Husband: Lands through tense crosswind
Wife: Unimpressed
Husband: Washes Dishes
Wife: Very impressed
Husband: Prepares for engine start-up
Wife: Are we there yet?
Way too funny 😂🤣😂🤣
this guy knows how to husband.
Captain sir are you which country staying.
@@rnzoli :D
May God bless you and your family for the great work you are doing in serving humanity.
Lovely and giving couple. Doing good for those less fortunate in the material world. Bless you both.
Ryan, taking your wife along on this flight reminded me of the first time I took my wife up in a Cessna150 after I got my PPL, over 40 years ago. It was a short, smooth, scenic flight. After we landed, I asked how she enjoyed the experience. She said, and I quote, "I don't see how anyone, in his right mind, would do this willingly." (BTW, we've been happily married for 61+ years.) So, "To each his own".
Blessings to you and your family.
my husband just began flying... i went with him a couple times and was motion sick both times.. don't get it lol
This woman clearly had other "attributes"!
Since you told that story I am reminded of it by this flight also. Chelsea looks in an airplane like I feel on a ship. I just want to disembark and have it over and done.
Mine said the same thing, and then dont ever ask me again.
Congratulations to your long decades of marriage 💑. 👌
That looked so sketchy coming in over those trees….. damn. I’m guessing that’s where the “bush-pilot” comes into play.
Wow! Quite a landing. Choked up a bit when I saw the joy of the locals when they saw the mower. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Why do people do a thumbs down on this video? I mean, he's going through a cool flight during a flight to deliver a mower to a village that really appreciates what he and his wife are doing for them. What's not to like?
I wouldn't thumbs down but I think missionary work is hella sus and colonialist. That said this dude is an incredible pilot.
@@richardwhittall5470 Colonization is taking an invasion force of many, many people and soldiers and taking over a place. Missionaries go and teach the Word of Jesus Christ and try to help people with food, clothing and education. Colonization is totally different.
@@HerschelHorton I respectfully disagree and I urge you to read the history of colonization of the Americas and the deep ties between invading forces and missionaries.
@RetreadPhoto😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fantastic approach and landing! Happily married; "no I don't watch his videos", "no I don't care for aviation", "no I don't worry about him flying", perfect! LOL. Kidding of course, thanks for sharing with us. Behind every successful man is strong woman but not the other way around as my wife says.
Really I like flying I just don’t want to be a pilot. I don’t worry because I know he knows what he is doing, and I have confidence in him. I love being in the passenger seat!
@@chelseafarran I get it! My attempt at humor. Obviously a great pilot. Thanks for the reply.
1. Extremely well manicured runway for cutting it with bush knives. 2. Nearly trimming the trees on final, eliminating need for more equipment. LOL! Great flight and landing!
The missionaries had recently bought a couple of tiny little push mowers because they couldn't keep up with how fast the grass grew
@@MissionaryBushPilot That's still awfully impressive work for tiny push mowers! Love your content, and your mission.
Husband battling 15kt crosswind on short runway within hills and an abundance of obstacles, while wife wraps Christmas gifts. I love it! My hubby, who has zero interest in aviation, would probably be busy looking at an auto trader while I’m making that landing. 😂
Your wife is adorable and obviously has a kind heart ♥️
Beautiful couple in a beautiful plane in a beautiful country!
well said, buddy!
It was very nice meeting your wife. Thank you for another nice flight video.
The Approach to me was chilling. OMGGGGGG. U're a amazing pilot!!! Congratulations. All the best to u and wife.
A hug

Great flight thanks, and I’m sure the locals will be enjoying their new lawnmower. Cheers from NZ
Well that explains why Ryan's always so clean-cut lookin, I figured you just lived above a Supercuts lol
Great comment 😂
In the most respectful way, she's quite the looker..
@@silasmarner7586 I mean, they both are. Persons of similar attractiveness tend to pair up. Weird.
Anyway... Airplanes guys, amirite?
