Because back then, you can not just repair the game by releasing patch over the internet, you need to make sure everything is working fine without much bug or glitch. Once a game released with thousands of VCD copy being produced, it's a hit or miss so they couldn't mess it up.

Considering they're all the same game... no The Wii version might look better than the PS2 version but the Xbox 360/PS3 version will look better than both.
