Pity about the need to keep on the move but for the sightseers amongst us it does make for a great video with the constant change of scenery. How good is the boat - just keeps on keeping on with apparently very little upkeep. The map is a good inclusion to provide some reference for such a long journey, and that camera Steph used in the dinghy gives a whole new perspective. The salad looked delish! Much enjoyed!
Great to see the puffy jackets are a time of the past 🙂
Gosh yes so are we!!😅😅
What a lady, she takes good care of you Travis, your a very lucky man
Thank you! We like to think we’re a pretty good team and it’s been working quite well! 😊
My favourite episode. 😌
Amazing!!😆😆
Great video and beautiful scenery.
saw your boat when you were in Cascais !
Really cool to see that
Enjoy your trip
Oh neat, really?! Were you on a boat as well or onshore?
Enjoyed your channel! Just Subscribed.I’m trying to convince my wife that a circumnavigation is a great retirement project and went so far as to even start a little channel (@NavalGazingatCampDavid) to sell her on the life style….desperate times and all that. Lol. Thanks again for the great content. I have a whoooole new appreciation for the time and care it takes to create these episodes!
Welcome! That sounds like a great project to us😄. Nice work! Everyone loves a good boat tour video, Travis actually watches those ALL the time 😊
That was a magnificent coastline, many Americans are moving to Portugal, now I see why. Keep enjoying the trip of your life, Stay safe.
Yeah! We had no idea til we ventured over here. Such a lovely place
wow Portugal is more scenic than I first thought. great shot of Jibsea through eye of tunnel. see you next week
Yeah! It’s absolutely stunning!
I love the mix of picturesque towns and remote coastline / caves! What amazing scenery and felt like I was there exploring. Thank you both as always for the escape and for sharing!
Our pleasure! Def recommend the southern coast if you ever plan a trip to Portugal!
Sneak past the Orcas on the inside! Great plan! Thanks for sharing that amazing shoreline view of the Portuguese Algarve coast! WOW! We picked up the insta360 on your recommendation, using your link! Thanks!!!!
Next week it’s all about getting past those buggers! That’s amazing!! Let us know how you like it!
Super Great Views on this trip.. 😎👍✅
Beautiful views!☺️
Beautiful spot. Nicely done gang!
Beautiful! This Schengen reality is really a bummer. Absolutely not enough time to spend in so many different countries, especially traveling on a sailboat!!! 🙁 Thanks for your fun content, stay happy and safe! ⛵️
Tell us about it! So many beautiful stops, so much to see so little time!😣 thanks for coming along with us😃
Great video as always! I have heard that some locations allow a special “Digital Nomad” visa that allows you to stay longer than 90 days.
Ya we’ve heard the same! Some easier to get than others and some require you to stay in that one country. We’re bad at deciding on any one place 😅
Thank you so much for identifying each stop that you make along the way. I'm tracking you on google maps and that makes it a lot easier! Great episode!
Figured it’d be so much easier!😜 we always have a hard time remembering all the places we’re recommended to visit without physically seeing and noting them on a map ourselves
Awesome again, it must be tempting to stop everywhere, with such beautiful spots round every corner.
If you want unbelievable coastline, check out the coramandel, North island nz one day.
Thanks from south island nz, and 2c with snow.
Very tempting! Could easily spent much more time from the top of Spain to down in southern Portugal. Would love to make it to NZ one day!!
@@SailingJibsea we would love to see you down here. My mate in MA kai has just sailed here from the states, but is in figi for the winter.
Enjoy.
I vacationed for two weeks in Cascais, loved it. Seeing all those places you visited wants me to go back. Did you know that the casino in Lisbon and regions saw Ian Flemings as a spy during WW2? It also inspired his book titled "Casino Royale". Safe travels you two.
Such a lovely place, could see why you’d want to go back. Nope, didn’t know that, thanks for sharing !
Nice video
Thank you!
Great video!
It’s a shame to stress over the 90 days. Can you apply for a long visa like sailing Uma?
Ya we’ve heard some countries do that - some cruisers have shared their experiences with us. Some countries are easier and a smoother process than others and may entail us having to decide on a place ahead of time (some require you to stay put in one country) We’re so bad at that!😅 We move so quickly and to so many places it makes it hard for us to choose one
Be very careful of any pastry in Portugal or France, Because you will end up a lot heavier than when you started. It will make it very hard to climb a rock face.HAHAHA
Hahaha all those bakeries sure are temping!!
Thank you for the reply I thought you would get a kick out of it.
Are you planning on visiting Malta and gozo?
Would love to make it to malta
@@SailingJibsea than i suggest the port of mgarr on gozo for your groceries and the island of comino, both islands ar part of Malta
How cold was the water along the Algarve? Famously frigid!
Tanger? Tangier?
Too chilly for our liking! Yeah tangier. We prob pronounced it wrong 🤣
If you continue on your journey long term, hopefully you'll be able to transition to a catamaran at some point, I think that would be much more comfortable for you guys.
Depending where we go a catamaran would great! If we stayed in the Caribbean for example, a catamaran would great. Condo on the water and great space for entertaining! But we personally enjoy the sail of a monohull and prefer to be in one transiting through certain places
Towed into port!?!? Not sure how far behind your videos are from real time, but the Orcas have graduated to sending boats to the bottom starting in Early May this year.
It is no longer the "Innocent Rudder Play and Bumping' a few Orca Experts were trying to explain it away as . The Juveniles are now fully removing rudders while the Adults have begun repeatedly full speed Ramming the hull. They have holed some yachts, and 3 have gone to the bottom since May before they could reach Safety.
Thankfully there still hasn't been any serious injuries. I'll be keeping you guys in my thoughts, trying to send out good vibes that you avoid any drama and make it through unscathed.
Yes we know they have been sinking some sailboats but the majority we hear from sailing the area, are tows into port occurring daily, if not multiple times a day. Fortunately not all attacks result in sinking , that would be outright madness at this rate. The toes are the ones who don’t make it to the news usually and the stories we hear from fellow boaters in the area. We were hoping this to diminish but looks like the word’s spreading to the orcas up north in Scotland as well. Scary stuff. Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts🤞🏼
@@SailingJibsea Of course. I enjoy your content and wouldn't want to see anyone in a situation that stressful where they could potentially lose their home. I'm not over there so I don't hear the VHF calls like I am sure you are privy to. But I am a member of the daily tracker maps and forums tracking their activity.
So I have seen the increase in the volume of reports indicating encounters with other pods that seem to be picking up the behavior. That they are getting much more efficient at disabling ship rudders to disable them, and that they are now carrying out the attacks in shallow water near shore all the way out to deep water well off shore so it's kind of luck of the draw if you skate through or not. I noticed on the tracker maps the reports of encounters resulting in damage have been spreading north into the Bay of Biscay, across the English channel, and up the UK Coastline, as well as down the African Coast as far south as Western Sahara and the Canary Islands. Good Luck, Fair Winds, and Following Seas.
Hopefully someone figures out a non violent way to de escalate these situations and persuade the orcas to lose interest in yachts before someone is seriously injured or worse. Not only would that be a tragedy for the loss of human life with some of the Countries in that region it could very well lead to the culling of Orca Pods that show this behavior in the presence of certain Navies and coast guard
