    Pity about the need to keep on the move but for the sightseers amongst us it does make for a great video with the constant change of scenery. How good is the boat - just keeps on keeping on with apparently very little upkeep. The map is a good inclusion to provide some reference for such a long journey, and that camera Steph used in the dinghy gives a whole new perspective. The salad looked delish! Much enjoyed!

    I vacationed for two weeks in Cascais, loved it. Seeing all those places you visited wants me to go back. Did you know that the casino in Lisbon and regions saw Ian Flemings as a spy during WW2? It also inspired his book titled "Casino Royale". Safe travels you two.

    It’s a shame to stress over the 90 days. Can you apply for a long visa like sailing Uma?

    • @SailingJibsea
      @SailingJibsea  Рік тому +1

      Ya we’ve heard some countries do that - some cruisers have shared their experiences with us. Some countries are easier and a smoother process than others and may entail us having to decide on a place ahead of time (some require you to stay put in one country) We’re so bad at that!😅 We move so quickly and to so many places it makes it hard for us to choose one

    If you continue on your journey long term, hopefully you'll be able to transition to a catamaran at some point, I think that would be much more comfortable for you guys.

    • @SailingJibsea
      @SailingJibsea  Рік тому +1

      Depending where we go a catamaran would great! If we stayed in the Caribbean for example, a catamaran would great. Condo on the water and great space for entertaining! But we personally enjoy the sail of a monohull and prefer to be in one transiting through certain places

    Towed into port!?!? Not sure how far behind your videos are from real time, but the Orcas have graduated to sending boats to the bottom starting in Early May this year.
    It is no longer the "Innocent Rudder Play and Bumping' a few Orca Experts were trying to explain it away as . The Juveniles are now fully removing rudders while the Adults have begun repeatedly full speed Ramming the hull. They have holed some yachts, and 3 have gone to the bottom since May before they could reach Safety.
    Thankfully there still hasn't been any serious injuries. I'll be keeping you guys in my thoughts, trying to send out good vibes that you avoid any drama and make it through unscathed.

    • @SailingJibsea
      @SailingJibsea  Рік тому +1

      Yes we know they have been sinking some sailboats but the majority we hear from sailing the area, are tows into port occurring daily, if not multiple times a day. Fortunately not all attacks result in sinking , that would be outright madness at this rate. The toes are the ones who don’t make it to the news usually and the stories we hear from fellow boaters in the area. We were hoping this to diminish but looks like the word’s spreading to the orcas up north in Scotland as well. Scary stuff. Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts🤞🏼

      @RedwonMactamhais Рік тому +1

      @@SailingJibsea Of course. I enjoy your content and wouldn't want to see anyone in a situation that stressful where they could potentially lose their home. I'm not over there so I don't hear the VHF calls like I am sure you are privy to. But I am a member of the daily tracker maps and forums tracking their activity.
      So I have seen the increase in the volume of reports indicating encounters with other pods that seem to be picking up the behavior. That they are getting much more efficient at disabling ship rudders to disable them, and that they are now carrying out the attacks in shallow water near shore all the way out to deep water well off shore so it's kind of luck of the draw if you skate through or not. I noticed on the tracker maps the reports of encounters resulting in damage have been spreading north into the Bay of Biscay, across the English channel, and up the UK Coastline, as well as down the African Coast as far south as Western Sahara and the Canary Islands. Good Luck, Fair Winds, and Following Seas.
      Hopefully someone figures out a non violent way to de escalate these situations and persuade the orcas to lose interest in yachts before someone is seriously injured or worse. Not only would that be a tragedy for the loss of human life with some of the Countries in that region it could very well lead to the culling of Orca Pods that show this behavior in the presence of certain Navies and coast guard