Now we know why his hair always looks great!!!
The funny thing is he actually cuts the sides of his hair every week. I only cut the top when it gets too long.
❤❤Thanks for coming to Simbu..I saw your plane and I shout and said, "goodbye Ryan and safe trip,"while I wave wildly.God bless and safe trip to you both.
❤
Ryan,,, It was nice to finally see your wife and to hear some of the questions that people have. The villagers were so excited to get the new mower...thank you for the work you do to help these fine people out.
Man you've got it all, lovely Lady wife and commercial pilot flying in beautiful countryside. For sure it doesn't get better.
Great video. Nice to meet your wife, a lovely lady with a beautiful smile and great outlook on the material aspects of life in the U.S.
Mentioning the youngsters all walking around unaccompanied brought back wonderful memories of my childhood years in the 40's and 50's. Yep, I'm an old guy that misses the simpler life of days gone by.
Great effort by this pilot, working with MAF helping our people in the rural areas of PNG! Great work!
Just loved meeting your wife. Please tell her that 50 years ago in Boroko there were a couple of boutiques that sold the most beautiful clothes and sandals. I bought all of my clothes there. Also in Steamies they had the best modern furniture you could imagine buying all the way from England.. So we had back then boutiques, our house furnished with English modern furniture and the real flokati rugs from Greece, we wanted for nothing. Those were the best days before independence. For you Ryan back then no trash littered the streets or anywhere. It was so clean.
Agreed with most of what you have said @Juliereid . I recall when they opened the new multi storey Brian Bell Shopping Plaza in Boroko and people came from everywhere to marvel at the escalators as they had never seen moving steps before. There were only two sets of traffic lights in the entire city too.
After the scene of tribal dance around the lawnmower, I can't look at mine the same way I did before...:)
Did it make your trigger finger a little itchy?
Soo funny. Soo true!!
I don't fly was a dream of mine but the wife and I cruise the Harley through the old country highways through the ozarks. It's much more pleasant when she comes along. My best wishes to you guys.
It's nice to have your wife along. I brought my wife and son on the YWAM Liberty a year ago and they loved working as a medical missionary. I really enjoy the welcoming ceremony, and with your blog I get to see a lot of the highlands that our ship is not able to visit. Keep up the good work!
Nice to see she’s so relaxed. Signs of confidence in her pilot. 👍
Yes absolutely!
I am a private pilot who really enjoys going along for a ride on your flight videos! Thank you!
Pilot Husband: Not sure if we can land with crosswinds at 7 gusting to15 knots. Wife: Sorting her gift bags to give to friends when they land. Absolutely Epic!
Ja, das ist so,!, Perfect Comment! Frauen sind anders (women are different...)
That’s what I was thinking !! 🤣
@@peteheymes259 also, there are female fighter pilots

Wife understands enough physics to know plane can land in any conditions. Survivability is husband's problem.
First time visitor..
Very cool, 74 driver myself and I’d trade my whale life for your life in a heart beat..
Congrats.. 🙌
Good morning to Mrs. Missionary Bush Pilot, pleased to meet you.
My wife and I served as missionaries in East Africa for 11 years. It was great to "meet" your wife and get her perspective. Living in another country and culture is both a blessing and a challenge sometimes. I pray blessings for you and your family. I flew with our Baptist 210 Turbo and Grand Caravan in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, and Tanzania. It was an awesome experience. Enjoy your time PNG as you make a positive difference. Blessings.
When were you in Tanzania, David? I spent 18 months there in the 1980’s (Dar es Salaam).
@@MrSkytime only flew into Dar and Iringa, but lived in and around Nairobi flying out of Wilson airport with our Baptist mission pilot, Chad Tilley.
It was nice to meet Chelsea. She doesn't seem as comfortable in front of the camera, it was nice to meet her. She should do more Q&A's in the future!! Take care and stay safe Ryan & Chelsea!
