisfied and wasting a lot of time. I’d always think about my goals, but I couldn’t get myself to take action. Eventually, I hit rock bottom and decided to get professional help. Thankfully, I didn’t have any major mental health issues, but the best advice I got was to practice self-awareness. By reflecting on my thoughts and actions, I realized I was wasting so much time on my phone, especially right after waking up. I learned how important it is to avoid doom scrolling and chasing instant gratification I get from social media, process my thoughts, and use that morning motivation to do something productive. Your video really resonated with me. It’s comforting to know I’m not the only one who’s felt this way. Thanks for sharing your story. For anyone else reading this, if you’re going through something similar, the first step is to stop using your phone in the morning and reduce screen time. Anything over three hours a day is unhealthy for our brains. It can be hard at first, but we all have so much potential, and we shouldn’t waste it by endlessly scrolling.
I'm going through the exact same thing that you described. I haven't recovered from this yet though. I'm trying to improve but the lack of motivation is really hard to overcome. I hope I can get back to being the real me.
