    This is the best video on replacing the backflow preventer. Very well explained. Thank you

    Fantastic video, well done. Just enough detail and explanation to make sure us “non-plumbers” do not screw up. I have a new vessel on the way, should be here in a day or two. In the meantime, I am off to Ace to search out one of those corks to “hack’ it until it arrives. Then if all goes well with the install of the new piece, I will get the repair kit and work on the old one. Thanks.

    Thank you sir, this entire procedure worked perfectly. I had the same exact issue with the torn diaphragm. Adjusting the wedge screws on re-install had me tweaking for a bit.

    Nice job explaining . My 375XL just failed. A plumber came by to tell me it cannot be repaired and needed a replacement to bring up to code. Bought the repair kit locally for $58. The plumber wanted $1,200. Took 1 hour to fix. Thanks for your help. Where do I send your commission/ Ha!

    Excellent instructions. Helped me fix a leak at the discharge valve. The leak was caused by a piece of PVC debris stuck in the first inlet valve. Leftover from changing the shutoff valve from PVC to a metal ball valve. Done by a licensed plumber! Anyway, have a question. How old was the diaphragm when it failed. My system is 3 years old. It would be helpful to know what to expect.

      Hey Ken! Glad the video was able to help you! Our house was built in late 2017, so I guess that would put the backflow right at 5 years old and it's the first time it's ever given me any problems. Take care! :)

      I just had the same experience with small pieces of pvc debris that prevented the spring from closing the diaphragm all the way after the landscaping contractor fixed an issue with my sprinkler line. Thankfully this video showed me how to take apart my unit and where to look.

    you know I'm glad you made this video and it's unfortunate you don't have any comments or anybody else because you're charging me $400 to fix this because I can't source the part at all locally and because we're selling the house and it has to be fixed before the house is sold

    • @TravelandFoodieWarriors
      @TravelandFoodieWarriors 2 роки тому

      Yea, it's crazy, it's actually a pretty easy fix, were you able to find the parts online ok?

    • @Therealphantomzero
      @Therealphantomzero 2 роки тому

      @@TravelandFoodieWarriors I was able to find the parts online but it would take too long but time we sell the house. Additionally I come to find out that the code here requires license plumbers to do it and homeowners are not allowed to do it. If that's the case I need to be recertified and no one's going to recertify it if they didn't work on it

      @@Therealphantomzero That's a bummer, what state are you in? We just had to get it tested at is was fine, but if it's a local code, there's probably now way around it :(

    • @RandomRepairs92

      I would assume so, but I'm not 100% sure on that. At least if you purchase on Amazon, you can return the repair kit if it does not work! :)

      The XL is the lead-free version of the same valve so the repair kit should be the same
