In MW5 mercs NPC mech armor is 1.5 times max player armor . Or the calculations use a damage reduction for NPCs . NPCs target the most combat valued torso 1st . I find that Lasers have greater accuracy & faster projectile speeds.compared to a PPC . My Marauder had 2 ERLL and no PPCs for savings in tonnage quickly . I also put 1/3 of a location's armor to the rear. because as I fight 1 or 2 targets the other 2 will run up behind me . Double heat sinks will save 1/2 the tonnage of the Heat sinks the mech has .

Hitting max armor is the worst thing you could do honestly. You're over-armoring your back.
