- Local artist and calligrapher Dan Smith reads from the poetry of Du Fu, a classical Chinese poet from the Tang Dynasty. Smith also reads a poem in Chinese of his own composition, and explains the formation of some of the characters, with displays of his own calligraphy. Peter Camarda, Host of "A View for You," interviews Smith, and then recites two poems for contrast: Walt Whitman's "We Two Boys" and Wordsworth's "Westminster Bridge Sonnet."
always been a huge fan of chinese poetry...good recital
Very nice
桃花細逐楊花落(peach blossoms follow poplar flowers falling) which implies Spring goes away and everyone do not want to work with the party and all goes away too.
The peom apparently writing the scene the time late Spring, the palace after the war, the feeling sad sitting besides river side of the palace and not willing to leave means he loves the country a lot, the weather cloud over the head of the palace implied the country suffering dark period, the flowers fall one after one pointed out late Spring and the birds fly away implies people and officers not willing to work with the party all are leaving one by one

OMG! He reads the poetry with terrible accent! If I don't read the text I won't understand what he is saying!
I think his calligraphic work is also bad.
He is good, but not even close to what this poem really about. I think it’s a good start, but Chinese culture is the best in the universe
Learn to appreciate & respect. Your arrogance and stupidity disgrace Chinese culture and the ppl who really love it.
