Thanks for this. I have a few thoughts: 1) The spectral sensitivity in the UV region would be considerably attenuated by the antireflection coatings of modern lenses. 2) The intensity of the light source matters. Blue/UV output may be "efficient" but not necessarily practical unless there's enough of it. So what would be helpful are the actual exposure times you're getting with the different sources. 3) There are recommended occupational exposure limits to UV light. These should be considered for the occular safety of the photographer and the subjects. 4) There are probably fewer choices of light modifiers for LED panels

I believe you may have sold me. However, I would like to see three exposures made with each of the lights to see the difference in the exposure times.

@@marcellusjermaine1185 that's disturbing that can be done so easily.

Very informative and clear. Thank you!
I also agree with other comments that it would be really cool to see how exposure time varies with lights of different colors but same power.

Well done. A good explanation of a film's peak spectral sensitivity.

How was the spectral response of the collodion measured?

Interesting video, thanks for posting this. Makes me think of ways I can enhance the tones of my images.

Good graphs to dispel the myth that wet plate is only UV sensitive (Mr Lund proved this wrong). It is a mix of UV-violet-blue. Precisely which blue leds / specs?
A fourth option is UV output CFL: an array of 6-8 would be powerful enough for portraits. A fifth option is a mix of LEDs - UV - violet - blue. Would love to se these tested.

I have a led 60w(4500 Lumens) but its white light.....If I use a blue filter over the light would that help? Im still very new to all this.

Is there any comparison of this light in real life? Have You tried to check it with wet plate?

Hey, thanks for the video. Do you think a UV LED light about 395-400 nm could have the same effect of this blue led light ?

What are the blue light, can you put a link to them?
