    This painting is very similar to one I am attempting, of a historic building, so this is very helpful to me.
    I like how you describe the brush stroke you are using and why.

    Thanks Alek, really appreciated your ideas for creating texture in trees. I normally rely on dry brush technique on medium to rough papers but I have trouble in sketchbooks working on smoother watercolour or cartridge papers. I will definitely try this.

    REally helpful Alex! I've watched a lot of videos but watching a complete, yet simple painting has been very useful. I'm returning to watercolour. I have a perchant for "real books" and was wondering if your book comes out in English? Thanks so much for your help!!

    Your instruction is very interesting and I am learning so much. Now I have to learn these by painting, and practicing! I think this is the 3rd lesson I have watched. I watched your Christmas tree lesson and will probably practice with those scenes as I plan to paint some Christmas cards for friends. Oh, and btw, thank you for sharing these with us!!!!

    What type of brush is the fan brush made out of? Sorry I cannot understand with the accent.

    • @keikkana
      @keikkana 6 років тому +1

      Sorry I know this is 5 months late 😅 but I think the fan brush he is showing is made of Hog's hair, which is stiff and maintains it's shape well. He also mentions nylon hair brushes, which are softer, will end up clumping together.

      Accent? His accent is pretty much as natural as a well spoken British Accent...

    Thanks for the info about hog hair bristles for watercolor - I've always been told that they're only for oil or acrylic and wouldn't hold enough water or pigment for watercolor. I'm looking into getting one or two to try out. Also are fan brushes standardized sizes, or do they vary from brand to brand?
