Great to see a yacht 'restored' to well above the original condition. Today we see the 'used' yachts limping back to the boat yard after an owner has DRIVEN it to the end of its capability and gone on to another 'toy'. Keeping quality yachts up is a noble task. Glad to see someone else understand 'boat keeping' as apposed to 'boat using'.

I have to admit, I know little about sailboats and even less about the sea but I’ve always been enamored with the designs and engineering with sailboats. Having said that I do know craftsmanship and beauty when I see it. This boat is amongst the most beautiful ones I’ve seen.

Beautiful boat! I remember the 51ft Bristol marlin motor yaght my father owned back in the late seventies. I love the classic style that the Bristol boat company had.

Totally my kind of boat...classic, immaculate condition...probably pricey too. A masterpiece of restoration work. Sailing a boat like this would bring peace of mind as far as safety's concerned, not to mention being an eye catcher. Reminds me of some of those old classic cars Danny the count does up (pimps) to become a beauty again.

That is a amazing boat in excellent condition it’s like they gutted it and brought it up to today’s era of modern interior and electronics fresh off the mold

Love to sail this beauty around my home port of Greenport NY. She would be just the vessel for Eastern LI sailing ! Thank you for sharing the beauty of this yacht with us.

I'm living in North Carolina now but spent over twenty years on the North Fork (much of them in Greenport. I agree that this a prefect boat for the region!

David Kalbacker as I posted earlier, I sailed professionally for over 17 years.... and I have to say.... this boat would be perfect.... ANYWHERE you would sail. It’s a design and quality to go anywhere that the sea offers. It could be almost a crime to sail it on a small lake, but if that was your only choice, it would probably be the King of that water.

Beautiful vessel and truly appreciate the attention to detail. Unfortunately, at the end of the day it's a $148k for a 53 year old vessel... Architecture/design, construction, and convenience (to name but a few) have come such a long way in 50 years.

Charles Holmes Another way to think of it is craftsmanship vs production. Technology may have improved, but seaworthy well built vessels are rarer than they should be these days and those that are terrific and built new now (Spirit, Swan, Halberg etc) are ten times this price. It’s a value question indeed.

If this is living in the past i am all for it. Why not? I love classic cars from the late 30's. The "art deco" period and i love the classic boats. From these to early race boats including the old hydros and motor yachts.

This is certainly not a boat for anyone that needs to ask "how much?".
What it is, is a flawless example of floating artwork that also happens to be extremely capable of going anywhere.
It won't get you there the fastest.
      You won't bring much stuff.
But you absolutely will get there in style, safely and comfortably.
And wherever it is you show up, you are gonna be the prettiest boat in the harbor.
If I had "F U money", I would own this thing. It is stunning.

i suggest you read some john kretschmer (sailing a serious ocean). bristol still makes the list of some of the top blue water sail boats ever built and this one is in "turn key" condition. 148k is not so dear for a boat capable of heavy weather sailing anywhere in the world.

You make a common point. I was in the boat business for over 17 yrs, mostly on the southern gulf coast and one piece of advice I gave to those that just bought a new, used or brokered boat was this..... first thing... go out and put a scratch on it. Preferably not a big one, but get it out of the way. Your boat has a job to do and that is for you to take control of it and enjoy it.... if you don’t, the boat will be controlling you. I’ve just given a wise piece of advice. You’d be amazed how many came back and say it’s so true. You soon learn repairing a scratch is nothing.

I forgot to add this, most all Bristols are top shelf quality, and heavenly to look at. Especially under sail.