I plan to bring her on more flights in the future
@@MissionaryBushPilot Would she agree?😀
Sooo! Where did you learn how to fly? Must have been military!!! But very professional!!! So valuable skills!!! GOD BLESS! FOREVER!!!
that reallt struck a chord with me where she points out that back home its normal for people not to have time to stop and talk, or any time at all. ive lived in communities that are much more about people than money or time and i really that especially now with lockdown. you can be poor as a church mouse but live a happy life in the right environment.
Hi Chelsea, nice to meet you finally. I hope everyones new year is safe healthy and happy.
Serious case of job, plane, life envy. Great video.
Good to finally meet your better half! When I was in PNG, I remember having to get some of the girls in the dorm to cut my hair since there were no barbers. Chelsea has a good important ministry. Also, when I left PNG, I took the best clothes that I had, but they were not in style here in the U.S. Felt awkward. I've been in aviation for 35 yrs., and my wife isn't interested in aviation either. They say opposites attract. Excellent videos! I hope to be able to jump on board and financially help with some of the needs. Thanks Ryan for showing more of your ministry. God bless you both.
Just a few comments. I am not a pilot but I find your videos very enjoyable. Your videos are truly professional. The several cameras are great. One thing I find startling is that the amount of work you must do to be a Pilot is really amazing. I had no idea that there was so much to do. Thank you for what you do. Let me respectfully add that you are one LUCKY MAN to have such an incredibly personable and beautiful wife.

Super video! I applauded for $2.00 👏
Awesome 👍 you're The best
Great to meet your wife. So true about the pace of life in the U.S. vs. so many other places in the world. Keep it up Ryan!
My wife is also Chelsey. I want to take her flying really badly but its just so expensive. I'm glad you two get to have these experiences. Especially in a country as cool as PNG.
Your wife is also Chelsey??? That is quite a bombshell to drop in a UA-cam comment... unless you just meant that she is also named "Chelsey".
2nd wives are a PNG thing... how did you know? ( just joking...I am PNGean... don't come at me...lol)
It's really sweet to see how grateful the people are that they would do a dance because of the new lawnmower.
Very Nice to meet the Family !!! Welcome to the VLOG Chelsea! ;-)
Man, what a life you guys have. Cheers. Thanks for the little personal life perspective.
Jogging videos got boring so now I am jogging to your flying videos. Kind of a strange sensation.
9:53 that's actually one thing that i love of living in a not crowded city, like the outsides of Costa Rica. Dude, we live so quiet and peaceful here. haha
I think that is awesome that you and your wife are taking gifts to the children.
Your wife sounds similar to my wife - no interest in flying. She loves the utility of airplanes, but has no desire to learn to fly. Even when I was teaching 'co-pilot' for sig-others class, she just didn't care to learn all the technical and procedural stuff (which I love).
Greetings from Canada Howard Williams! I'm a wife and a pilot ! Hubby flies too. I was a Tow Pilot, flying a 180 Scout, towing gliders out of a 2,000 ft. grass strip with hydro wires at one end...lol But the landing in this video is not one I'd like to try anytime soon that's for sure. I must say though, that in my personal opinion, every power pilot should become a gliderpilot first.
Love watching these flight videos with my feet planted firmly on the ground - and that's exactly how I fly my airplanes!
"81 on base and turning at the tree". It must be a very prominent tree!
It's the one with landing gear stuck in the top. 😁
I say this from the perspective of a patriotic U.S. citizen: Any American that can travel abroad or better yet immerse themselves for weeks/months in another country/culture, do it. It is the absolute best way to open your eyes, your heart, and just reset your perspective! You become so aware of how good we have it….and also that we get many things wrong. All of humanity is connected, all more alike than we are different. You can be both patriotic and appreciative of other countries and cultures at the same time, regardless of where you call home.
that approach was insane....
The shallowness of the approach is wild. Any significant negative performance sheer and you're grabbing those branches. Wheeeeeee.
