Spot the French grammar mistake! 🇫🇷✏️

A student of mine in the CFSC said, "Ce matin, je pensais du film que j’ai regardé hier soir." 🍿
The correct way is "Ce matin, je pensais AU film que j’ai regardé hier soir."
Why? Because “penser de” is only used for expressions opinions, you can’t use it to express you are thinking about something.

It could be present tense, if it's still in the morning, but not necessarily: the speaker could be uttering the sentence in the afternoon of the same day in which case it would most definitely already be in the past.
