Glenfiddich 12 and Glenlivet 12 are my favourites . The way you are drinking single malt only matters . Without adding anything and drinking slowly gives the lasting impact.

@@maheshchandra8397 yes premium whiskey is drunk like that only. At the most add 2 ice cubes not more. Coz it melts and spoils the taste, fragrance and magic.

The single malt whiskies should be drunk on a tulip shaped glass with short pedestal stem like the Glencairn.
Adding a few drops of water will open up the flavours & aroma of the whisky.
People who rave about Japanese whiskies should give Kavalan (Taiwanese whisky) a try & I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised by its quality & flavour ! Cheers !

I have 3 out of these 5. Glenlevit, glenfidich and laphroaig 10. I went to Lagavulin distellery with a friend but could get a distellery tour booked. They were kind hosts. They gave us a dram of 25 years old Lagavulin to enjoy along with peg measurers as souvenirs. They even helped us book a tour at laphroaig distellery. Both of them are close by. Reached Laphroaig and it was a great experience to see great scotch whisky being made. Isle of Islay is beautiful. I like peat so I have bowmore too. Nice to see you educating people on art of drinking, specially scotch whisky. All the best Dada

Dada I work at Delhi duty free, what I have observed is that apart from glenlivet and Glenfiddich, singleton is one of the most preferred malts. Macallan, Oban, talisker and Lagavulin are also sought after malts.
That's why I made singleton single malt review today
Abhishek Vats :- Nothing personal my dear Youngman but staff at Delhi Duty-free are very confusing 😕, When someone walk in with very clear mind & select Glenlivet 15yrs, The 😀 guys try there best to confuse the customer without paying any attention to what the customer is specifically looking for......? At billing counter as well lots of confusion is created, they don't tell customer about the Scheme available but they try to push sale some chocolates....

Yeh this is my brand i drink only glen ❤️🌈 its the best without question
My favourite is Lagavulin 16, reasonably cheap, very peaty and smoky Islay whisky. You can have it as neat or with a splash of water, but it’s a bit acquired taste . And I think for beginners of single malt, the above mentioned drinks might be better.

@@36drill I have usually found 5-6k to be the sweet spot as far as vfm goes. But I do agree that lagavulin 16 is an exceptional whiskey. However if you have lagavulin 8 and do a blind tasting you will be surprised how close they compare.

2) OBAN 14yr can appear on this list too.

My take -
5. Dalmore is a bit overrated , too heavy and flavors are pretty strong to appreciate.
4. Laphroig - Ardbeg beats laphroig on balance of peat and smokiness. Ardbeg 10 yr old is much more balanced which suits our warmer climates
3. Glenmorangie - I would have definitely pushed it to near no 1 position or no 2 , when you drink this it feels literally having a perfume. Most elegant flavors ever, for those who are confused only buy the orange one rest are not worth the money spent
2. Glenfiddich shall be no 3 for me since glenmorangie beats it hands down
1. I have an alternative no 1 here with Yamazaki taking that spot. Body is rich , flavors are well differrentiated with noticable notes and elegance worthy of its own palace :)

Glenmorangie truly is one of a kind. The honey makes it a winner for all kinds of people wanting a drink and not only the regulars.
I am ok with Dada list.
In my view Glenmorangie comes no closer to Glenlivet or Glenfiddich and in particular Glenfiddich it has apple nites, vanilla notes, cake notes with a pinch of spice and importantly a finish which smooth and recalling.
How can you exclude lagavulin??? I think it's better than any Glen...