“Yes, darling. Very nice landing. Now get out and mow the grass”.
That would be my wife
😂😂😂
Welcome on board Chelsea. It's so amazing that you're accompanying your hubby on this flight. Powerful yah. 🙏💪🇵🇬
I have another Chelsea. Sleeps most of the time. I found myself uttering that famous flying phrase as you came up to the Threshold......WHOA! It looked a bit hairy. Yet another great video of a beautiful country! Many Thanks Ryan.....and Chelsea!
Excellent questions and responses too. Nice video, beautiful indeed to see them dancing and expressing their gratitude, thanks for sharing
Wow! What a beautiful valley! That landing was awesome, nice and smooth despite the cross wind!
Thanks 👍
@@MissionaryBushPilot Please subtitle the names of the locations so we can find them
Ryan, it was nice to finally meet your beautiful wife. She handled that crosswind landing like a pro! I literally thought you were going to scrape the top of the trees before you touchdown! Wow, it kinda took my breath away. You always do such an amazing job. I would love to fly with you sometime! The scenery going in was beautiful. My son-in-law's Parents served as missionaries for a few years back in PNG. They would fly over from the States in the summer and take the Jesus Film to the tribes. Who knows, they may have flown with you at one point. Thanks for all you and your wife do to further His Kingdom!! May God richly bless you and your family!
I noticed the same thing when we visited Kenya: lots of people walking around on their business, many even often running from place to place, and always with lots of smiles as well. I remember growing up in a small town in northeastern PA in the 1970s as kids we walked or rode bikes a LOT, even pretty far distances and there were a lot more people out walking around than today.
Thanks for what you do. Always watch. ‼️ fun, exciting, beautiful scenery and love the dicey parts. Your an amazing pilot. Loved meeting your wife. That was funny when you all said you weren’t the least bit interest what each other did. 🥰
Wow, thank you! I really appreciate it!
Hi Ryan, another great vlog post. I was surprised to see you taking off from Kundiawa Airport because a few years ago when I was there, it was closed. When you take off and see the big mountain to your right on the other side of the Whagi River, my village is at the back of that mountain. Also, a nice change to have your wife on board and to hear a different perspective on her experience of PNG. Greetings from Dublin and keep up the great work 😊👍
Very cool. I think in 2016 they finished it
Nice Touchdown on that soccer field in the mountains with a hairy crosswind.
thx
Awesome flight! Your wife is a keeper! Reminds me of my wife. Cool, calm and collected!
Fly safe and fly often!
beautiful job you have! wonderful motto brave man, God bless You and Family
Flying in and out of those mountains has got to be some high pucker action. I'm a retired Air Traffic Controller (35 years) and I was getting tense just watching the video.
I know, especially right over those trees!
Wife has absolute confidence in the pilot's ability and judgement, fun to watch.
Ryan, this is the one time Chelsea can’t complain about your “driving”. Make the most of it! And Chelsea, I can’t believe how laid back you were going in to that particular strip. Kudos 😀
That valley at the end is gorgeous. Nice to see your wife. And congrats on almost hitting 140k subscribers. You're on the verge of becoming one of the top five self produced av channels.
Crazy! Thanks for watching
Only times in a pilot's career where your senses are at their highest: Your first solo, during your checkrides, and when you fly the fam. Here's to verifying you ran the same checklist 4 times and find yourself still in doubt as to whether you ran it or not. XD
Great job again Ryan and nice to see your wife on the plane ✈️ with you. and nice lawnmower for them to mow with, well have a good one Ryan and your wife see ya next time see ya bye.
Thank you for sharing this. One of the bumpiest landings I have watched of yours and your wife just sat through it with ease - yep, she trusts your abilities. Great landing. Blessings.
Great video again. Thanks from the snow, cold and worrying career politicos.
Very nice to meet your wife. You and she seem like great folks. I have great respect for what you do and you guys seem to have it together.
