How to Flip Kwikset Lock Cylinder to right side up. Reverse upside down key

I had no idea that you could flip the key lock cylinder on most Kwikset lock knobs from upside down to right side up! Hundreds of these kinds of videos already, but here is mine.

Thanks for the thorough explanation. Had to see several videos and still couldn't pop out the cylinder. Extremely frustrated until your video. I was able to accomplish the mission a few minutes ago.

I rekey locks all the time at work. all you need is pair of long nosed pliers. no hammer is needed. also just stick the kwikset tool in , and than tap the other end on the table , and the cylinder pops out.

This is all great, but when you do this you will have to turn your key in the opposite direction (counter clockwise) which is towards the door jamb a direction which is also counterintuitive. Better IMHO to insert your key "upsidedown" but be able to turn it clockwise.

So in layman's terms, boys and girls. What we have learned today is an order to defeat a kwikset All one would need is a drill, a screw and a slide hammer plain and simple insert screwing the key way is nikkiwa. Attached slide hammer rip key way right out insert screwdriver and open door