I've been watching your videos for quite a while - my father was on New Guinea from 1943 to 1945 . He was technically a machine gunner/mortarman but loved flying so he would sub for gunners on B-25 when he rotated to the rear. Other than being shot at, he loved it.
It was nice to meet your wife, Ryan. Glad you were able to finally deliver the lawnmower. Thanks for posting. 😎👍
Close to those trees on finals Ryan. Your wife is gift indeed, very pretty too. No wonder the "go fund me" took a while to secure that mower, it's a beast. Really loved the 3D footage over the runway near the end. God bless you both.
Thx for watching
Great meeting your beautiful wife, Ryan! You two really make a good team together. Appreciate your mission work in Papua, New Guinea, as well as the awesome footage of your flights!
Your wife is stunning, Ryan. You're a lucky man.
And that looks like a great mower. I just bought a Zero turn mower for my farm. These people are going to love this new mower. Well done. God bless you both.
Great Video! Nice of you giving us a peek into your family life.
I must be getting old, when the thing that impressed me the most, was how nice the grass on the runway was!
the missionary recently bought two small push mowers to get them by until this came
Wao.. they were so happy
For the lawnmower ♡
And I see presents for them♡
Blessings for you and your wife!!!
Glad to see Mrs Pilot glad you two get to be together. Tell her we appreciate you producing these videos
I always feel like I have been on journey just watching these - fly safe, keep safe - Thanks
I loved the lawnmower, deal, score👍
Hi Chelsea...I enjoyed the fresh perspective, honesty, and sincerity of your dialogue with your husband. It is clear to us that success in life is centered around God, family, and a "meaningful" job. I hope you get to fly with Ryan in future episodes; some of us (females) that love good hair and aviation will appreciate your commentary. Be safe! Amen.
Success in life is to do with being a decent person - nothing else.
I've known plenty of "decent people" who are absolute garbage.
Success in life depends on the person and what he/she does in life, good attitude, respect for others and determination.

That is so cool! We in the U.S. are so spoiled and take every so for granted!!! These people are truly appreciative of the things that people give them!!! Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Good Morning to Mrs. Ryan from Waxhaw, NC near the JAARS facility.
I was flying this region in FS 2020 just the other day, trying to find the location my father had to land on a river bank on the Yuat river. I only have his description of flying through the Yuat gap on his way to Wewak from Wapendamanda, and a few slides that he took at the time. So seeing the area in real footage was awesome. Thanks for your videos Ryan!
My dad had a Taylorcraft BC12D when I was a kid back in the 60s. I enjoy planes but never wanted to become a pilot. I have the Carravan on my Micro Soft Flight Simultor and I have a heck of a time flying it without problems. The J3 cub isnt too bad. Speaking of Cubs they make the Cub Crafters in my home town of Yakima Wash.... I enjoy your vids...wonderful scenery.in New Guinea.
Danke!
Stall warning right at the threshold... doesn’t get much better than that! I’ve seen dozens of your landings and I’m always in awe of your skills as a pilot. Lots of fun to “meet” your wife too... :-)

Beautiful valley and awesome landing. Thanks for introducing your better half. 😉
Beautiful country and this brings back lots of memories of my work time there. I can't believe how calm you are with those super challenging bush runways. Yes PNG is nice because the materialistic lifestyle is not there. People there enjoy a food gift over anything else. I'm wondering if Talair is still operating in PNG.
Where is this place located?

Hey Ryan, nice having your wife for the ride along. She had steely nerves on that landing. By the way, great job lining up on final approach.
looks bored.
I totally love the dash 8. I took that plane many times from Charlotte Douglas to Greenville South Carolina . it was a only a 20-minute flight. It was a little noisy , but the propellers landing gear everything was caught on my iPad. The flight attendant was as good as any Delta flight attendant
It is generous of your wife to share this with us! Thank you! Very interesting video as always. I always thought you have the sharpest and best looking haircut of all the UA-camrs out there (really) now I know why! 😃
